A bittersweet announcement for sure; it couldn't run forever (especially with the episodes currently split into two mini-adventures; they're probably tearing through story and ideas and environments at a record pace,) but I hope that it stays on Disney+ or has a physical release so I can easily share it with my own kids one day. I had a really fun talk with my niece and nephew yesterday; he loves the series, and we'd already had a great time building the LEGO together. It's also been the one franchise show that has fairly regular releases with lots of episodes, a rarity in this day and age. (I can't believe I'm looking to a preschool show for this, but such are the times.)

One of the neat things about Star Wars is that this frees up the characters from this particular format, so we can see them continue to grow up in other media. Hopefully their future appearances track with the fun/optimistic tone of the series; I'd rather not see Darth Nubs join the main continuity. ;)

I do think it would be interesting to see them grow up after THR phase 3.

Didn't expect this to get a third season at all so it's nice it is officially getting one now.

Probably best that they keep this series set before the book series begins as the time period of the novel series is pretty dark for a show like this.

Ah, neat. I had been under the impression the second was the last for some reason, three sounds like a good amount to wrap things up.

Didn't the great disaster occur before the Starlight Beacon opening ceremony we saw at the end of season 1?

Also note that in Bell's second appearance there is no sign of Loden Greatstorm despite him being prominent in the first episode, putting the events after his capture.

If nothing else I could see some fun references to them in future works, like a book about star wars animals mentioning "noted biologist jedi master Lys Solay" or something.

This show has been a wonderful surprise and a very big hit for the High Republic. I thought the Acolyte would be the one but that went south and this show took off. Great to see its getting another season.

Caught up with season 2. Quite enjoyed it. In particular, the finale was way better action than one would expect of this type of show, and the main emotional throughlines of the season are impressively well done.

Some more details as I massively overthink a little kid's show
-Lots of cool design work. I especially liked the designs of some of the pirate ships in the finale
-It is a little disappointing Blackbolt and the Comet Runners only played a small role in the air battle rather than interacting more in a proper team-up.
-Similarly, it was a bit odd that they introduced Clave as a pirate on Yarrum with a distinct design and weapon and then didn't bring him back even as Salac recruited the various pirates of Yarrum, especially since there were plenty of reoccuring generic pirate models in the crew and elsewhere. And that Hurdi from the same episode came back.
-Speaking of missing characters, Vela from Firehawk Rescue acted like a reoccuring character in her short despite not being in season 1, so I thought she would get an introduction in season 2 like the Wrathar's Revenge from the same short did, but nope. Especially interesting since she is clearly one of Prince Cyrus' people.
-Which reminds me, we never found out who the Ganguls stole the Wrathar's Revenge from. I thought that was going to be bigger with how conspicuously they mentioned it "Not friends anymore" and whatnot.
-One more oddity: Having two back to back Raxlo episodes and giving him very different personalities each time. In particular, I think character development wise, might have been better to switch them around
-Wasn't expecting fossils in star wars but it is cool to see them.
-The tree on top of the temple seemed a lot bigger when they were traveling through it looking for the guardian than it normally does. Still, utterly gorgeous, and interesting action with the sloth chasing them up and down the branches.
-I am kind of surprised we never did find out what was in that wrongly delivered box.
-EB and Pord didn't know Taborr was Cyrus. Huh, for some reason I really thought they were royal servants he pressganged into playing pirate with him. Wonder where he met them then.
-Taborr's parents evacuating without him...what scumbags.
-Pooba start as Ewoks and become Wookiees. Fascinating.
-Monopod racing...wonder if it is supposed to be a safer alternative to podracing. Even though it puts the engine exhaust right in the pilot's face.
-Bulcha has the same droids as the nihil as well as the guard droids he sold the ganguls. I bet his main business is selling dangerous droids to other criminals.
-It really stands out how those spider droids are the only things with real blasters we see in this show. At least in ground combat, surprising amount of ship fire at times.
-I did not know when watching that the Yoda rescue episode was a tie in to another High Republic work, but that is cool to find out. Hmmm...I wonder if that and the Starlight Beacon ceremony can be used to determine approximately how much time has passed in universe.
-Also makes me wonder if the big offscreen mission the adult jedi were doing during the finale was something with nihil or drengir.
-Fun to see Ansen interact with that other bounty hunter and ace. He has really embraced being a creature tracker, but still can get ornery if doubted.
-The Dostans had very cool designs, I especially like their electroclubs. They speak huttese, so I don't think they are the native culture, but they are pretty removed from the spaceport population, so I wonder how they got there
-A water finding droid feels very star warsy
-Sad to see the smuggler from the SWTOR trailer has stooped to train robberies. ;p
-With the Ganguls gone, Taborr a bit less antagonistic, and a season 3 coming, I wonder if the Nihil will be more of the main villains
