    I'VE FOUND:
R2-D2 DROID FACTORY FLIGHT (HORRIBLE FIGURE!!!)
    MACE WINDU ARENA CONFRONTATION
    BOBA FETT PIT OF CARKOON
    PADME DROID FACTORY
    TUSKEN RAIDER CAMP AMBUSH
    BARRISS OFFEE
    RED BATTLE DROID
    ANAKIN & DOOKU SPEEDER BIKES

ALL OF THESE PACKAGES WERE TRASHED THOUGH. I ONLY BUY THEM FOR DIORAMAS. I GUESS THE LOCAL GANG OF TOY HOUNDS ARE BUYING UP THE MINT PACKAGES AND SELLING THEM FOR TRIPLE WHAT THEY ARE WORTH. IF PEOPLE WOULD STOP BUYING THESE TOYS FROM SCALPERS, NONE OF US WOULD HAVE A PROBLEM FINDING ANYTHING. WHAT A VICIOUS CIRCLE!!

I think the trashed packages have much more to do with the fact that they're only putting out a few cases of each new wave at a time...so the packages are getting damaged in the feeding frenzy that follows. There simply aren't enough toys on the shelf to pick through and leave the damaged ones. The scalpers selling are mostly case buyers at this point.

Same thing happens here, and now it's story time...

One day I walked through a Wal-Mart in the morning to see that they'd just put out two cases of newer figures. It was Collection 2 Wave 11, which I already have, but it was untouched. Two each of excellent condition Aayla, Barriss, Lama Su, and Imperial officer. Four each of Padme, Rebel Trooper, Analysis Droids, and Tusken. There were a few other dusty 2002 figures, but that was all.

After lunch I went back, curious to see how fast the figures flew off the pegs. Unsurprisingly most of them were gone. One Analysis Droid pack and two Tuskens and two Padmes were all that was left on the pegs. The aisle looked like a bomb had gone off in it, toys were scattered everywhere and beaten up...one of the new Padmes had a large tear in her card. Collectors starved for new stuff had done this, getting too excited and not taking their time to calmly look through the toys.

The point is that four hours later, not only were most of the new figures gone...but the ones left on the shelf were trashed. The lesson to be learned: If you see new stuff, take a deep breath, calm down, then start looking through the pegs.

(sheesh, I really need an editor)

I picked up Unleashed Darth Vader the first one yesterday at Frank and Son. It cost me $20, but I wanted it so bad money didn't matter. This Unleashed figure is awesome. Also, I will be picking up the Boba Fett Mini-Bust in the morning, I can't wait.

Frank and Son's is a collectable show held each wed. night and all day Sat. they have more than just Star Wars collectables. However there selection of Star Wars collectables is amazing. Some of the newer saga stuff is a bit pricey, but the POTF2 and POTJ line are no more than 7-10.00. Also depending on the quantity you are purchasing from any one vendor they will give you a better price per each item if you by more from them. It is by far the best place to go to pick up some of the older stuff. I know I can get loose vintage fig there as well for about 8-10 each and they are no less than C-6 or 7. The are located in Southern California.

Can you believe this? I FINALLY found some 2003 figures: Obi-Wan Kenobi Acklay Battle, Darth Tyranus Geonosian Escape, Anakin Skywalker Secret Ceremony, and Boba Fett Pit of Carkoon. On eBay I bought the SAGA TIE Bomber and the POTF2 Cinema Scene Jabba's Skiff Guards. At Rite Aid I found a couple of POTF2 figures: Gamorrean Guard and the Ugnaughts. I think I am broke now lol.

    The Drought has ended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tampa is back in the loop. Today, at work (proud wal-mart employee) I discovered not the same jumble of peg-pollution, but to my shock, and profound joy there were: Boba pit of Carkoon (x2) R2-D2 factory flight (sucks) Han hoth, Chewie Mynok hunt(Sweeeeeeeeet!!)and Wedding Anakin (frickin bad A$$$) Unfortunatly, being stuck on "idiot mode" i didn't buy the second boba fett, and I did a rather poor job of hiding it. After work, me and a friend went back for boba, only to discover it was GONE!!! Who knew that other people do "trench runs" at 11 o-clock at night???? I thought I was the only one!!! Well, I felt bad for my friend, and gave him my boba. Oh well. I WORK in the store, I'm sure I'll find another one... (famous last words) Good luck to all you trench runners!

This weekend I picked up the Playskool "Fast Through the Forest" set...beginning my Playskool collection.

I'd wanted to collect those but when they came out I had to get the AOTC stuff first, and then they disappeared. Thankfully I know where to get them now, and should be picking up some more soon.

I also discovered a store about an hour from me that I didn't know about before, lotsa carded POTJ/Ep1/POTF2...but none in good condition at all. And some of the prices they wanted were way too high for what would have to be an opener. They did have one that caught my eye though, a POTF2 Tarkin for only $4.50. Since I wasn't collecting during the POTF2 line but I love Tarkin it was a fun find.
