    No, because then it would be before the Holiday Special. TEGTC states that the KD Life Day occured just before Hoth, and after the one in THS.

    Well, up up and away! I've completed part six, which contains the formation of Rouge Squadron, Luke Skywalker's Race Against Time, SW Kids: The Rebel Thief, Missions: Revolt of the Battle Droids, and Missions: Showdown in Mos Eisley. As this part contains more fan-fixes then I usually add, I'll take a moment to explain them.

    First and foremost is the formation of Rouge Squadron. As near as I can tell, Rouge Squadron's first appearance chronologically is Missions: The Vactooine Disaster, which takes place in the next part. Therefore, I have Rouge Squadron's first mission during the end of Scoundrel's Luck. I've tied this into the children's book Luke Skywalker's Race Against Time, and I've also put the Imperial spy from SW Kids and Science Adventures behind the scenes of LSRAT. Also, I've said that Luke accepted a commission in the Alliance when he joined Rouge Squadron. This isn't confirmed anywhere, but he has to get one before the Goodwin strips, and this seems the logical place to put it. Finally, I've placed a small continuity fix at the end of Part VII involving EV9-D9. She appears in Jabba's palace in the Missions books that this section covers, in spite of the fact that she is shown to be on Cloud City a few years later *before* going to Tatooine. I've tried to insert a fix for that, as you will see:

    Part VII: Rouges and Thieves

    While Han and the Falcon were racing Goot across the galaxy, a group called Rouge Squadron was taking shape. Formed out of the ashes of Red Squadron and under the capable leadership of Commander Narra, the initial group included Wes Janson and the two remaining members of Red Squadron, Wedge Antillies and Luke Skywalker. Skywalker, fully recovered from his bout with Bledsoe?s, finally accepted a commission in the Alliance when he joined the Squadron.

    In spite of the severe lack of fighters, Rouge Squadron was soon put into action. The Imperial spy that had ruined Governor Zissu?s mission had apparently tipped the Emperor off to the location of the Rebels hidden supply base. The Emperor promptly dispatched a Star Destroyer to wipe out the base, but Luke and the Rouges managed to destroy the ship

    The Millennium Falcon soon returned to Yavin base. Han Solo, still guilty over having let Vader live, returned what remained of his reward to the Alliance. Luke Skywalker labored tirelessly over his X-Wing, repairing battle damage. Luke was disappointed at not having been able to locate a new base for the Rebels?after all, was it really safe for the Alliance to remain on Yavin? Leia Organa and the Alliance leaders reasoned that, as there were no confirmed survivors of the Death Star, their base should be safe for the time being. Han Solo disagreed. Although neither he nor Chewbacca would admit it to the Alliance, they knew that the lead pilot in the prototype TIE fighter?namely, Darth Vader?still lived. Nevertheless, the Rebels turned their attention to rebuilding the Rebel Fleet, still not recovered from the Battle of Yavin. The remainder of Han Solo?s reward could have purchased several X-Wings, but the Alliance was forced to spend it on food, medical supplies, and parts for older ships. It wasn?t surprising that when Han Solo heard the ancient ?droid Q-7N had once guarded a pirate?s treasure on Yavin, he decided to take Chewbacca and the Falcon (newly repaired after its adventures on Mon Torri and Shador) on a treasure hunt. What was surprising was that he opted not to tell the Rebels of his trip.

    Meanwhile, Darth Vader spent time recuperating from the Battle of Yavin and Vellam?s attacks. The Lord of the Sith opted not to return to Coruscant for the time being. Instead, he decided to search for the Force-sensitive T-65 pilot that had destroyed the Death Star, although he already had an inkling of the pilot?s possible heritage?

    On Yavin, Luke, Leia and the ?droids deduced the Falcon?s destination, and set out for the pirate fortress in a landspeeder. At the fortress, Chewbacca and Han had discovered the treasure, and after dealing with a three-

    Why does everybody insist on misspelling that dang name?!? It's ROGUE!! ROGUE Squadron, not "Rouge!" R-O-G-U-E, like Anna Paquin's character in X-Men! Rouge is what women (and certain men) put on their cheeks to give them that "blushy" look! You make Wedge and the boys sound like a buncha crossdressers! Sheesh...

