No, It wasn't an easy thing to stay calm in the eye of a storm, nor was it something you learned overnight, but Erik Magnus Xavier was trained to remain in control no matter how crazy the world around him got.

This was the second such tragedy in as many days and Erik was fundamentally greatful that his students and fellow faculty members could rise up to the challenge in a moment's notice.

Foremost, there was Hourglass who's time manipulation abilities where the most instrumental to the operation. Xavier could not be happier that she was on the side of the angels, however, she had pushed her powers to the limit and was about to collapse, but thankfully, Aura was there to lend her strength, energy and support. Erik could feel as Thera revitilized Roxanne and found himself gaining hope.

Then there was Tetsuo and Thor.

Erik could not help but Marvel at Tetsuo as she let loose with her control over Magnetism. Her powers had matured tremendoulsy from the last time he had a training session with her, and it showed. Her teaming up with the Thundergod was a near perfect match as his control over winds and her magnetic manipulation began to stabilize the plane with ease, especially now that Roxanne had arrested all movement.

On the ground, Iori used his enhanced abilities to evacuate as much of the school as he could, as did Karra. Those two had a good natural teamwork, Erik observed momentarily. He'd focus on that much later. Several moments later, bot Karra and N'dare were airborne and searching for any possible enemy presence. That was an excellent precaution, and one that paid off. Using her special vision, Karra was able to see a display of light that suggested that a portal of some sort was winking out. It was several miles away, but it corresponded to the plane's trajectory.

Back at the Mansion, the ever multi-tasker N'dare probably felt the vacuum effect shuch portals caused, however, he was a bit busy as he also added his control over the winds to help keep the plain aloft. He also kept close to the re-awakened android, just in case anyone confused him for an enemy.

Which was probably another good thing to do.

Sage walked by close to the android an all but glared at it. Behind her glasses the same message kept repeating itself over and over again.

[Access denied. Access denied. Access denied.]

She couldn't get a connection to this android and that alone sent her suspicions skyrocketing. She was curious to find out if this model was proof against Sh'iar technology. But that was a question for another time, right now they were in crisis mode and they needed to focus. Still, she'd keep an eye on this one.

Nearby, Solar Flare was now flying around the still airplane and was using his control over fire to extinguish the flames that were now all over the plane. He spotted an odd sight as he flew around. Was that an owl trying to get inside the plane?

?Sir, what should I do?? Erik heard the Magician ask, his voice uncertain. The youngman was distracted and unfocused becaused he worried for his recently acquired paramour. There was much work to be done.

    ?Professor!??

//"Robert, you have to focus. Someone like you can ill afford to be distracted. Roxanne has bought us precious time which we need to capitilize on. With your powers you can reconstruct the ship's missing wing, it will help stabilize it and will make everyone's task alot easier. I'm surprised you didn't think of it sooner. Now, Please focus on the task and hand and reconstruct the wing, we have no time to lose."//

Before Erik could formulate another thought, his danger sense flashed brightly.

//"Surge! Dampen Lera's powers to a mere Lightshow, do it NOW!! Sage, assisst him."//

Almost without warning, Lera's powers exploded forth, lighting up the whole grounds. Her body was shakeing and convulsing as the snake of ele

Greg helped guide the passengers over to the Infirmary once the others had gotten them out of the plane. Most seemed unharmed, just a few bumps and bruises. A few suffered more severe injuries, but they'd be fine in time.

As he was making his way back for another group, something in the shadows caught his eye. He stopped for a moment, searching for any movement, but saw none. Greg looked towards plane then back towards the infirmary. Curiousity won him over and he walked towards the dark hallway he had seen the movement in.

Walking slowing, trying to let his eyes adjust, he called out, "Hello? Is anybody down here?"

OOC: I'm gone for a little while when things get slow, and you guys start having fun... [face_frustrated] :p Oh, and sorry if this seems a bit rushed (yes it is longer, but I'm really just trying to catch up in the least amount of words).

