    Looks like it would be good to use in a fight. Not too many extra buttons or knobs (although I assume that you'll be adding some later on).

    It looks to be based off of Obi-Wan Kenobi's, which is cool.

    My actual inspiration was a saber mod that I downloaded for Jedi Academy. Its called the Mark I, and it strikes a cross between Obi-Wan's saber and the Luke RotJ. Im the type of person to never be satisfied, though, and It will change in minor details over the next few days.

    I'm in Louisiana now, so I don't know, but I think my Randomsabers saber came a few days ago. I'll find out on the 9th ot 10th.

    Jedi_Outcast77- My grip is a tube from some sort of shop Vac. It was a little too wide to fit
    in my pipe I used, so I split it vertically and rolled it tighter. The seam is hidden by the solid part of the hilt.

    Hello everyone,

    I've been a long time reader/lurker of these forums and I have learned so much about lightsaber-making from so many of you posters. So, I just wanted to show you all my lightsabers.

    [image=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/JediBaja/Star%20Wars%20Props/DSC00105.jpg]

    [image=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/JediBaja/Star%20Wars%20Props/DSC00107.jpg]

    My first lightsaber based on Obi-wan Kenobi's in Episode I. Major props to Project Naboo/Graflex on helping me build this saber back in 1999. I know the button placement is inacurate, but at that young age I was stubborn and wanted the activation button in the middle. I used a wooden drawer handle for the pummel.

    [image=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/JediBaja/Star%20Wars%20Props/DSC00096.jpg]

    [image=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/JediBaja/Star%20Wars%20Props/DSC00259.jpg]

    My second custom lightsaber built in 2002. The grips and pummel were inspired by the famous BYB style VIII. The little metal "greeblies" on the emitter and pummel are those studs that you can put on shirts (I think?) that have prongs on the backside, which I bent to fit flat against the sink tubing. For some reason I can't find these anymore, but I still have a box of various metal shapes and sizes for future lightsabers.

    Both of these sabers hold a hollow blue acryllic blade lighted by a weak flashlight bulb.

    I've been planning to build or purchase a EL blade for years, but have always put it off. I already have a design for a hilt that I've been working on for months. Currently, I'm considering sending off my design to RandomSabers because I want a sturdy alluminium hilt for my EL blade. On the other hand, I still think I could pull it off building it myself.

    Those are cool. I especially like this one. What did you use for the bottom?

    Hi everyone, ive made 2 reasonably good sabers, but one for effects only, below is a picture of them, tell me what you think, apart from the blades are too thick.

    The yellow one is my effects one and the others are more for show:

    Here are lightsabers that I've made in a rendering program called Rhinceros 3D (or rhino for short):

    my 3D lightsabers

    I plan on having randomsabers make Katsujin-Ken, but make Water myself whenever I learn how to use a lathe. The others were just for fun. I espeically like how Kyle's saber came out. I made Kyle's by using dimensions I got from Sith Archives.

    So, what do you think? I tittled 4 of them after the 4 elements, but i haven't done Wind yet. Katsujin-Ken means "The Life Giving Sword" and Satsujin-Ken mean "The Life Taking Sword"

    Me and my dad built my saber. We started with a copper pipe then then 4 grip in-dents .Then we caped the bottom with thick circle piece of metal we welded it. We put this semi-ring on it so it hangs frome my belt. then we put 2 screws for buttons.For color we painted a 2" spiral down the shaft its black.then we put red bat grip tape in the 4 grip in-dents.the coolest part is I found this crystal at port A. weput it in the bottom. then for blade its black its a 3'foot slide in blade its pretty hard for plastic.sorry no pic.

    I used a showerhead found at Lowes. It tells you the specific model at the BYB website. To modify it I just added the metal "greeblies" I described about in my previous post.

    Thanks for the tip.
    it's good to hear the blades won't break. I wonder what your kendo teachers thinkwhen they see you guys sparring with light sabres? And if it ahd sound Fx, whoa. LOL I see his face now. As for kendo, I don't know off any around here I could spar with. Too bad all of us on these lists couldn't meet somewhere at onbe of the conventions.

    i used to do kendo but i think curuscant is to far away for me ;)

    Are there sink pipes that aren't chrome? I'm thinking of the "generic" lightsabers from AOTC that Plo Koon, Luminara Unduli, and Mace Windu (in TPM puplicity stills). I was thinking about making one. Look at the picture of Mace Windu's in TPM Visual Dictionary. You can see the glue on the "fins" at the bottom. lol

    Randomsabers is usually very quick with their replies. They were having troubles with their e-mail server about a monts ago. E-mail them again & you'll get a response for sure.

    You can get polished brass sink pipes, but they are rather expensive... where the chrome runs ~2.00 for a 12" piece, the polished brass is about 7.00. It dosen't make sense to me, because all sink pipe is brass, so it seems there would be LESS work involved with the polished pipe, but hey, I don't make the stuff. Another option would be to remove the chrome plating and polish the brass for a gold look, but I've done this too, and its harder than it sounds...
