Lol that may have been me. [face_laugh] At that point I'd only seen Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Avengers.

I wasn't here back then. So it was someone else on another board that had said that.

Eh, you never know. Maybe that one person had seen Batman in a JLA/Avengers crossover and naturally thought they were teammates or acquaintances.

Personally the idea that people think the likes of Superman and Batman are part of Marvel is just absurd to me. Isn't that like one of the laws of culture or something? You'd think for such popular icons as Superman and Batman, who have endured for 70+ years, people would know that they belong to an entirely different company than Marvel.
    ---------------------------------
Regarding that angle of introducing Carol via other heroes, if its through Rhodey that'd be cool, but not so much the whole armor thing.

Guardians of the Galaxy could be a good place to introduce foreshadowing to her.

Oh geez, I remember that fiasco. I'm still half - convinced some of those were parody accounts. It helps keep my faith in humanity.

So were you one of those buttholes who shouted "Snape Kills Dumbledore!" at Harry Potter book parties?

Well, I don't mean for her to be wearing armor- just for him to be the Black Widow or Falcon for the movie. Having an Iron Man-like armor in the action scenes would be a box office draw that would contribute to launching the new character.

I mean, they don't have to do that way, nor is it necessarily likely- but I think it's a valid way they could approach things with her as a link between the Iron Man and Guardians franchises.

You mean be a supporting character in one movie and eventually have her own?

I dunno...for me it would be sorta unnecessarily dragging things out. Maybe it's because I like Carol's Captain Marvel so much (The current Ms Marvel moreso, but that's beside the point), I just feel it would be better to get her own movie right away.

But if she were to have foreshadowing, like, say, have a Thor-esque cameo like Hawkeye, be name-dropped, or introduce her character in a post-credit scene, that'd be great.

It would be cool if she was brought into AoU as a intel officer working with the Avengers.

He means having Rhodey be a supporting character in her movie, as a way to give the audience something known to latch onto.

OOOOOOH, well, when put that way, yeah, I'd be all over it.

Depending on the angle they do, Rhodey could be the best candidate for that, with both being military and whatnot.

Tons of jokes would come out though saying that all Rhodey is ever good for is being a supporting character. But heck Black Widow managed to come into her own well in CA:WS. If the same is done for Rhodey in that case that'd be great.

Yeah, that's what I was going for. And it did occur to me that it'd be a shame to keep Rhodey as an eternal supporting character, but I think if he had enough screentime people would be ok with it- and, much like how Cap 2 added a lot of momentum to the possibility of a Black Widow movie, maybe Rhodey in a Captain Marvel film would be the momentum needed to finally get a War Machine movie made.

The first official indication that Iron Man 4 might be a part of Phase 4.

Guardians is considered standalone but will connect to Avengers 3 (via Thanos), which confirms what people have suspected for awhile in terms of how Phases 2 & 3 relate.

I'm all for seeing Rhodey interact with others aside from Tony, so I'm on board with that. I'd say that Carol Danvers has rocketed to the top of my most wanted MCU possibilities right now. So needs to happen in Phase 3.
    --------------------------------------------------
I gotta be honest. The idea of a Phase 4 right now just seems so...unreal.

I'll look forward to it, definitely, but with all the build up to the 3rd Avengers movie, what could possibly top Thanos? As for the Guardians connection to Avengers 3, that's to be expected. But it still does make me wonder why they decided to introduce them this early if it'll likely be the most removed film of all of Phase 2. Maybe we'll find out come August.
    --------------------------------------
On another note, any idea when those Netflix series will start up? I'm still wondering how they can pull Defenders off, let alone with the characters that they chose. And if they'll be enough of a success that they'll consider Netflixing other possible Marvel properties.

Ah. I see. So War Machine is going to be surrogate Iron Man for all of the movies RDJ doesn't want to do. Got it.

The references made by Sitwell were for a news reporter in Cairo and a valedictorian in Iowa. People say that these are references to Moon Knight and Nomad respectively, but I don't think so since neither history fits except for the geographical location.

I was also trying to catch if any of the names on the bottom right of the targetting screens, but nothing stood out. And with around 50 names I didn't catch them all.

Once we get the home release, be assured that people will be dissecting those scenes like crazy. When you have something like a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, you don't leave any stone unturned because of possible future connections.
    -----------------
Did anyone have any freakouts to the post-credit scenes when they watched the movies in the theater in the past? For me (And I'm going to say these unspoilered except for CA:The Winter Soldier)

Iron Man-I stupidly left during the credits and didn't know about that scene until much later.
    Incredible Hulk-never watched in theaters.
Iron Man 2-This was the one that made me realize that there was more to these movies than just simple hero adaptations. I was literally shouting OMG when they showed Mjolnir.
Thor-Had no idea what that blue box was, so no reaction from me and just a confused WTF.
CA: The First Avenger-Already knew beforehand there was an Avengers teaser, so I just reveled in the excitement silently.
The Avengers-Definitely my favorite one of the lot. Opening day and there were tons of people. I was with like 10 of my buddies and we took up an entire row. We were all wondering who it was until he turned around and smiled that signature grin. Tons of "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!" and "OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOD!" from us.
Iron Man 3-Laughed at Bruce Banner's unexpected appearance.
Thor: The Dark World-A different reaction from me. Moment they mention "Infinity Stones", this was an "Oh crap...." instead of "OMG". I only have basic knowledge of The Infinity Gauntlet story, but I know that it's an extremely big deal.
CA:The Winter Soldier-Tons of OMG's on my part. Sad thing was me and my buddy were like one of two groups that were left in the theater. Can't these moviegoers take a hint already? They haven't freaking learned after 9 freaking movies?

Hoping we'll get some more surprises in Guardians of the Galaxy and other future movies. Whether they be introducing new characters like Captain Marvel, or introducing plot elements adapted from famous stories, I'm definitely psyched for anything that'll happen.

By 2028, the entirety of Marvel's films will take place after the credits.

I'm sort of tired of the stingers, to be honest. Cap 2's first one was fun, but the second...why'd that need to wait until after five minutes of credits?

My guess is that they're doing second stingers to provide closure and possible foreshadowing to the next movie SPECIFICALLY for the solo hero.

Seems to have started in Thor: The Dark World, with the first one for MCU foreshadowing and the second for Thor's series only.

I kind of like the stingers because they give other people I go to the movies with a rationale for putting up with my policy of sitting through any and all credits. So it's a Machiavellian sort of synergy. :p

Besides, I'm sure most folks can simply browse their Facetattletalebooks or whatever while they wait as the credits roll. Or simply go take a pi$$ and come back. I'm sure they credits will still be rolling be the time they sit back down.

I think Marvel oughta consider making special PSA's at the beginning of each movie featuring the titular character talking about the importance of staying in a movie until the very end. Each with their own spin depending on the character. That and they can also do the usual stuff of cinema etiquette and whatnot.

Sorta like the Doctor Who Day of the Doctor theatrical showing with Strax and his clone batch.

Seriously though, we could just go back to the era of "here are all the credits BEFORE the movie" and it'd be fine.

They really should just give remotes to every audience member that speeds up or slows down the movie. That would definitely be worth the $10 admission.