    IC JACK "HAWK" WARNER:

As he began to stand up again, the entire mall vanished. The body he had been leaning on vanished, and Hawk, off balance, fell to the floor. The world began spinning around him. He heard Sage say something about evacuation.

Sage walked over to him, and touched his neck, giving him some energy.

"You know..." Jack weakly mumbled, "Next time you can just have me star down a 50-cal - I'd be better off."

Jack worked his way to his feet, using Sage as a handhold. The three of them departed from the danger room, and out to the lawn. But once outside, the dizziness returned. The world spun violently, adn Jack slumped to his knees. He clamped his hand over his eyes, trying to orientate himself. But he heard the sounds. It sounded like a disaster area. What caused the sounds, though, he didn't know.

The dizziness wouldn't go away. He opened his eyes again, but the world was a blur. It must be his wound - he must've lost a decent bit of blood. But the wound wasn't that bad, was it?

After a few minutes, a thought burned into Jack's mind.

//"Those on the ground, Hawk, Shikimaru, Greg, help get those aboard the airplane safely out. Carefully now."//

Jack tried to open his eyes, and sure enough, there was a plane. The party just never stops for Jack Warner...

He stumbled over to the plane, wobbling this way and that as he walked. If anyone saw him walking, they'd probably think he was drunk. But Jack made it to the plane, and went inside. The first person he found, a woman around his age, was huddled in a corner. Jack put out his taloned hand.

    "Come on," Jack panted.

The girl scrunched up even more into the corner, and Jack realized that she was afraid of his hand. Jack put his hand back down to his side. He tried to smile, without showing his pointed teeth.

"I'm gonna help you. I won't hurt you."

Slowly, the girl stood up, and walked over to Jack. Jack warpped his hadn around her wrist, and dragged the woman over the the door.

He gave her a shove out, and went back for more. The smell of smoke permeated the air. More incentive for him to forget his wounds, and get people out. Another guy came and helped in the effort to get the passengers out of the plane.

As he helped another family out of the plane, he noticed something off in the distance. After a second look, he didn't see anything. He'd look later.

And so, he went back for more passengers.

    Xion
Xavier's Mansion, Standing Near Erik Xavier

Time seemed to stop as Xion arrived, and the very calm man near him seemed too wrapped up in something to notice him. After a moment, Xion realized that time had, in fact, stopped. Just not for him. It was an eerie sensation, being able to move when the world had stopped.

He then noticed that the other young men and women around him could also move, and knew that this had to have been another of the "gifted" kids powers. His seemed to fall incredibly short in comparison to the ability to freeze time. Some of the others near him went to work with righting the plan, and Xion noticed that he really was not needed.

The others quickly and rather efficiently guided the jet to the ground, with hardly a bump. They seemed to handle life and death situations very well. As time began to re-assert itself, Xion found himself a purpose, however minor.

Though the main body of the plane had touched down, there was still bits of debris and parts in the air. The freezing of time had stopped them, and it seemed that others paid it little mind.

As time caught back up, Xion helped in his own freakish way. He reached out, focusing as best he could on the larger pieces of the damaged plane. They were the ones that could still do some damage to the estate or any who got in the way, and were a risk. Xion felt the way they moved, falling still to the earth. He felt the flow of the energy around and through them, the very essence of their motion.

His mind immediately fell back to his middle school science lessons on kinetic and potential energy. At the time he thought them pointless. Two words made up for a ball rolling down a ramp. But now he understood how the process worked, and understanding it in this new way allowed him to, at an extent, control it.

And so he did. Xion concentrated on the motion energy, and with his will transferred it into stationary energy. Just like that, the larger pieces he had focused on stopped dead in the air, as Xion felt the strain.

He had just discovered this new and freightening ability, and had yet to master its use. As such, it strained him greatly to use it for any length of time. Sweat quickly beaded on his temples, as the darkly dressed young man allowed a small amound of kinetic energy back into the metal chunks, allowing gravity power once more to set them in motion.

He slowly lowered them to the ground, one at a time, until all of the most dangerous pieces of debris were rendered harmless. It was hardly an incredible feat, in the face of possible death via Lear Jet, but it was at least helpful.

