its not something you need to fix. I mean, the actual voice cast in the game booklet says one of the characters is "Smarmy British Palpatine Ally" It made me laugh
I've finally started poking around under the wookiee hood myself recently, I have to say, one of the most enjoyable thing about it is seeing all the familiar user names.
Is there a cap on size of wiki? I have lost a couple of articles I knew I created. one of them I forgot but just discovered that an article about the Robida Colossus disappeared without a trace or anything on my contributions or watchlist... If I remember correctly I described it as a Ganathan Battleship that rescued/intercept the falcon after its near fatal run in with the nebula near by... Anyone have the same problem?
For the sake of upping this, I'll try and answer razz - the missing articles must have been deleted. Did you include a source listing at the bottom of each page you created? Often, if someone makes an article about something nobody recognizes, and there's no source given, they assume it to be a fan creation and get rid of it.
The Star Wars Wiki is the best source of Star Wars information EVER made. It's basically the Star Wars mainframe. Wikipedia is also the best thing since the Internet.
Since this is TheForce.Net, I really have to give credit to the CUSWE. Right now, it is much more complete than Wookieepedia, and at any given time a lot less likely to contain major errors. I think of Wookieepedia being the Wikipedia to CUSWE's Encyclopaedia Britannica. 8)
The main complaint I have about CUSWE is that non of the articles have links to any of the others. It's a pain to have to open a new window just to look up something mentioned in passing, especially since the CUSWE often doesn't go in deoth about stuff, just basically lists information.
I've been a huge CUSWE booster over the years, and the wiki certainly has a long way to go before it's at the same level, but I have to admit, in the long run, the wiki will be a much better system. In addition to the interconnected articles, SWW actually has a much higher standard of writing quality. I won't for a second undersell what Vitas has done - I can understand not devoting too much attention to grammatical excellence when you've got 50k articles to do - but a lot of the CUSWE articles seem shockingly haphazard when you're used to reading even some of the smaller wikis.
I agree, but let's not lose sight of the face that CUSWE has been a GREAT resource for us at the Wiki to a) Double check articles B) Quickly identify fanon. For that reason alone, it is invaluable.
If you see an article with no sources, edit it by putting {{sources}} at the top of the article, and make a request for sources on the article's talk page. I've killed several fanon articles that way.
SW Wiki articles aren't meant to be the possession of one guy. They're collaborative projects that are constantly striving for improvement. Anyway, even if a guy makes a minor edit like changing the tense, the history page will still show who deserves credit for writing most of the article.
I just signed up today. This is fun, particularly turning stubs (or nothingness) into actual entries. Now, I don't know if anyone needs that much on Komad Fortuna, but if they do it's there now. Since the other thread is probably going to get buried, I might as well ask this here also. Anyone think something like this could be useful in the Wiki? Would it be its own entry, like "List of Tales stories with elements of continuity", or part of the "Star Wars Tales" entry?
And now it's been Farked. My thoughts are with the editors of that Wiki thing...there's now hundreds of people messing with it.
Who's been editing the Malak and Nihilus pages? They added a comment about Malak using Makashi, and removed a good portion of the Nihilus entry which included the "Behind the Scenes" section. Unless I'm missing something?
Well was everyone able to add stuff today after our little spurts of shutdown? I'm not sure why the server would overload like that. We weren't slashdotted were we?
Anyone else having trouble submitting or uploading? I keep getting a "This document has no data" error (Firefox) every time I try. Doesn't work in IE either, so it's not just the browser (and it was working just fine yesterday).
