Just wondering if Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader had ever decided to make the Kathol Rift and sector a part of the Galactic Empire and Vader had been sent there with his death squadron to invade and conquer the area, would Darth Vader and the Empire have been able to defeat the Aing-Tii and rule their area of space?

The Aing-Tii Monks had a different view of the force, and viewed it as a rainbow with many colors, could do flow walking and other things, and had a lot of secret force powers that the Jedi and Sith did not possess or know how to use at all, its possible that Palpatine would have been outclassed by the force powers of the Aing-Tii, and of course he would love to learn their secret powers, what better way than by capturing a few of them and forcing them to give the secrets away.

Or would the Aing-Tii have been able to defeat Darth Vader because of his flaws and limited power? Surely a fleet of Star Destroyers and thousands of Imperial Stormtroopers and Tie Fighters would have been able to defeat the Aing-Tii and their ships, you have to wonder if Palpatine had any plans for eventually defeating them and learning their secrets, but the Rebellion got in the way and he had to focus on that, waiting to deal with the Aing-Tii and Witches of Dathomir and other force users after he had crushed the Rebel Alliance first.

It is interesting that there is no acknowledgement of the different force sects around the galaxy by Palpatine. Did they know about them, or maybe because they kept to themselves they were left alone. After all, it is the jedi that feel they have to confront and defeat the sith.

I thought Palpatine tried to study from every Force sect?

I don't think Palpatine knew too much about the Aing-Tii, though. I don't think the AT could take the fight to the Empire, but how well they do on the defensive would depend on what their strategy was and if Sidious/Vader were able to learn the AT's ways or turn any to the dark side.

The Aing-Tii used teleportation and had weapons unlike (and more powerful than?) the spacecraft that were seen going up against them in the Darkstryder Campaign and in Vision of the Future. I'd venture to say that these abilities, as well as any others of the same magnitude, would make them formidable even to the Empire.

Of course, there probably aren't that many of them, in comparison with the population of the Empire.

And there's the possibility of Imperial dark Jedi learning their powers. However, as said powers seem to rely on their specific view of the Force, it may not be possible to use them without having one's mindset opened to their way of thinking, which in many cases might result in the questioning/abandonment of one's prior modes of thought (i.e., dark Jedi-ish/Sithly).

I seem to remember that Palpatine had studied the teachings of several Force sects by Dark Empire such as the Heresiarchs. So, there does appear to be some acknowledgement there.