Xion had very seldom been helpful.

Shira just stood there with her mouth open. She was a schocking orange but didn't seem to notice...or care. These people had just brought a plane out of the sky without anyone getting hurt. "Nfishebum." she mimbled which meant. "Now that's what I call power bub."

Her eyes grew wide for a second but regained control of her body. And let her color drain to the totally natural white. No color. Then she went about helping stunned or injured. "Never a dull day." she stated as she helped a girl with a sprained ankle.

Lera let herself be put into the gental and peaceful sleep. Her breathing evened out in a couple minutes but her temp remained high. By the time she awoke it was normal though, being surround by eletricity uped the temp a bit.

As Surge took her to her room,Lera was just barely sleeping. She let herself smile. A small smile. He was comfortable and strong. Like Iori probably was when he had picked her up to take on the jet just a mere four days before. When she was layed on her bed and her shoes taken off Lera let the sleep take her totally.

Darkness. Before Xaiver's it had meant so much pain and fear. It had meant death and the fact that she had lost. She had hated darkness with so much soul it had possed her. Now it meant peace and lightness. A drifting and safe thing. The darkness meant rest at Xaiver's...at home.

In her sleep Lera saw a beautiful place. A magic place that meant secruity. A wonderful mansion with so many living inside. Home,Lera was seeing her home. After running and fighting for so long she had found what she had been looking for, a place to call home. Xaiver's was where her heart felt at peace and she was safe. A family that loved her and a place to learn without fear of making mistakes that could cause hers and others deaths.

Her family. She didn't know all that lived at xaivers but she was connected to all of them in some way. Some of those other people had become closer. Lera had been there a few days and she had bonds. Thera was her protector and someone who would always be there. But not a mothers, not Lera's, Lera's mother was pain. Thera was kindness and safty. Karra, sweet and beautiful Karra. Her best friend and someone Lera would die for. She had needed a person to understand and Karra had. Karra didn't ask questions that hurt but waited for Lera to talk. Iori, a goof and a wonderful friend. Not so sure about himself but he was always ready to defend Lera and the people close to him. He brought her here. Her saveing grace. No one could replace these people that had touched her heart and soul. Lera would protect them. She would and she had.

In the dream it must have been the future. They were all older. But not to old. Lera was maybe 18 or 19. All her friends were around her and she was a happy out going girl. Nothing like she was now. But something she could be. A little boy ran around and Shira chased him. A guy she knew as robert laughed. Everyone was so happy. Surge leaned over and hugged Lera, and it didn't bug her. Karra was laughing at Iori. Thera was next to Lera and whispered "told ya everything would be okay Surgah." she smiled.

Professer Xaiver strolled into the room where everyone was gathered. He beamed at his students. "Great job last night X-Men. Each and everyone of you helped. Thank you." he said.

Lera looked around again. Not all the students were there. That meant...she had been put on the team at some point!!! Happiness washed over her. Home, she loved being home.

Home was not where her birth family was. It was where you could spread your wings and fly. Your heart was alive with love and you weren't afaid of the people surounding you. Where you could be you and everyone loved that you. Home was a magic place. A place Lera had no wish to leave.

In a room where a fourteen year old Lera lay peace washed over the young girl. She would be okay. Even if it was only a dream it gave her peace. Her eyes flickered but stayed closed in a wonderful dream.

"Do you have a name?" Modrin heard as the restraints containing him were lifted.

Sittin up, quickly, he turned to the man who had released him, figuring that it had all just been precautions. "The name is Modrin Casham." he stated as he looked around the room for the nearest exit.

"Follow me outside. We'll take the shortcut." the man said as he made his way to the window.

Modrin nodded as he followed the man outside and into the air. He was a bit amazed at how easily flight came to him. He had but just to think it and he was in the air. Something was a miss, however, as time had seemed to slow down around the facility. This was no concern to Modrin, however as he quickly assessed this to be an aide to the rescue efforts seeing as many people were now able to perform tasks seemlingly more quickly than they could if time was moving at a normal pace.

