CT Your favorite Darth Vader line or moment?

Similar to my thread Your favorite Yoda line or moment I did awhile back, now its what your favorite Vader line or moment. One of my favorites is when Vader says in ESB "Don't make me destroy you" just loved how Jame Earl Jones made that one line so cool sounding.

 

I always loved "General Veers! Prepare your men" since I was a kid.

It just makes you think "oh ****.... things are going to get real here."

 

The conversation at the start of ROTJ.

 

For me it's early on, when he's had enough of Motti talking **** about the force and decides to demonstrate exactly why pissing off a seven foot tall cyborg with magic powers is a really bad idea. "I find your lack of faith disturbing..." indeed.

 

As far as a line is concerned, for me it's, "Apology accepted, Captain Needa."

 

I have many favorite moments. Here, I'll put the one that came to my mind the quickest.

In ESTB, Vader immediately force chokes Admiral Ozzel from an entirely different section of the ship like it were nothing. He is not even lifting his hand to do it. In fact, he causally promotes Piett as if he were not doing anything else that required his attention. This just seemed to acceuntate the fact that Vader is extremely powerful, and he has no qualms about killing, even his own soldiers. It just made me go "Whoa!"

Great line, perfectly delivered. Sums up Vader's mood in three spat out words.

Literally the ONLY OT change I'm not fond of.

 

The other one is way too wordy.

 

Yeah. And it always bugs be how he says the "for my arrival" part. Just the way he phrases it sounds kind of annoying.

 

The Force is with you young Skywalker but you are not a Jedi yet.

 

The sillhouette, the line, Luke is there and the stakes are high. It's a face a villainy and it's awesome.

 

The lighting and design of the set, the breathing etc. One of the best moments in SW imo.

 

Sorry, but I just love the way he says NO here. It was terrible in ROTJ but ROTS got it perfect.

 

i liked 'Bring my shuttle " better too. the stuff they added at the end of Empire added nothing and detracted from the tension.

As for my favorite moment, i don't know. Everything in Empire is so perfect. JEJ kind of downplays his voice work, but it's so perfect , he took ordinary lines and made them sound amazing. I mean really "Apology accepted Captain Needa." There's nothing to it; except the way he says it.

 

Don't know if I have a favorite; Darth Vader is cool all the time. Some quotes:

"He will come to me?"

"Sister. So you have a sister. Now Obi-Wan's failure is complete. If you won't turn to the dark side, then perhaps she will."

"No disintegrations."

 

This would be my number one. Certainly a contender for the best SW moment ever. I think most of my other faves have been mentioned. I always enjoy his first appearance on screen when he strides in, looks around without saying anything and then carries on. His entrance to Echo Base is also good.

 

I love Vader in pretty much all of ESB. "Bring my shuttle" is quite great. So is the beginning of the film where he's pacing the Executor with an aura of authority and power, delivering his lines in a cool and collected fashion. I do love how he makes a 180 degree turn and comes inches from General Veers' face. "Prepare your men!"

 

My favorite Darth Vader moment also includes my favorite Darth Vader line from The Empire Strikes Back.

"The Force is with you, Young Skywalker. But you are not a Jedi yet."

 

I would say every Han's freezing and the lightsaber duel in the carbon freezing chamber are my favourite scenes in the entire saga.

The SE change to the dialogue is horrible and the tone of the delivery just doesn' t fit. Then to top it off they throw in a ROTJ outtake as he exits the shuttle. Thats possibly the most annoying of any of the SE changes for me.

As for Vader, I have to say his entire performance in ESB. His confidence and menace in virtually every scene, not only in JEJ vocal delivery but also Dave Prowse's performance too. He owns every scene he's in. Add to that the lightsaber duel in which his power and confidence just oozes through. The perfect villains performance throughout the film.

 

My favorite would have to be when Vader is watching Palpatine slowly killing Luke with the lightening. David Prowse's body language was perfect in that scene.
