Nice post. Quite amusing. The only thing I would change is the sentence The last person to gets a grenade when they least expect it by the good Lieutenant Tainer because it's somewhat confusing.

Nice addition. I like it. Face's old age could be a running joke between those two... Oh, and I think my "interview" post is supposed to start the thread off but we wanted to wait until a)we got some more portions already finished, and b)someone proofread it.

My suggestion for the day is... to add a little more between Targeter's post and Jags_gurl's post. Maybe have Face introduce the pilots and have Kell give room assignments. It won't be very funny but it would give the meeting a purpose (besides humor).


As for names/call signs... Pallii is the Questioner, or Question boy or something like that. As for Uluo, Vong don't have knicknames and woe be to anyone who tries to give him one (possible one-scene plot bunny).

BTW, I am on vacation so unable to do much right now, sorry about that.

I haven't written one yet. The roomate thing sounds like a good idea. Does anyone have any preferences/suggestions as to how to divide it up?

And I think I'm going to write an interview scene anyhow, even if it doesn't get included in the story. The others were so funny, I just can't resist.

 

Since I have too much time on my hands I have come up with a possible roommate break down.

I thought that it would be funny if opposite personalitys were grouped together. That way they could either drive each other crazy or calm the other down.

I have a shortened down version of each pilots personality and gender then there room groupings.

Well, we can either put Pallii in with two other males, or give someone male a higher rank so they deserve their own room (and thus the numbers would even out for bunking) because they have experience from another unit, or as another plot bunny we can put Pallii in a bunk with a member from another squadron in the task force (and thus we have another character we can interact with).

 

Pairing me with the Vong is perfect! Jitter is paranoid, thus having a Vong in the squadron so soon after the war will terrify him, and on top of that, he has a lightsaber and trained briefly at the Jedi Academy, so the Vong will be all but worshipping him! I love it!

I'll write a scene of them meeting in their bunks for the first time soon.

btw, am I the only author who doesn't have an interview for my pilot? b/c if all of the others have them, I may as well have one too and just go for a full sweep. Or we could pick out the three or four best ones to use, but they're all so funny I hate to cut any.

Oh, and speaking of which, I had a little idea of how to end Kettch's interview with Ulou Vaan...I did it in a hurry, so it could probably use a bit of touching up, but it gets the general point across.

?I can handle screw-ups, insane twitchers, cheaters, bombers, unfathomable tuscans, thieves, murderers, paranoids, and pretty-much anything else that comes through that doorway, but accepting a Vong into this squadron is too much,? Kell put his blaster away.

?You know we have to let him in.?

?What!?? Kell jumped out of his chair. ?Why??

"Two reasons," Face replied cooly, "For one, who better to be a Vong specialist than someone who is one? Besides, no one else would be as effective for instertions into Vong territory."

Kell slowly sat back down and nodded unenthusiastically. "I suppose that makes sense. And what's the other reason?"

Face grinned. "Why, to annoy you, of course!"

"Are you seeing how far you can push me before I decide to make like the Ettyk girl and leave a prank grenade in you bunk?"

"Boom, boom lietenant! And knock it off with the questions!"

 

Nice ending to that Bobacca!

And about the roommates things.... If i'm rememebreing correctly, didn't Kell and Face get their own rooms when they were promoted to Lieutenant? So wouldn't it make more sense for the Lts. here to have their own rooms? Just my two cents on that.

Nice ending; I like it. One suggestion though, how about "Boom, boom, luitenant" instead of "Yub, yub"?

Oh, and you aren't the only one to not do an interview scene. I think we only had four (or five) interview scenes and decided to not do anymore so that it doesn't get old--remember that in the X-wing books we only met a few of the characters in the interviews.

We will probably introduce more of the characters in the first meeting and then the rest when they find out their room assignments, etc. That's why if you are one of the majority who has not written an interview scene it would be good to introduce your character in another way, such as meeting your new roommate.

 

I cant remember is Lt. get there own room or not. But I'm re-reading Wraith Squadron right now so I'll look. Was Corran a Lt. ? Cause he was a flight lead and didnt get his own room.

 

I'll bring back up the thread with my interview, then someone posts their interview, until everyone with an interview is done. Once that's finished Targeter posts the first real post. And the reason Corran didn't get his own quarters was because they lacked the space.

 

If no one minds, I've compiled all the interviews so far and spellchecked them, so why don't I just post all them at once. That way we can just move on to the story?