Scanning the aircraft, Modrin not only noted that he could have stopped it single handedly as at this point it weighed a good amount below ten tons, but that it was also completely under control. With that element, his help was not needed at this time.

As he expanded his assessment further he realized that the man who had let him out was sticking close to him, shadowing him. It was then that Modrin realised that, while professing to help, he still wasn't exactly trusted here. Feeling a bit helpless after offering help and then not being needed, and being shadowed on top of that, he fell back to searching the area visually for anything that could be deemed a hostile.

Nothing was detected by him, however, and he continued to drift in the air, seeing if there was anything he could do. He felt helpless. These people had taken him in and, while they had restrained him for good reasons, he felt they deserved a thanks. He liked these people, so far, they all seemed so full of energy and willing to help. And, most of all, they all seemed friendly. Even the one who walked past him, glaring at him as if he was some monster, he didn't even think ill of that person. In fact, he only wondered why they were looking at him so hard.

Floating down next to the one in the glasses, he extended his hand. "Hello, my name is Modrin Casham...I was injured and some of the kind residents of this place took me in earlier today." he hoped that by talking friendly and explaining his situation, maybe this person would warm up to him.

    Roxanne Moore "Hourglass"
    Xavier Mansion

Roxanne was beyond tired. She didn't know how much longer she could hold time... even with Thera's help.

//"Hourglass, restore the flow of time in even measures. You can do it. Slowly now."//

If she had had enough energy to talk back, she would have told him he was out of his mind. Controll of that magnitued was nearly impossible for Roxanne in this state. But she would try.

Slowly, she released time. It was going okay at first, but then it ran away from her, and instead of slowly resuming time to normal... it quickly returned... then speed up.

"****!" Tears began creeping out of her eyes, and she started to lose controll of the plane.

With an outburst of Rage, Roxanne froze all time, everywhere... and was unable to restore it.

"What the..." Roxanne found herself looking at the world around her... but not as she normally saw it. Thera floated in the air infront of her. Her image was made up of everything that had ever happened in her life. Then, as if strings were hanging off her, Roxanne could see possible futures hanging off her body. All of them connected to the current time. Roxanne wandered the mansion, were she found many of the students and teachers frozen in their spots. Each made of their past with their futures hanging off them. Roxanne accidently bumped into one. It was a little girl she hadn't ever seen. Roxanne pulled her hand away... but the timeline of the girl's life seemed to stick to her hand. It then began to grow and cover her body, untill she was seeing this girls past through her eyes. Roxanne felt so wrong... yet intreged. She could help but watch the rest of the timeline.

Suddenly, a dark laughter errupted from all around her. Roxanne was pulled out of the timeline. The laughter dissapeared as abruptly as it had appeared. Roxanne let out a yelp. The girl's timeline had dissapeared. The only thing Roxanne could see was her birth. Her hand was drawn to it. No! Don't do it! she yelled in her head... but her hand had a mind of it's own. Stop! Ahhh!

As she touched it, she watched the girl being born. Then... after birth, she was pulled out of the timeline once again. Before her stood a little girl with nothing. No past... no future.

Time resumed, and the plane started to fall once more. Roxanne slowed it to a crawl, but she was going to be unable to keep it frozen. She was too distracted... the girl before her was laying on the ground... dead.

    "PROFESSOR!!!!" Roxanne called in terror!

    Mansion grounds, downed plane

Although the plane was finally on the ground, Solar Flare continued to circle from above as he maintained his focus, which was to keep fires out. There would be no blaze of jet fuel on his watch. No sir. In typical X-fashion, the day had already taken a bizarre turn, but at least he could be certain of one thing. There would be no fiery disaster to compound what had thus far transpired and at least the rescue operations could proceed without worry of flames.

As soon as Professor Xavier opened the plane's hatch, Orochi went into action. He quickly evacuated as many children as he could as he worked alongside his fellow students. He used his Ki-energy sense to pinpoint those who were hidden as well as those who were injured. During one of his trips, he sensed that Hawk was himself in need of medical attention, but worked to help others despite his own injuries.

