David Duchovny wants to see 2nd 'X-Files' film to be made, just as much as Xtra dedicated fans, like MYSELF!

We call ourselves Xphiles, and I have been one of the biggest & most Loyal Xphiles of this show. People around me knows I CAN'T schedule to go out to anywhere on 9pm Sundays, back in the days X-files was still on. Some think I am crazy, but that's Okay with me. X-files ROCKS! I know A LOT of people watch it like crazy too.

I AM NOT ALONE! I KNOW IT! THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE!

It's the most Popular TV show, to me!

Through out the Sniper investigating, you know what I am often reminded of? Of course, X-files, certainly because Mulder and Scully are FBI agents.

In the news they had a woman in Tacoma, Washington said the Sniper case is like something from the X-files.

Hehe, thankfully the Snipers are not Ghost killers, but the thing most weird is this Army man use a Tarot card and wrote "I am God" and says "Goose in a Noose", but anyway enough of this sniper case...

Yea, so X-files was cancelled because mainly the Stars like David Duchvony and Gillian Anderson are tired of paid SO little for SUCH QUALITY work of Acting ALL the time. They deserved Emmys, they not getting it. They deserve Golden Globes, same way.

So, I understand their frustration, BUT like the link I posted above. David and Gillian are VERY happy to do another X-files Movie at least!

I know, the Finale was kinda of disappointing, very little mythology set in motion, very little Aliens, Special Effects, Spaceship. Cigarette Smoking man appearantly Died for good :(

But, the other day I watched it especially the END I cried, cuz David and Gillian (Mulder And Scully) IS very very very important to the series. With Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish, they are really good actors, but it's impossible to see them carry the shows on their own.

Mulder and Scully have a Chemisty together, that's what makes it much more FUN to watch. David gave Mulder a sense of humor that's very unique to such Scary, weird show!

Talking about Unique and Humor, my favorite Comedy episode is X-cops. The episode used the exact camera-style used in COPS. Scully tried to avoid the camera at all times, then finally she smiled to the camera and said "The FBI has nothing to hide LOL [face_laugh]"

And, there is the gays Steve and Edy [face_laugh]

So, X-files movie #2 should be made. Maybe Chris Carter is already beginning to write it, and David sound prepared.

Hopefully, an Official annoucement will be made soon.

What I have heard, is Chris Carter is going to write this story and filming will begin late next year. If everything goes well, the movie should come out by 2004.

They are saying this will not be a mythology-tied sequel, but rather a Standalone.

So, what you want? What kind of story do you want the 2nd X-files movie to be about?

Okay, I think we're all agreed that the quality went down hill in the last couple of years, but it still stands as the best television show of all time, simply because of it's believable character arcs, from main characters like Mulder and Scully to the supporting players like Krycek and Skinner, all of whom have real true character journeys, something missing from most television shows.

I'd like to see the second X-files movie rely more on emotion, like the hallway and limo scenes of the first film and not so much on the special effects, like the first film very nearly ruined itself by doing. Remember, Chris, it's important to leave things to the imagination.

I really have no idea, but there had better be some in-depth character stuff or it won't be worth watching.

I really agree.I remember seeing that movie, when it came out. It was really awsome. :D
The X-Files was one if not the best Show when is was still before this last season. But like all good Shows, you lose new ideas and so it becomes the same old same stuff.Plus they left alot of stuff unexplained in my opinion. But we all have different opinions on that.

It would be hard to say what it should be about. I think it would be a good idea to ensnare us again by not releasing any info. on the movie and let people go see it and eb surprised enough. Or if not just to judge for what they think it is worth now.

People, with Halloween coming up, don't forget X-files is one of the BEST source for some Great scares :)

Episodes like Hellbound, Badlaa, Patience, Via Negativa, Theef, Orison, Terms of Endearment, Chinga, detour, home,Quagmire, Grotesque,3,Die Hand Die Verletzt, Irresitable, Our town, Calusari .... are just some of the episodes I find really Halloween/Scary/Creature related. Of course, many other episodes deals with Ghosts and spooky enviroments such as foggy night, bloody-like.

If they certainly are going to make a 3rd movie, then I think making the 2nd one a standalone is an excellent idea. Making it a standalone would provide the opportunity for a more well-rounded movie with better script, plot. ect than the last one.

Also, CC has basically watered down the mythology plot so bad, that anything other than the franchise finale is going to suck. If both movie #2 and movie #3 were mythology, there's no doubt in my mind that #2 would be a disappointment.

