The page of Cheravh describe "covered in hard frontier country", and maybe it's that I'm not a native English speaker but what do "frontier country" mean?
I feel like that means like the American frontier. Oregon Trail, Wild West, Lewis & Clark, that kinda vibe.
Four and a half years later, but Shea, do you still have those casting polaroids of the advisors? I never saved them. And I kinda feel like finally making the article on the sixth one.
Yes, I do still have them, along with about 4 images of "Mr. 6th". I'll try and send them later tonight. And by all means, please do give it a go over at Wook! Hopefully they'll have enough sense to realize there should be an article on him. Unidentified Imperial Dignitary, maybe? Yeah, "lack of notability" was the cheap excuse CadeCalrayn claimed for arbitrarily deleting the article. As though the character isn't seen exiting the shuttle with the Emperor, and that every other one has an article...
Oh man. Send me everything you have, especially all the pictures of Mr. Sixth. Either upload them and post them here, or just send them directly to me at gradualferguson@gmail.com . I totally still know how to create a Wook article with specific enough sourcing that even the edgelordiest of admins won't automatically kill it. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE THE SIXTH ADVISOR LIVE. (But let me know where the polaroids are from so I can source them )
I got the continuity Polaroids from here: https://www.starwarsarchives.com/dt_gallery/1983-continuity-polaroids/ ...but many, many more exist elsewhere. Or so I'm told. They're bound to be out there somewhere, but who really knows. They existed at one point, and hopefully still do. I'm also uploading the 4 core Imperial Dignitary images here: ...and just give me a moment or so for the few other images of "Mr. 6th". But while I'm here, that excellent site also has two of the only images I've ever seen of the other, even more obscure ROTJ Dignitaries: the Rebel Dignitaries! They can be seen onscreen, and there's several of them, including several women. One of the most overlooked background elements is that the Emperor wasn't the only big character whose world we get a glimpse of via his close advisors- we also see get the same look at Mon Mothma, and the contrast between the two is telling. Compare the sickly looking, dark-clad Imperial Dignitaries to their Rebel counterparts dressed in white and tan, and you suddenly realize that it was just one of many subtle ways that a contrast was given between the good of the Rebellion and the evil of the Empire. Go and watch the Mothma scene again and pay attention to who is in the background- even decades later it is still something hardly anyone realizes. Now, how that relates to the Wook is very simple: has anybody there ever created articles for any of the Rebel Dignitaries? If their Imperial equivalents merit articles, then surely a few brief articles on the Rebel leaders are also in order. Unless of course they're somehow "not notable"...
...and a good view of 6 as filmed: And since there just has to be proper attribution, here's a view of the full scene from the Trilogy DVD, which can be viewed on versions with alternate angles on players that have that capability: And of course, there's multiple screenshots from the overhead view at the end of the Emperor's arrival that clearly show there being 6 Dignitaries walking behind him. Starwarsscreencaps has plenty to choose from. So, we already have articles for all of the other 5 Dignitaries, this guy is clearly in the film, and he's clearly a very important (if unnamed) character given his presence with the Emperor. Now, there is one further bit I should add, but which remains speculation for now: who the actor was for the Sixth Dignitary. A fellow Dignitary enthusiast and I both agree that it might well be Tony Castleton, who is known to have been an extra in ROTJ (and ANH, apparently) but whose role has never been identified. He's even mentioned in the Making Of book. Going by his Avelyman page: https://www.aveleyman.com/ActorCredit.aspx?ActorID=108060 ...there does seem to be a resemblance, but then again we only have the one Polaroid as a clear enough facial image. Maybe it's him, maybe it isn't. All that matters is that this character will finally have a proper Wook article!
I think I asked why several unidentified characters have their own pages instead of just placing the individuals into one page based on their affiliation (Jedi, Separatist, Empire, Rebellion, etc.) similar to what Memory-Alpha has done with Star Trek characters. It would certainly be more useful.
I actually do think there's a theoretical consistent organizational scheme where this guy indeed isn't notable just for being a film extra - but I doubt very much it was the reasoning at work here. The Wook just doesn't like to admit error.
Ah, @SheaHublin , you are a superstar. And hang on... Mr. Sixth is at the far left of that group shot? Holy crap, you're right. It's not black-robe, who's visible between Palps and Sim Aloo, and it's not Greejatus (the face and the robes are wrong). Yet for some reason I never... realized it was him (even when I was writing the article on the tall-hatted guy in 2011 --- hell, I'm the one who uploaded that image to the Wook in the first place). I thought he was the one hiding behind Kren Blista-Vanee, but nope, that must be Greejatus. HE'S BEEN HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT ALL ALONG
Behold, in all its glory: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_Imperial_Advisor_(purple_robe) It's been created, and it's been linked to in a few other articles. It's out there in the world. It took five years, but we did it!
