SWC17 Wristbands and attending big panels at Star Wars Celebration Orlando (a mini guide)

So if I don't want to get in line now to camp out when should I get there? Will people be able to line up before the doors open again in the morning? Which is 5am right?

 

Officially there is no lining up before doors open. But there was also supposed to be no lining up today to sleepover. There's also a report in another thread here that doors will not open until 6am now. No idea how true that is either. It's a fustercluck.

Welllll, so much for not camping out TO camp out lol. Soooo, judging on this turn out, I'm assuming getting there at 8pm tomorrow night won't be early enough to nab me a seat in the Galaxy Stage for TLJ?

 

I would still think you'd be fine at 8PM. There were several hundred in line but still plenty of room tonight

 

If we show up at Five today would there be room left in the Galaxy room?

Wow! This years line sounds insane! I remember reading in 2015 that people still got in if they showed up early (like 6am), last year you'd have got in easy at that time, but this year? Yikes!! Can't believe it! Hope everyone is having a good time!

 

The hype is real here in America!

 

I got there at 4:45 this morning. After getting through security at 6:15 I was in line for the 40th anniversary panel but my legs were burning so I went and sat down. I likely would have gotten a wristband but it wasn't​ worth it to me. At the same time some guy at the front of the line passed out. After they evacuated him an EMT checked me and I was fine.

The happy ending for me was that I then went to the empty queues for the afternoon panels and had my choice. I chose Filoni (8th row) and Ian McDiarmid (6th row center). So my advice is if you don't want to wait in that huge line for TLJ tomorrow, get your two bands for the afternoon and find a good place to watch the main panel stream.

Oh, and reports are that by 7 the line to sleepover tonight was a mile long.

 

Honestly why is security so hard for these guys? I go thousands of large events and never see these kind of log jams.

 

They're opening additional entrances tomorrow to hopefully help address that.

Dumb question, but does anyone know if a wristband is required for the screening of Rogue One and A New Hope on Friday evening? I assume yes?

No one is really on the same page here's it feels like reed pop selected anselext amount of people and threw them out there without no team meeting/training.

 

There's a queue section for it at wrist band distribution

 

How's the line looking at 11:30? Almost at 3k?

 

Anytime last night I talked to any of the crew they had no idea what they were doing and had a deer caught in the headlights look on their face. I don't understand what is so hard to hire and train people? They are making cash by the truckload would it hurt to have a few walk through with the staff. If this happened at my job I would be fired on the spot by my district manager. There is no crowd management training at all.

I'm guessing it's close to 3000 at door lock.

They've been queuing for Celebration stage since about 10 and have close to filled the first bay past the middle divider