He had the true makings of a Hero.

Orochi sent the hardworking mutant a wave of replenishing energy, enough at least to last well into the day. Once he was done, he sensed another being in need, someone was fading fast and was in great need of assisstance. He quickly made his way to where Radiant Light lay, trapped, unconciouss and fading. Keeping her kids alive had taken a great toll on her.

    "Ok, ok, nothing broken...."

Orochi reached with one hand and ever so carefully removed the piece of metal that held Elaine captive. He immediately established a connection with her and supplied her with much needed energy.

    "Ok....gently, easy does it."

Scooping her up with both hands, he held her firmly and made his way out of the wreckage. Once outside, he laid her gently on the grass.

There was no time for hesitation now. He called on what healing knowledge he possessed and set his Ki to heal her cuts while he performed basic first aid to stop the bleeding. Even so, he wanted a Medical authority on the case.

"Professor N'dare, I have a Medical Emergency here!"

"So who named you?" The woman in the glasses asked him, obviously suspicious of him. He understood the hesitation to trust him, he was an outsider.

The thought process was natural, as the question entered his mind, "I don't know who named me, only that the name Modrin Casham was the only name attached to my memory when I awoke from my repairs." he stated.

"PROFESSOR!!!!" A female screamed in the distance, Modrin turning his head in the direction.

"I'm on it, X." the Raven haired teacher looked at the android, then motioned for him to follow.

"If you wanted a chance to prove yourself, well....it's here."

Returning his attention to the woman in front of him, Modrin nodded as he followed closely behind her, quickly gaining sight of the lifeless body of a young human female. The sight left Modrin speechless for a second, this was death...a human, no, animal condition. He would never die, only cease to function. Yet...wouldn't that be death for him? Or would the fact that his memories would still be inside his CPU be a state of coma?

"She's been dead just about two mintes, there's still a chance to revive her. Come on android, if you can understand and emulate human physiology, that makes you the best doctor in the house. Stimulate her biofunctions while I go fish for her mind."

Internally, Modrin ran through which of his abilities would be most apt to helping to aid the girl. Quickly, he figured out what he could do. "I'm on it."

Just as quickly as he had spoke, he was down on his knees. Channeling into his fingers he spaced two evenly upon the girl's chest. Focusing on decreasing his energy output to the correct amount, he pumped an energy beam of low magnitude at the girl's chest. The result was an energy shock like that of a defibrillator. Using his advanced hearing, he checked for a heartbeat, nothing yet. Again he pumped a small grade beam from his fingers. The beams were not strong enough to penetrate the skin, but enough to give the effect he was aiming at. Again, nothing. Again, the beam. This time, life. The heart had began to beat.

Quickly he shifted focus to starting up her breathing. Now that the heart was pumping blood again, the lungs would need to be started. Using his left hand to hold her nose, he generated a force field around the girl's body. As he tilted her head back with his right hand he covered her mouth with his. Simulating the breathing act, though it was no use to him physically, was a design implented in him so that he could both smell intergrate with human society better. The fact that he produced pure oxygen and could take in the exhaled breath of the girl allowed him to keep his android mouth to hers and act as an artificial lung as he pressed down upon her chest with the force field in order to simulate the lungs taking in air and forcing it back out. Like a sentient Iron Lung.

He just hoped that this would be enough while the woman dealt with other pressing matters.

N'dare had just finished removing the rest of the thunderclouds, and dispelling any other bad weather left behind when he heard Orochi's call below him.

"Professor N'dare, I have a Medical Emergency here!"

N'dare wasted no time, as he quickly dropped down to the mansion ground, as he located the location of the call. Iori was holding on to someone, as they lay on the ground. As N'dare's feet touched the ground, the call for a hover-unit went out. He quickly moved, to check on the woman who he quickly identified as Radiant Light.

One hand held a scanner that he used to pass accross the woman, to check on her injuries. The wounds on her leg would heal, but he needed to flush the smoke from her lungs quickly. Orochi was busy using his energies to take care of her depleated power. With a nod, he looked behind him, as a small hoverunit appeared. He quickly moved to it, and removing the oxygen pack from it, moved back to Radiant light, and placed the breather accross her nose and mouth, to clear the smoke from her lungs.

