Yoda: Dark Rendevous - What's the timeline?

I just picked up the new Clone Wars novel, Yoda: Dark Rendevous. It's supposed to deal with Yoda and Dooku's relationship. Last night I read the first 8 pages and there was something that made me pause and say, "Hold on."

One of the Jedi Masters talks about his encounter with Asajj Ventress. One of the cool things about Episode 3 is that the time in between films is supposed to be happening in real time.

So in the Clone Wars cartoon, Anakin kills Ventress in episode 19. This aired back in the spring. So how is it that Ventress is alive?

Without ruining the book for me, can anyone explain what's going on? Did Ventress survive her encounter with Anakin? Or are these conflicting stories because one is a Del Rey novel and the other is a cartoon for the Cartoon network?

actually, I don't believe that this is the case. whil most of the events are happening in "real-time," I don't think that is always true.

also, Ventress did not die during her encounter with Anakin in the CW cartoon, she just appears to. You'll find that Durge is still around as well, even after Obi-Wan busted out of him (this one I actually have a bit of a problem with).

It looked like Ventress died but it's not too hard to believe that she survived. Is there a particular source that chronicles or shows how she survived or when she did it?

 

not that I know of, but I'm not exactly up-to-date on all my Clone Wars knowledge. I haven't even touched the comics.

 

I just got the book, but i haven't really gotten into the clone wars.

But i do know that Asajj didn't die in her fight with Anakin.

A lot of what is coming out...is appearing to be based off the very beginning of the CW.

Like...within weeks of the Battle of Geonosis

 

It takes place 30 months ABG, plus a few days, according to Quest's timeline.