    Ok, Nightowl, calm down, I'll go and change all of the mentions of "Rouge" to "Rogue". (Durn spell-checker... ;) ) What do you think of the placements of the stories so far? They're pretty different from what appears in TimeTales. Also, do you remember if there's a source that says the Life Day occurs every three years, rather than once every year?

    Just to point out, the N64 "Rouge" Squadron game has the Rogues formed and led by Skywalker half a year after Yavin.

    >Just to point out, the N64 "Rouge" Squadron game has the Rogues formed and led by Skywalker >half a year after Yavin.

    Right, but that comes later.

    Here's part VIII. Not much by way of fan-fixes here. It's conjecture that Vader killed Rogor, but that's obviously the implication in the Imperial Spy comic. The details involving the return to Yavin are pretty much conjecture, but informed conjecture The Krytos Trap states that Tycho Celchu joined the Alliance after the Yavin evacuation, and as he appears in pre-Yavin evac Missions books, I have him joining after the initial evacuation in Imperial Spy. Everything else is documented.

    Part VIII: The Imperial Spy

    The Millennium Falcon and Rogue Squadron were then sent on a mission to investigate a lost shipment of materials from the planet Vactooine. The mission was a success, as it brought into the Rebel fold not only a Victory-class Star Distroyer, but legitimate business Hutt Boonda as well. However, Rouge Squadron took heavy damage during the mission. There was no doubt that the Alliance needed new ships, and so Han, Leia, Luke and Artoo travelled in the Falcon to the top secret Incom factory with the money gained from selling the Yavin treasure. After an Imperial attack and a meeting with Incom head Vors Voorhorian, several X-Wings were purchased, and the Rebels were ready to fact the Empire once again.

    Meanwhile, Darth Vader had recovered, and had retaken command of his flagship, the Devastator, commanded by Captain Wermis. Vader had also made contact with the Imperial spy in Yavin base?

    As the Falcon returned to Yavin with the new X-Wings, the spy broke into the base?s files and navicharts, and recommended a surprise strike force to Darth Vader. At the same time, a transport from Alderaan arrived, with Leia?s childhood friend Darlen. The Rebels stepped up their efforts to ferret out the spy in their midst, and he was eventually revealed: Lieutenant Rogor. The Rebel fleet quickly abandoned Yavin before Darth Vader?s strike force could arrive, leaving Rogor and much of their equipment behind.

    Darth Vader was so furious with Rogor for having allowed the Rebels to escape that he executed the spy moments after landing on Yavin, in spite of the fact that spies in the Rebellion were expensive and hard to come by, and of the help Rogor could have been in the Sith Lord?s search for the T-65 pilot who destroyed the Death Star. Vader and the Imperial fleet soon departed the Yavin system to continue that search.

    The Alliance, meanwhile, still needed a command center to coordinate Rebel activities across the galaxy. Without an obvious location for the Rebels to relocate to, and with most of their equipment back on Yavin, the leaders of the Alliance chose to return to the jungle moon for the time being. Many Rebel ships were recalled to Yavin, including the Millennium Falcon. The Alliance also welcomed many new recruits after the initial Yavin evacuation, including Alderaanian (and former TIE pilot) Tycho Celchu.

    As the Millennium Falcon made its way back to Yavin, the Empire decided on a new course against the Rebels. A massive Imperial attack was out of the question?the Alliance had abandoned Yavin once, and they could certainly do so again. Instead, a blockade was put in effect around the entire Gordian Reach. To help cover up the Rebel presence in the sector, as well as the details of the Death Star?s destruction, the Empire used a false spice strike against TaggeCo as cover, (although there was no spice in the sector.) TaggeCo, so the story went, had used its Imperial connections to blockade the sector. To support this rumour, General Ulric Tagge was assigned to command the blockade. This blockade would trap the Rebel command until the Empire could come up with something to equal?or exceed?the Death Star. Unbeknownst to the Imperial Admirals, such a project was already underway at the starship yards of Fondor?