Karra frowned, as she saw the portal winking out. It was too far away to track. This time. Next time, she would be quicker. She growled in annoyance, as she scanned the area to make sure no other intruders or devices had been left behind for them to discover. As she did, she noticed the Android was now awake, and down below. With a final check, Karra zipped down to check on the being. He was talking to the other Professor, Sage. As Karra got closer however, something happened, and Roxanne called out. Sage and the android walked over to a young girl laying on the ground.

Karra got close enough to hear Sage speak to the Android. .."She's been dead just about two mintes, there's still a chance to revive her. Come on android, if you can understand and emulate human physiology, that makes you the best doctor in the house. Stimulate her biofunctions while I go fish for her mind."

"I'm on it." The droid replied. Karra set down nearby. Fish for her mind? Meanwhile, the android went down on his knees. His spread his fingers evenly upon the girl's chest. Karra watched, rather amazed, as the android, using his various energies, kickstarted the girls heart. Woah. Especially when he switch techniques. Not your normal program stuff there. She was very curious now.

She then watched him working on getting the girls lungs to start up. The light display, the android was putting out, accroding to her sight, was really facinating to watch. She didnt want to get in the way, so she stood by, in case she could help. She gave him a friendly smile. He was advanced. Very advanced.

    Wonder where he came from?

"Do proceed inside the Mansion. Jocasta will see to your needs while we tend to business out here. Perhaps later you will allow us to repay your kindness."

Xion looked around as the vision vanished, and was immediately sure he was insane, as well as a freak. Shaking his head silently, he shrugged.

"Uh... thank you?" He said to the air, wondering just who to thank.

The young man turned, walking toward what appeared to be the front door of the massive home. His shoulders slumped, feet dragging, he moved rather slowly. Such a strain on his still blossoming powers had left him weak, and actually rather hungry. Of course it didn't help that he hadn't eaten a good meal in days.

Snatching up his pack, Xion continued toward the mansion, watching as others cleaned up and went about their ways. A few may have shot glances at him, but he paid them no mind. He didn't know anyone, and drawing the attention of a man who could do something as freakish as fire lasers from his eyes didn't seem prudent.

    Just who is Jocasta, anyway?

Xion wrapped his fingers around the door, opening and stepping inside. The young man let the door fall shut behind him, surveying what must be the foyer of the mansion.

Under the circumstances, all he could do was whistle.

["Greetings, I am Jocasta, the Institute's fully interactive A.I. Welcome first time visitor. My scans show that you may be in need of food and rest, both are available to you here. Which would you like first?"]

The institute's A.I. gave Xion a welcoming nod and awaited his response.

    Roxanne Moore "Hourglass"
    Xavier Mansion

Roxanne watched as they tried to revived the girl. SHe knew that the girl would never be the same, her past presant and future had all been taken away, but she watched anyways. The android had gotten her heart to beat, but couldn't seem to get her lungs to work on their own.

After what seemed like an hour, Roxanne tapped the working android on the shoulder. He turned to her. "Look. She's not comming back. I know for sure. The heart... the heart can beat up to like... a day after one has died, but the lungs are gone. JUst... trust me. She's gone... she has no future."

A small tear ran down her face. More would follow once Xavier quit calming her down. Slowly, Roxanne turned and walked outside. She didn't know what was drawing her there, but something sure was. Her body craved to be outside... to be beyond the mansion gates. Maybe it's better for me... to go were I can't hurt anyone. She thought as she slowly walked towards the gates.

Time passed, and soon most, if not all, of the passengers were off of the wrecked plane. As Jack wobbled off of the plane, only to feel a rush over energy strengthen him. He stood stock still for a moment, trying to figure out why it had happened.

He really couldn't think straight. His mind was still swirling from all that had happened in the past few minutes. Walking over to a bench, he sat down. Looking over the yard, he noticed a child on the ground in the distance, some people sitting next to the child.

