Hey, I completely understand that, and good on you for caring about your body like that. I'm just saying that caffeine and pre-marital sex, for me at least, do a lot less damage to me than walking around on the street looking like this would.

No, you don't want to put forth the effort to ensure that your diet includes all the vitamins you need, so you take supplementary ones. That's not a medical need, that's pure lazy.

No drinking I allow myself up to 12 glasses of alcohol per year, and haven't filled even half that number in any given year yet.
No smoking I've only taken one puff of tobacco in my life and have no desire to repeat the exerience
no drugs Never ... I watched what they did to my father.
no pre-marital sex Not happenin' ... even in the million-to-one odds that I actually end up even dating a woman
no caffiene Pfft ... I have one of the highest caffiene intakes on the JC.
no pills of any sort, unless medically necessary Unless I have a prescription or a MAJOR headache, it's not happenin'. And even then, it's 50/50. That's not moral reasons though, it's just bull-headedness.

So, I sorta am a straight edge by that definition, but I'm neither aggressive about it nor into the bands mentioned.

 

Anyone sporting a haircut like that, should kick their own ass.

To be fair, there's nothing really wrong with the concept of "straight edge". It's like Buddhism for teenyrockers. It just seems silly that you have to attach it to a fashion/music/hair/XXX trend.

 

Hippies would pretty much be the opposite of "straight edge."

 

Well sure, technically.

But it's mostly because I haven't many opportunities to do the SINFUL ACTS OF NON-STRAIGHT EDGEDNESS more than any moral objection.

Basically, I'm a victim of my own laziness.