 

Cut mine out, and make sure that you have the names of whoever wrote it before the post itself. If you do that I don't have a problem with it.

sounds good - great job Jade! and in response to your previous question, I think they broke up room assignments by wingmates for the most part and because they lacked space

Name-Jenkin 'Kin' Shiv
Age-approx 50 (appears as he did at 23)
Homeworld-none, born on parents ship, parents were smmugelrs.
Bio-Shiv once lead a squad similar to the Wraiths during the rebellion. While on leave, and passed out drunk, the base his squadron was stationed at was raided and he was captured around the same time Hoth base was attacked. As he was wanted for many of his missions, he was encased in carbonite and put in cargo in a victory class star destroyer for transport to Coruscant. That ship was destroyed by rebel forces, and its burning hulk spun out into deep space. Salvage teams recoverd him shortly after the end of the Vong war, and his old CO, general Crakan, recomended him for wraith squadron.
Personality-Extremly insubbordinate to commanders he doesnt respect. Not exactly an explosives expert, but he loves blowing stuff up, hence the 1 billion credit bounty the Empire had on hin prior to has capture.
Skill-Is an exellent sniper, infiltrations expert (specilising in wilderness terain) and is skilled at flying Ywings and assult transports. Still training in 'newer' craft such as B-Wings and Xwings.

Maybe have him fly an assult transport for the group to pick up EV pilots (like Tycho was doing with that shuttle in the Xwing series) as well as using it for insertions for ground missions. Plus, have the gun turrets on the ATR (assult transtport) be droid controled, to cut down on people.

Umm, i think we have a full squadron but we've got one or two members who i haven't seen since they signed up and for one of them, I've got nothing to work with here. I'l lsend out PMs to those two and if they don't respond in a timely manner, it's fine with me i guess. Just as long as you learn to spell. And if there's no hitting on every female in the thread and that includes arse slapping.

I'm still working on this post thingy.... give me like twenty minutes to finish it up....

You could start him out as the transport pilot for the squadron, sorta like Cubber and the shuttle for the Wraiths.

Afterall, hes been frozen for 30 years, so hes sorta behind in the tech.

Now then, introductions for the rest of you children. I?ll start with the two lucky Lieutenants and then go back to randomly selecting from the rest of you Flight Officers.?

Face glanced down at this datapad yet again to double check that he was remembering everything correctly, just to be on the safe side. According to Kell though, it was because he was getting old not careful. Randomly selecting one of the pilots, he continued with the ever so much fun introductions.

?On to the Flight Officers then. Xash Baxx is our martial arts and weaponry expert and if we ask him nicely enough, he just might introduce all of our faces to the floor in the name of giving you lot hand-to-hand fighting lessons. Next is Aleria Dentar, one of our two resident computer experts and she?s going to be our programmer writer so hopefully not all those little enemies that we seem to collect will be able to read our ever so top-sec

 

Thats much better Targeter! And I agree, we should hold on to it untill we get futher along in the story. Maybe get 2 or 3 more post together before we post it.

I thought we were going to wait to post until we had at least three other posts in reserve. In addition, I was not ready for my interview to be posted (there was less than one day notice of the empending post and I do not live on my computer). There are changes that need to be made to it. If this is going to end up being a contest of who gets to post the new portions, then--not to be mean--I do not want to be a part of this.

Edit message: As an additional note, the thread is not very appealing. We have the bio for two characters (which many people find boring--they just want a story) and then the interview with Dev's character and then my character's interview. The problem with that is that they are not in order. My interview starts with Face and Kell meeting to begin the interview process. Now, I am not upset about not going first (I couldn't care less) but it is really bad to mess up the order of the first posts. Either the beginning of my post should have been cut or the order should have been switched. Either of these problems would have been quickly rectified if we had all checked the posts here before they were actually put up.

 

I've got a solution. Why don't we get either Dev or a mod to lock that topic and maybe create a username that we can all log in under so that not just one person can add a little line in hte subject to say when it's been updated and also post all the posts with that username so that if need be, any of us could edit it.

I like the idea. But I also think we should agree to display here at least 24 hours ahead of time any post we are going to put up so that corrections can be made and we can all agree on the post and the timing of its post on the BTS board before it is posted (too many forms of the word "post" but you know what I mean).

I also think we should take down the interviews already posted and repost them one at a time or we are going to have a lot of lag time between additional posts (since we only have one additional post ready).