Jack wobbled over to the group, and saw that the child wasn't breathing. Everybody he took off was okay...

"Is.... Is the kid gonna be okay?"

A voice seemed to come out of the shadows. "Hello Ogre."

Greg involuntarily took as step back. "No. That's not me. I'm not Ogre. Don't call me that."

A figure stepped forth just enough so her shapely sihlouette could be seen in contrast to her alluring smile and piercing eyes.

"When will you finally overcome that shell of a human, it's almost embarrasing to see you brought down so low." the shadowy female intoned teasingly.

Greg's eye's turned the tell-tale yellow that they did when he was beginning to transform. In his mind, Ogre's presence seemed to grow, filling every corner of his head. A fading whisper escaped his lips. "Please. Just leave me alone..."

"Well, have you nothing to say for yourself?"

His eyes locked onto hers and the much gruffer voice of Ogre spoke this time. "I can take over whenever I want. I've always been the stronger one."

Modrin continued to work on the girl. The heart was still beating at a rate, while not completely optimal, was still enough to provide blood flow. He didn't know what the woman had meant by 'fish for her mind', but he could recognise that the brain functions had ceased to operate. This made it impossible for the girl to breath on her own and, soon, he would probably have to allocate more shocks to the heart in order to keep it beating.

He felt a tap to his shoulder and turned a little to his side to see a girl almost in tears. "Look. She's not comming back. I know for sure. The heart... the heart can beat up to like... a day after one has died, but the lungs are gone. Just... trust me. She's gone... she has no future."

Modrin stared at her, trying to process what the girl had just said as she slowly turned and walked away. Knowing he had to return to his duties at hand, he quickly went back to operating as the artificial lung for the girl. His mind could not decipher the meaning behind the notion of the girl having no future. He had no past, as far as he was concerned. No purpose to his existence, no mission to accomplish. As far as whoever built him was probably concerned, he too had no future. And yet here he was. Still functioning, still as alive as an android could get. He didn't understand what the upset girl had meant, but he knew he wished to give this young girl a new future, to replace the one she lost.

    Opportunity. Take it or pass?

Sage dove in and was at once throught the white barrier and into the Astral plane. She immediately donned her astral armour. A telepath of her magnitude knew exactly waht to expect here. She rose slightly and stood above her own body as she scanned the entire mansion. There were definitely some strange and suspicious emanations gathering about and she made a quick note to Erik, for at the moment she needed to find the Cassie's silver cord. As Sage looked at Cassie's still body, only the semblance of life was there. The android looked positively grotesque from this side of the spectra and there was something rather odd going on with Roxanne.

Why couldn't she remember? No matter, Jocasta would no doubt have the answers stored in her memory banks. That was one way to get around that problem. Chronal manipulators...hmph!

There was no time to waste, literally. Sage set herself in motion as she shifted further into the spirit realm, intently searching for Cassie's anima, her soul, her mind, essence or spirit. It should be trailing a long silver cord which all Espers, Occultists, Mystics, Psychics, Psionics and Spiritualists know, connect the soul to the body, but the strange thing was, she could see no trace of it.

Sage knew that Cassie was a good girl, so her spirit would take an ascendant trajectory. At her current speed she should have overtaken the girl and nothing, then she shook her head. Perhaps she didn't know everything about the girl, which was doubtful. Just the same, she travelled an equal distance in the opposite direction.

    Nothing.

Then a flash caught a flash with her peripheral vision.

The glow indicated movement back to the Prime Material World, so she followed.

There was no doubt that Sage was the swiftest of the two as she gained on the glowing form. She fixed a curious look at the peacefully sleeping girl as they approached their respective bodies.

    Nothing was adding up today.

    She really HATED that.

"OOooh, Yes! I can see that now. THAT'S more like it." soothed the shadowy female, now revealing more of herself to the stronger one. Her skin was flawlessly pale and resplandescent, her features exquisitly sculpted to such perfection that one would be hard pressed to even think of a fairer creature under the heavens. Her Jet black hair fell like long streaming shadows down her back and meshed into the inky froth of a nightdress that did little to hide her supple form. But her eyes, they were as deep as the Void and seemed to be rimmed by star nebulae, and her voice would compel any who heard it to fall before her in beseech her bidding.