But I guess CC has until 2012 to make #3 ;)

It just wasn't the same after the first movie. There were a couple of good stand alone episodes (mostly the funny ones) but the myth arc episodes, which is what drew me to the show in the first place just stunk. I didn't even watch the series finale.

    >But I guess CC has until 2012 to make #3 ;)<

What would stop another couple movie to be made in 2006-2012? It would be SILLY to not make A bunch of X-files movies. I want them to do more, QUALITY outcome of course. Ain't hard to do, cuz they already done it several times on the small screen.

I own a book called "X-files: Book Of The UNexplained V.II", by Jane Goldman.

IMO, this is a Great book. It offers detailed insight into the the background research used on the show.

I think it stopped after season 3, but nevertheless it's great read.

In light of the Sniper shooting, I studied the chapter "LOOKING INTO THE ABYSS" ...

Ask any X-files fan which episode they have found the most unsettling, and they are likely to mention those which see the Agents pitting their wits not against aliens, mutants or spirits, but against the sheer force of evil which can exist in human beings.

    ...

The Monsters amoung us are all to real. In the chilling succinct words of multiple murder Ted Bundy: 'We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere. And there will be more of your children dead tomorrow'

Parallel to the Sniper's chilling message 'Your children are not safe. Anywhere. Anytime!'

    ...

The first recorded case of serial murder dates back to the 5th century, when, over a period of years, a well-bred man name Zu Shenatir lured an unspecified number of young boys from the streets of Aden into his home. Shenatir raped his victims and killed them from a high upstairs window. His reign of terror ended only when he was stabbed to death by an intented victim.

...serial murder has escalated dramatically...Between 1900 and 1959, each year would produce, on average, 1.7 new cases. Thru the 60s, the figure grew to 5 a year. By 80s, it has tripled. By 90s, it was 36 per year....

The FBI has not waged war on this epidemic unarmed. But, for all its sophisticated forensic technologies, it's most effective weapon may well be it's human resources, in the forum of Behavioral Science Unit (Where Agent Mulder began his FBI career)... putting his acute instincts and Oxford university psychology degree to good use as a criminal profiler.

... Criminal profiling is the art of studying a murder in order to build up a psychological profile of the murderer.

    ......

"Patterson had this saying about tracking a murderer: if you want to know the artist, look at his art. What he was really saying was, if you want to catch a monster, you've got to become one yourself." - Mulder in Grotesque

    ......

Once a suspect is caught and detained, the long and gruelling interview process begins. It's primary function is to extract a confession for use in court, and to assist further investigating. Did the killer have an accomplice? Did he commit other murders than those which have led to his arrest?

    ...

'When I go in to do an interview I leave emotional baggage outside the door' says Ressler (FBI) 'I leave all my prejudices, my biases, my hates, my likes. my dislikes outside. I go in without the knowledge of the crime scenes, the murders, the devastation to the families. I go in clean. Then I build a rapport one-on-one with the individual. I admire their talents, their abilities, their intelligence. I am not turned off at them as a person for what they have done. If they are hostile, so be it. I don't get along with them. But, more likely, I build a rapport. I build a relationship and we exchange information. I provide that which I want to control and I take that which I need. It becomes a seduction process I am courting(manipulating) these people...'

    ...

'When I went and talked to David Berkowitz, the Son of Sam killer, he told me he killed woman because The Talking Dog, a three-thousand-year-old demon, was telling him to'

    ......

With a serial killer, the first couple of homicides, those people(killers) are scared silly. They are paranoid

There is a X-files Video game coming out this summer

    The X-files: Serve Or Resist

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are the Original voice in this game, which makes it ROCK more!

Many sources continues to list X-files movie #2 out in 2004, but NO confirmation.

I am sure, players will be wondering the same thing.

I'll report any X-files news, when it Breaks!!!

I'd like to see the finale cleared up a bit.
And see the future of Mulder and Scully, as well as the human race for that matter...

I think if and when they make the second one it should be just a straight sequal to the first movie. Things got so confusing at the end of the series I think that even Chris Carter was lost.

This is awesome news. :D The last season wasn't the best quality in my opinion, party due to the fact of very little Mulder. :( But since Duchovny seems happy to do it, hopefully the movie will carry more of the character. (And CSM can't be dead, he just can't! [face_shocked] )

The last full Episode of X-Files I remember watching was back in the mid 90's. It creeped me out way too much.

Doggett improved the X-Files. The plots werent as good as the early ones, but I found it more watchable. If they could get him and the others into an early quality plot, all would be grand :)
