The Crystal Star is by far the worst. It reads like a children's book. I have nothing against childrens' books but I like to know what I'm "signing up for"...

The Lando and the droids portion of the Black Fleet Crisis. You could cut that third of each book and you'd never know it was missing. It's completely pointless to the greater story.

    Republic Commando: Triple Zero- BOR-RING

Jedi Trial- Anakin becomes a knight WITHOUT Obi-Wan!? Neeja Halcyon was pointless and the supporting characters were just pointless and annoying.

The Bounty Hunter Wars- A Fett who won't shut up and way too convoluted scheme (even for Xizor!) And is anyone impressed by a villain called Balancesheet?

CRYSTAL STAR (Its the only thing star wars I actually hate.) There is only one semi-decent thing about it and that is I like how little Anakin talks such as "Mr. Treep!" While talking to C-3po.

After that I've never finish James Luceno's old republic one with Qui-gon. It Shadows od decet or somthing. Anyway its the only other star wars book that put me to sleep.

I recemend not reading any star wars book that get don't get summed up by other novel because that means they stink lol :p

    This is worst, not best.

And I say Planet of Twilight. The only Star Wars book to have no redeeming value whatsoever.

However, The Crystal Star is honestly just as bad.

Jedi Trial for worst actual quality of writing.

    Most overrated? Jedi Academy trilogy.

I thought to myself when I first read this thread title "Thank God he didn't say Book instead of Novel" just for the Dark Empire debates. I think People were ready to spill blood about that a month ago.

Darth_Boba - No....it's Star Wars: Dark Crystal. Written by me. I bet you find it to be the worst novel you have ever read. ;) Or maybe I just mixed up Darksaber and Crystal Star.....neither of which I have read but both seem to have many haters on the boards..

I know opinions vary greatly...but for the life of me I still can't see how "Traitor" can be on anyone's list.

Darksaber was pretty bad. I don't know why everybody is bashing the Bounty Hunter Wars books:confused: , I thought that they were pretty good. I own a copy of the crystal star that I got for FREE, but have still only read the FIRST page. I know it will suck and just can't will myself to read it. I enjoyed the new rebellion, although I thought that Planet of twilight was tripe. I enjoyed the med-star books greatly and thought that shatterpoint is perfect. The Dark Nest Trilogy was okay and I may eventually give it another whirl.

Champions of the Force makes The Crystal Star look like All About Eve. My god. I've not even finished it and I'm tempted to king hit anyone who gets near me. It's turned me into a monster! A monster!

I try to avoid the famously bad books, although I may give Crystal Star a whirl for sheer kicks, so out of what I've read, Triple Zero and Courtship of Princess Leia.

And while an easy answer would be GODV, I found that most of them were pretty entertaining on a goofy, dumb level. Except for Lost City of the Jedi, which was just boring-dumb.

I don't get the Splinter bashing. People just don't like the content, it seems. They also seem to fail to grasp the context. Bah! It's a good read, I tells ya!

I do not believe that Luke and Vader dueled prior to ESB!

    Period.

Glove of Darth Vader anyone? :D

Though I have to say they weren't the absolute worst.

I'd have to list Dark Nest Trilogy as the most craptacular Star Wars book. Yes, worse than COTJ or PoT or TCS

Well, that's every work that features a character known as "Anakin Solo", you know.

I seem to recall him being quite popular...

Whichever book re-visited pretty much every planet from ESB
The one where Leia duked it out with a Hutt Jedi
    Rogue Planet
    The Approaching Storm
    The New Rebellion
The Hand of Thrawn Duology. Don't get me started on the Luke/Mara interactions

Darksaber. The Jedi Academy Trilogy. The Crystal Star. Vector Prime (not for killing Chewie; for the fact that Chewie's death was the sole part of the story with which I connected emotionally; which was actually, a fairly nice scene).

I'm sure there'd be more but my reading of the PT stuff is patchy.

I think I'm the only person in the universe that likes Planet of Twilight. Possibly this is because I was, like, 13 when I read it. Still, I thought it was awesome at the time.

I found that third the most interesting and fun part of the trilogy.
I would say ^that about the Luke/Akanah third, though.

Splinter of the Mind's Eye - it was like some of the bad Marvels...on crack.

Champions of the Force - Stackpole had to come along and re-write it for it to make any sense. And WTH is Luke Skywalker laying on a slab while his two year old neice and nephew rain dance around him for? He's a Jedi Master.

Courtship of Princess Leia - Han Solo, prince of planet plot device. Leia. What happened to Princess Leia and who snatched her body? Luke...floating... out of a falling X-wing.

Cestus Deception - Oh. My. God. Are we at the end yet? And why, oh why is Dooku on the cover?

The Jedi Apprentice Books - Just no...

The Dark Nest Trilogy - A lot of important things happened in these books. Stuff that we'd waited on forever. Too bad it was so ****ed up. I firmly believe Troy Denning went on vacation after the second chapter of TJK and Del Rey's editor's finished the trilogy, and we know how gosh darned good they are. You will never convince me of anything else. [face_talk_hand]