"I know how to make your transformation permanent..." she said with smiling ruby lips and coy eyes as she approached with measured steps. "I can do this for you only if..." she paused, as her marble fingers lightly passed over his shoul

Shira was fast darkening to black. Her coughing and hacking became worse and blood started to come up with each cough. Then she was in someones' arms. "Don't hurt my baby." she pleaed not quite sure where she was.

Everything was coming in and out of focus. It hurt more than she could care to explain. "Robert...." she called weakly.

Blood kept coming with every cough. She opened her eyes again...though you couldn't really tell as she was all black now. "Please...my baby..." she said to the person carrying her...someone she almost remembered.

Robert ran in and out of the plan, evacuating as many people as he could, however, he wasn't running persay, he was teleporting. Waves in the air showed where he had once been, but was now empty. He took three people at a time.

Teleporting was something that he had little to no experience in and was some what sloppy, but he still was doing a miraculous job in helping all the people.

On his third time out of the plane he noticed Shirabell. She had helped a girl with a sprained ankle out of the plane. But after helping her, Shira stumbled over to the mansion, or as close to it as she could get. She started to cough slightly, turning into a darker version of herself. But the cough got worse and worse, turning her nearly black.

Robert knew that something was wrong and he had to do something. He ran over to Shira. He was about five feet away when he heard her mutter. 'Robert...'

He ran over to her, small drops of blood were gathered at the corners of her mouth. 'No, no, please, Shira, honey, please...wake up!' picked her up cradling her in his arms. Tears rolling down his cheeks. He looked around pleading for help, from anyone. Can't they see that she is dying! She can't die! He spread her back out on the ground. Robert's whole body stuttered. She was completely black now.

'Please...my baby...' Robert leaned down and put both his hands over her stomach. Closing his eyes. He focused on only her, her heart beat, her child's heart beat. Her's was slowing. He focused on her. His hands started to glow, the light grew steadily larger and larger. He was becoming tired, almost exhausted. But he couldn't give up, he focused all the more. The light continued to grow. She started to gain her color back. The light consumed the whole front yard, healing everything that it touched, including the plane. He stretched his very powers, until it was unbearable and he collapsed. The light diminished just as fast as it had been created. Then he fell next to Shira on the ground. He color was completely restored now and he smiled, kissing her, using the last of his energy he said, 'I will always love you, not even death can extinguish our light'. His hand fell onto hers, glowing slightly, then having a blue rose in it, he let the rose slip into Shira's hand.

Robert Mather completely collapsed now, falling into unconsiousness, teter-tottering in between life and death. But he had done what he would have gladly spent his life for, he saved the two people that he loved more then life its self, he saved Shirabell Jen Outra and her un-born child.

Continuation, that's what mattered now. All he could do was continue to assist the lungs of this poor girl. He could only wait while the woman he had met did something to this girl's mind. He did not know what, he did not even try to comprehend what. He understood, however, that whatever it was would no doubt be the best help possible for this girl.

So he continued to monitor the air pressure inside his makeshift-forcefield iron lung as well as monitor the girls lifesigns via his sensors. Perhaps he was a medical android? Could that be it? No, he thought, why would he need flight, the strength he possessed, the high power energy beams, why would he need them to the levels he possessed if he was a medical android? No, he was most assuredy made to combat something. That something, however, didn't really concern him at the moment. All he found himself caring about was saving the life of this girl.

The nerves began to fire, brain activity was detected. Her body began to shake from the activity flowing through it again. And, finally, just as Modrin pulled back his mouth and eased the force field around her, she began to cough. Slowly he raised her head again, the coughing subsiding and falling into a regular breathing pattern. She was breathing, her heart was beating, and there was nerve activity. It appeared that the girl would live, but he continued to monitor her life signs, waiting for the woman to instruct him further.