    This all works for me! I'd surmised that as well (in regards to the Imperial Spy). Perhaps they ran into the remains of Vellam's forces and couldn't get out of the system?

    That's possible as well. I'm assuming, though, that Vellam and his forces were brought under control soon after Vader returned. Also, if the rebels couldn't leave the sector because of those forces, the TaggeCo/Imperial blockade would seem a little redundant.

    About the blockade, I'm trying to work out when command was switched from Tagge to Griff, as they both command the blockade at one time or another.

    >Doesn't Classic Star Wars show Griff as he starts his command of the blockade? I dont remember.

    Unfortunately not. It shows him when he's overseeing construction of the Executor, and the next time we see him, (just after the incident with the Night Beast) he's already commanding the blockade. Right now I'm thinking that Dark Lord's Gambit, the last story to show Tagge in command of the blockade, occurs during the Night Beast and other stories before then, as Darth Vader isn't present in most of them. Also, the blockade of the Yavin *system* with interdictor cruisers (mentioned in TEC as trapping Luke, Leia, and co. on Yavin) can't be the same blockade action as the Empire/TaggeCo one, as Luke, Leia and co. were away from Yavin at the time, and it's possible that interdictor cruisers weren't introduced into the fleet until Total Destruction. I figure that it's a tightening of the TaggeCo blockade, and could occur under either Griff or Tagge.

    Ok, the databank says that the blockade of the system went into effect just after the incident with the Tagge ship in the heart of Yavin.

    Also, I downloaded the SWTG for the Total Destruction summery, so I don't need that anymore.

    Well, I finally bought Vader's Quest, so I could see how it fits with Marvel's Dark Lord's Gambit, and it's not nearly as complicated as I thought. I've determined that Vader's Quest comes first, as it says on the back of the collection "Vader's Quest is a key, never-before-revealed link between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back and features the first face-to-face encounter between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker." Therefore, it has to take place *before* Dark Lord's Gambit. So why is does Darth Vader bother to get Luke Skywalker's name twice? Well, there's an answer for that too. When Darth Vader tortures a Rebel pilot on Centares in Vader's Quest, he gets the name of the Death Star's destroyer for the first time: "Sky-- Skywalker!" Vader does not learn Luke's first name in Vader's Quest! In the opening scene of Dark Lord's Gambit, however, Vader learns this from a captured Rebel at a refueling station: "L-Luke Skywalker...!"

    Here's the much-delayed part nine, which covers Marvel's Wheel story arc:

    Part IX: The Wheel

    The Millennium Falcon?s journey back to Yavin took several days. Luke Skywalker took this time to reflect and train. During his watch at the Falcon?s controls, he thought back to his youth on Tatooine, the memories of which grew less painful as time went by. He also spent time training with his lightsaber and remote, as Ben Kenobi had taught him, but Luke couldn?t clear his mind. He decided to try a meditation Kenobi had mentioned. Letting his mind drift free, Luke touched Darth Vader?s mind for an instant. The Sith Lord?s mind was so strong as to force Luke into a fear-induced coma. The Falcon dropped out of hyperspace to find advanced medical help for the young Jedi-in-training. Unfortunately, due to a drift in the Falcon?s auto-navigator, the Rebels found themselves in the right quadrant, but the wrong sector?and in the middle of an Imperial Military Containment Zone. There, the crew of the Falcon discovered a scuttled House of Tagge merchant ship, and an EV pilot wearing Rebel armour. Before the Rebel died, he revealed that the Empire had attacked the Tagge ship, and planted evidence to implicate the Rebel Alliance in the deed. Before the Falcon could flee the scene, they were set upon by an Imperial battle cruiser under the command of Commander Strom and a squadron of TIE advanced fighters. Fortunately, the Rebels managed escaped to the Wheel, a huge casino space station. The taxes on the Wheel?s earnings provided much of the Empire?s military funding. Since the galaxy?s gamblers saw the Wheel as a retreat from the laws of the Empire, that funding depended on non-interference from the Empire.