Awesomeness! Well done! The only things left to do now (until more information surfaces) are to get articles up on the Rebel Dignitaries and add Francis Batsoni's name to the article for "Tall Hat", since he has been officially credited for the role.
That one was easily done, but I couldn't find an "official" source --- if you know of one better than Nerf-Herders Anonymous or Aveleyman, let me know.
Wow, there's a lot of neat stuff kicking around in those continuity photos that I've never seen before. Very cool. Aside from the sources and references, it would take precious little editing to arrive at the canon version of that same article. I don't know if any or all of the six were confirmed to be aboard at the time of the explosion, or that the canon advisors actually "oversee" their home star systems in the same sense the Legends advisors did... otherwise, as far as I can tell everything else is entirely applicable to canon as well.
I'm so surprised half of these guys don't have names. The same source that confirmed there were six also said all of them died, so none of the unknowns can be Pestage or Dangor, at least in the Legendsverse. Then again it took until 2013 for the last member of the Death Star Council, Trech Molock, to be named.

Unless I'm thinking of a different character, the Skiff Master did finally get a name a couple years back: Paggetti Rook. IIRC the Neimoidian guards at Mustafar got names too.
I was always jonesing for a complete Red Squadron roster. Thanks to the film and various EU sources we know ten of them (and the callsigns of six of those ten), but two are still a mystery. Jason once mentioned on these forums that he had wanted to nail out the roster in Warfare like he did for Hoth and Yavin, but for various reasons it never came to fruition. There are a whole bunch of possibilities for the identities of the two missing Rogues/Reds --- Lak Sivrak, who we already know was an X-wing pilot at the battle; Gayla Riemann, who's ID'd by The Truce at Bakura Sourcebook as an X-wing pilot who fought at Endor and Bakura and is later ID'd by Wraith Squadron as a veteran of Rogue Squadron (there would only be the smallest of dots to connect for that one); Hanc Thorben, who served as a Rogue between Hoth and Endor; any of the surviving Rogues from Hoth who were never established as being in one of the other Endor squadrons (Nala Hetsime, Cinda Tarheel, Barlon Hightower, etc). If it were up to me I'd probably go for Sivrak and Riemann for the sake of non-white-human-male diversity (and since most of the puzzle pieces are already there for both of them, anyway). And as for Red Two, the Y-wing pilot... I'd either make him Horton Salm's brother, or else Salm himself, folded into Red Squadron mid-battle after the death of Red Two and the near-decimation of Gray Squadron (with Galaxy Guide 5 already having established that several of the Alliance squadrons were devastated during the battle). And hey, that would open up another free spot in the Red Squadron roster.
The Weequay Skiff Guard who pushed Luke on the plank was named Pagetti Rook, the Skiff Master was a different character (I dubbed him Natani Rook, Pagetti's brother based on a line from ROTJ). The Neimoidian guards were named, yes, but I meant the others in the long robes, one of them is Aito Laff. Also figured Wes Janson was Red Six due to the fact he was Rogue Six in Shadows of the Empire. Gayla Riemann strikes me as Red Eleven and Randi as Red Ten. I once headcanoned Tarn Mison and Kesin Ommis flew in Red Squadron as Red Twelve and Red Eight respectively. Once placed Hanc Thorben, Lak Sivrak, Cinda Tarheel and Barlon Hightower into Gold Squadron as well, which was a mixed X-wing/Y-wing squadron in Legends. When it came to Red Two, always felt he was a different pilot from Salm, maybe a brother, cousin or nephew because he sounded younger. Also chopped and changed to make him Will Scotian, who was Rogue Two at Gall though could've lost his X-wing at Coruscant but survived going EV. As to why Red Two and Red Three were Y-wing and A-wing pilots -- last minute replacements for pilots who fell ill or were out of action.
Of the ST characters I think I most want to know the hopping leech-man from Maz's castle, assuming that it's not just an animal.
Huh, there's actually another prominent unnamed character in ROTJ, the pilot Wedge addresses as "Red Two"... ...though this seems to be due to another "Fake Wedge"-style goof, as the old card game called this guy Gray Leader Horton Calm, despite this contradicting the movie!
Well there's also that sequence where Wedge says "Red three, Red two, pull in" followed by an A-wing pilot saying "Got him", which is then followed by that scene of an A-wing getting shot down by TIE interceptors, which are then destroyed by a Y-wing. The next shot then shows the same A-wing pilot from before, alive and well. Are we the audience just supposed to not be paying too close attention and assume the A-wing pilot is really the Y-wing pilot? Or maybe what's being said in the cockpits has no bearing with the scenes outside? If the latter, then maybe Wedge is talking to someone else entirely when referring to "Red Two"...
