Your favorite inaccurate Prequel "spoiler"/rumor?

Definitely the worst one in my mind:

Samuel L. Jackson playing the role of "The Clone King".

I can just picture him cackling while rubbing and his hands together and shouting "Go my precious clones! Go and start a war!"

...and at that very moment thousands of people across the globe get up and walk out of the movie theater.

I accedently ran across a "spoiler" months ago that said that the new villain that was to appear in ROTS wouln't be a Seppie!


Also I seem to recall seeing something about Asajj Ventress killing Mace in ROTS

 

Hate to bump my own thread, but...

I was looking through some old websites I saved on my computer a year or so before TPM was released, and one of them says that it was Yoda, not Obi-wan, who fought Vader; and that he knocked him into the reactor of the halfway completed Death Star. That's a pretty outlandish rumor.

 

I heard one for AOTC that Anakin tries to threaten the bouncer at that club with his lightsaber.After that Obi just mind tricks the guy and that's where the line "Why do I get the feeling you're going to be the death of me" would come in.


I also heard the Flamesaber rumor, it would have been cool if that one was true.

 

I remember from AOTC when the designs for dooku's saber came out and loads of people were saying his blade was a curved one, i.e. a scimitar blade. that amused me.

Also anything super shadow posted on his website about Ep2 & 3. Although to be fair his "stories" for the 2 films were quite good in there own right, but sadly far from correct.

 

I remember something on the Sith Council for Episode II and their headquarters were on Alderaan.

Who can forget Kitster = Boba Fett theory.

 

That they were gunna be good...

I would have to say my favorite by far was the Natalie Portman nude scene at the end of AotC. I knew that GL would never put a nude scene in his movie, and Miss Portman is known for not being one to take her clothes off (all though she did in Closer, yet they cut it). However just the thought made me happy.

Oh, and that the role of Anakin had come down to both of those guys from Dawsons Creek.

But really the Natalie Portman nude scene. That would have been so cool.

 

i can remember somthing in the papers in the early nineties about Macauly Culkin playing a young luke skywalker

 

My brother once heard this rumor (I have no idea if he heard it or was trying to make fun of me) but he said that Naboo was going to be blown up in Ep. 2 and that we would see the Death Star. However, this is rather outlandish since the Death Star was not buildt during that period of time between Ep.1 and Ep.2.

 

For ROTS ones, "Naboo=Dagobah" (less a rumor than speculation) has to take the prize for silliest.

And this was neither a spoiler or rumor, but knowing absolutely nothing about AOTC other than the title (and therefore that it involved clones), "Boba Fett" was in it (i.e., I heard about Jango, and thought they were talking about Boba), and what I picked up in my one viewing of the "Clone War" trailer on Fox, I somehow came to the conclusion that there was going to be an army of Palpatine clones.

Some of my favorites are Obi Wan dabbling in the dark side.
Darth Maul getting cloned and coming back
Nsync being jedi.
Obi Wan actually being a Sith in the first movie

 

-Anakin being a master by the time of AOTC, the youngest ever (wouldn't make sense but would buff up the Chosen One angle)

-Leonardo DiCaprio had "signed on" as Anakin at least nine times

-Anakin/Padme/Obi Wan love triangle

-Naboo is subjected to a war/plague that turns it into Dagobah by Ep V, which explains its absence from the OT, and the cave is really where Darth Maul landed and died (luckily, after the edit from ROTJ DVD we know this is false as we saw Theed in the celebration...)

-There would be two sith lords fighting over the spot in AOTC

-Jar Jar was the "Chewie" character (besides the life debt, just uttering those words would send Chewie fans into a murderous rage after the film was shown...)

-John Goodman would play a rogue, Han Solo-ish space private in the PT (WAY early rumor...) - actually thought this would be cool...

 

Padme was a sith witch. I just find it so ridiculous, but at the same time a naughty Padme is kinda of hot.

 

Another rumor I kinda remember (though I'm not sure for which movie) was that Natalie Portman would have a nude scene. Well, that's one that can be easily shot down by anyone who's at all familiar with Star Wars or George Lucas' work in general....

I remembered that rumor for ep. I.

I'm looking back at Entertainment Weekly for June 13,1997. Rumors on who will play who:
Harry Connick Jr plaing a Jedi; Claudia Ramirez will play "Lady Kenobi"; Alec Guinness narrate part 3.

About Natalie Portman she will play ""sensuous...Young Queen"" and in part two "will show the wedding as well as the birth of twins Luke and Leia."

also, "So much for the long-standing rumor that Obi-Wan
ould be played by Kneeneth Branaugh, or the latest gossip that Charleton Heston would sign on as another Jedi or perhaps even-good Lord-the yound Yoda."

and probably that Darth Maul was General Grievous....

Although, I guess that would be cool..LOL

 

I find a weird rumor in The Star Wars Communion or whatever book, that said that General Panaka was Darth Maul...
No kid! He was going to take off his hat and reveal his horns and tatoos and he was going to engage in a lightsaber fight with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan!
No seriously, I found this book in a libary and I read it! They literaly say it!