    In spite of this, the Wheel?s administrator (former Senator Simon Grayshade) allowed Strom?s forces to board the Wheel in pursuit of the Rebels?if his stormtroopers could capture them on the lower levels. Grayshade intervened in their mission, however, when he discovered that Leia Organa was among the Rebels. The former Senator of the Vorzyd Sector was infatuated with Organa. The Princess was taken to the Senator?s suite, while Luke, still comatose, was allowed to be treated in the Wheel?s hospital. Grayshade struck a deal with Strom: if Leia was allowed to remain on the Wheel, her travelling companions would either be killed or delivered into Imperial hands.

    Han Solo and Chewbacca, meanwhile, were scheduled to fight each other to the death in the Wheel?s gladiatorial pits. They circumvented this obstacle by faking Han?s death in the pits.

    In the hospital, Luke broke free from his coma with the help of Ben Kenobi, and he was able to confirm to Princess Leia something that they had only been able to suspect before?Darth Vader had survived the Death Star, and was now searching for them!

    Vader himself was in the mid-systems, on a planet called Ultaar. His search for the Death Star?s destroyer had led to a dead end? the Rebel information team Vader had hoped to interrogate had been wiped out by the cyborg hunter Valence. In spite of this, Vader soon turned up a new lead. The crew of the Devastator was able to uncover the nearest destination the ship containing the being whose presence Vader had detected en route to Ultaar might have been headed: the Wheel. The Devastator soon departed for the pleasure satellite?

    Following Han Solo?s apparent death, a distraught Leia Organa agreed to leave the Wheel with Senator Grayshade if Luke and the rest were allowed to depart safely. Grayshade, however, was impressed by Luke?s heroics?the young Jedi was prepared to sacrifice himself to allow Leia and Simon to escape. In the end, it was Grayshade that stayed behind on the Wheel, while Luke, Leia, and the ?droids escaped in the former Senator?s space yacht, only to run right into the Devastator. Darth Vader intended to capture the ship, and its passengers.

    Han and Chewbacca succeeded in liberating the Falcon from the Wheel?s security squads, who had been taking apart the vessel in search of the

    Ok, updates with parts X and XI:

    Part X: Rebels Under Siege

    The Star Warriors were separated once again after their harrowing adventure at the Wheel. When the Millennium Falcon reached point five light speed, the freighter began experiencing malfunctions in the hyperdrive, caused by Wheel technicians searching for the plundered Wheel profits. Han Solo and Chewbacca made their way to the planet Orleon, an old hideout of theirs, to affect repairs. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and the ?droids attempted to return to Yavin base, but every time the group neared the sector, something would turn up to keep them away.

    Meanwhile, the Rebels on Yavin were in dire straights. Mysterious TIE fighter attacks on the Rebel base plagued the Alliance, whittling away their forces little by little, forces still not rebuilt to their level before the Battle of Yavin. With the blockade in effect, the Rebels were unable to evacuate as they had done before, and the pilots and scan techs at Yavin were unable to locate the source of the attacks. Tensions rose high on the base, and General Dodonna tried to hold the Rebels together as the repeated attacks on the hidden fortress drove morale to rock-bottom levels.

    Luke and Leia finally made their way to the planet Centares, the outer-most of the mid-systems trading worlds. There they traded in Grayshade?s yacht for a less conspicuous Corellian ship, and learned of the Imperial blockade of the Gordian Reach. The pair also observed a House of Tagge mining explorer, bound for the Rebel sector. Princess Leia decided to follow the explorer, to try and uncover the true purpose behind the Imperial blockade.

    Unbeknownst to both young Rebels, the ship they were tailing was carrying none other than Baron Tagge himself. Darth Vader had blinded Tagge years before, and the eldest member of the Tagge line wanted revenge. The Baron had a lightsaber of his own constructed, and had trained to become an expert in dueling. But until the day came when he could best Vader with his own weapon, what better way to remove the Sith Lord from his master?s favor than by succeeding where he had failed? Baron Tagge had concocted a plot to destroy the Rebels on Yavin IV. Using an advanced turbine station hidden deep within the gas giant Yavin, Tagge could launch squadrons of TIE fighters without drawing attention to his base, while the Rebel stronghold crumbled.

    Skywalker and the Princess uncovered this secret base, and Luke, in a captured TIE fighter, succeeded in destroying the station, but at a high cost. Artoo Deetoo was badly damaged, and between the blockade and the recent attacks, the Rebels had used up most of their replacement parts. Worse yet, Tagge survived the destruction of his station, and swore revenge on Luke Skywalker.

    Luke and Threepio soon set out to probe the extent of the Imperial blockade, and to bring replacement parts and supplies back to the besieged Rebels. After a harrowing encounter with a Star Destroyer in an asteroid field, Luke set their small craft down on the world of Junction in search of supplies.

    Unfortunately, Valence the Hunter was on Junction as well, and Luke and his ?droid were soon spotted by one of Valence?s informants?

    Part XI: Return of the Hunters

    On Yavin, Princess Leia was coming to realize that her part in the Rebellion could no longer be limited to that of a symbolic (but inactive) leader. She finally convinced General Dodonna to allow her to go on a mission to the planet Metralorn, a repressed world badly in need of both leadership types.

    On Junction, Valence had cornered Luke and Threepio. The bounty hunter had been waiting for weeks to ?remove another ?droid-loving hypocrite from the galaxy.? He was fully prepared to shoot Luke dead?until See Threepio intervened. The protocol ?droid was willing to sacrifice himself to save his friend and master. This was something that Valence could not understand, and called into question some of his oldest assumptions and beliefs. The confused cyborg allowed the two to escape. After purchasing supplies and rep

    Hey Mav- do have a more recent version for the timeline of the period post-Yavin? (The Rogue Leader levels, for example)

    Randy over at the DH boards is asked if anyone could point him to a well-thought out timeline, it would probably be helpful to him for navigating the post-Yavin era.

    I figured I'd point him to your timeline, since it couldn't hurt- if only for the sake of Val's sanity ;;D

    EDIT- Additionally, if you could point out what parts are "iffy" or rather, open to different interpretations- such as the placement of VQ in relation to DLG, or the 1 month after Yavin figure mentioned earlier in this thread.

    We know that Darth Vader's return is a direct sequel arc to first four missions books.

    Here is a few quotes dealing with history in the first book;

    "It took days for Darth Vader to bring his damaged tie fighter to an imperial base to report to Emperor Palpatine."-pg. vii

    It implies to contact about the death star by referring to the DS in the next sentence;

    "The Emperor was already awhare about the Death Star's destruction having sensed a great disturbance in the force at the moment the battlestation exploded."-pg VII

    "As Termo and Tix struggled to reach an imperial outpost, Darth Vader traveled to meet with Emperor Palpatine in order to plot their next move against the rebel alliance."-pg. VIII

    The next time time is mentioned is when it switches to termo and tix are doing at the moment that vader reached coruscant(which has hightened security measures in place due to the recent death star's destruction);

    "For weeks, Admiral Termo had shared the cramped escape pod with Communication's Officer Tix."-pg. 5

    The first thing that vader does when he gets back to coruscant is have his tie fighter repaired as he goes to see Palpatine. The first thing palpatine asks when he sees him, is about the fate of the Death Star.

    In the next chapter in referring to the Liquidator Darth Vader says;

    "I was informed that the Liquidator was recently destroyed by the rebels"-pg 12

    Palpatine replies, "That is correct".

    Soon after that conversation, a messenger enters with a distress message from Termo and Tix, with information on where they have landed.

    Also interesting to note is that during the story arc, vader returns to coruscant to speak to Palpatine 3-4 times.

    I'm assuming that Darth Vader's return introduction might tie into troy denning's book?

    Any revisions to the first 6 months, or is the one posted earlier in the thread your most recent?

    Additionally, are those first 6 months able to be broken down into Jan, Feb, etc even though it's using the coruscant calendar? It would seem you're using two different calendars here.

    It'd probably be best to stick with a "months after Yavin", since not too many people know what month ANH happened in ::)

    Actually Dan Wallace stated that he used the 12 month calender in the Essential Chronology.
