    Well I do sometimes write fan fiction, so I'm of course excluding any original characters I've made.

    My approach is basically the ostrich approach-I stick my head in the sand and pretend anything made by Disney just doesn't exist. I'm not the type to be overly critical about "weird" plotlines when it comes to the EU (For example, the Vong are one of my absolute favorite arcs), but there is one specific arc that I feel is counter to the entire concept of the Force and thus I strongly dislike it- the Mortis arc, including Fate of the Jedi. I think the concept of "force gods" and some random woman drinking from a fountain and becoming Big Mouth Tentacle Fang Mommy is just stupid. The Force is supposed to be a part of life, in my view. Not superior to it in the way that gods are. So, my personal head-canon is episodes 1-6 and the Expanded Universe minus Mortis, Abeloth, and anything Celestials-related.

    Thinking about it very carefully, I have come to the conclusion that the best answer I can give to the question "What's your personal Canon?" is simply: “Depends on my mood”.

    It’s totally pointless to try to create a stable list of the things I like to consider as Canon. I tried, and the next day I always change my mind. It doesn’t work, and I think it's visible through the huge amount of useless lists I have posted in this thread. So it’s much better to say that it depends on how I feel on the day I am asked this question. There are days I like to end my own Expanded Universe with Return of the Jedi, there are other days I like to end it with the Young Jedi Knights series, and there are other days I like to end it with the New Jedi Order series. There are days when I think the Legends version of the theft of the Death Star plans is better than the Disney version, and there are other days when I think Rogue One is the better version and the Legends version is too convoluted. There are days when I like to think that after KOTOR I there’s directly the Darth Bane Trilogy, and there are other days when I also like to take into account KOTOR II, SWTOR and related novels. There are days when I like taking into account Dark Empire I, saying that it wasn't the real Palpatine but just a crazy Clone, and there are other days when I prefer to ignore Dark Empire altogether. There are days when I like to take into account the Legacy comics, and there are other days when I think it's best not to take them into account and just say A'Sharad Hett died during Order 66. I mean, it depends on how I feel, so making a complete list is useless.

    The only things about whose canonicity I will never change my mind are these:

    The Tales of the Jedi comics;
    KOTOR I;
    The Darth Bane Trilogy;
    Darth Plagueis;
    The Phantom Menace (original or a fanedit version)
    Attack of the Clones (my own fanedit version)
    Labyrinth of Evil;
    Revenge of the Sith (original or a fanedit version)
    The Force Unleashed (game version)
    A New Hope (original or a fanedit version)
    The Empire Strikes Back (original or a fanedit version)
    Return of the Jedi (original or a fanedit version)

    And that’s it. Everything else depends on my mood.

    Let's see... Where to begin...
    Two different versions of the prequel era; when dealing with stuff set during that period it's the movie version, with dealing with Rebellion-era stuff it's the "evil clonemasters tried to take over the galaxy" version of the pre-prequel era EU.
    In either case the Empire and the end of the Clone Wars was 35 years before ANH, it's the only way a lot of stuff makes sense, and therefore the birth of Luke and Leia at the end of RoTS.

    ---If you do accept the movie version, Padme's cause of death was a brain bleed caused by the blunt force trauma of both Anakin's force strike and hitting her head on the landing pad when she fell. It's perfectly treatable in the Star Wars universe, but not with the medical equipment on her ship or anywhere they could get to in time. (A better medical bay and a Bacta tank and she would have survived.)

    Mara Jade was the Emperor's only hand.
    Emberlame actually was a victim of the Empire as the Mistryl believe.

    Different stuff - X-wing series's depiction of how powerful proton torpedoes are in The Bacta War. Three salves of 24 (full strength X-wing squadron) proton torpedoes in quick succession should be about right to knock down a single shield arc of an Imperial-I or II star destroyer, two salvos a Victory-class. In that case if you knocked down the dorsal shields a lucky salvo or a few well aimed torpedoes at the front face of the bridge tower could cripple it.
    (No problem with 22 of them taking out a Lancer or both knocking down the shields of a Strike Cruiser and several that get though them hitting module connections causing structural failure. (If they hadn't hit them the ship would have survived. Until the next two salvos.)

    Rejected stuff:
    The Courtship of Princess Leia (because of just how terrible it is, although I do accept the existence of Hapies.) (And Wrath squadron actually did get Zenji.)
    Isard's Revenge (Plausibility problems, making sense problems and why even have this exist? Let Iceheart die in a fireball when her shuttle blows up at the end of The Bacta War.
    Pretty much the whole Legacy era and the Vong invasion (did you have to wreck the galaxy? Why not simply a more or less happy ending??).
    The ending of Wrath Suqadron (the first book) since it violates generally accepted principles (that's not how power production works, ships don't run on batteries), and simply is not possible as written. (No, one person cannot fly a Corellian Corvette. Or more accurately one person can man the helm, but the tractor beam controls are elsewhere on the bridge and more likely than not the gunnery controls are elsewhere on the ship.)
    The Choices of One (The ending of Allegiance worked since everybody wasn't aware of something important. This book everybody's motivations aren't believable and don't make any sense )
    The Force Awakens (plausibility again.)

    Borderline stuff:
    The Dark Empire series,
    The Hand of Thrawn. (Although Mara and Luke do fall in love and get married.)
    The Jedi Academy Trilogy.

    At first my canon started out more or less Legends but has since then kinda evolved and included lots of fanon elements, plus fanfictions, both mine as well as others, and also several NEU elements.

    My first rule is that everything, up and including the movies is considered "broad strokes", kind of comparable to the historical fiction novel "romance of the three kingdoms" in our world. The described events generally happened and the people existed but I don`t get hung up on details or just certain aspects I don`t like.

    Generally Legends is still my baseline but there are many deviations:
    1. I pretty much ignore TOR completly, for it has just too many aspects I dislike. Might eventually go deeper into that and sort it out but for now I´m just ignoring it.
    2. Revan and the Exile were both girls and neither was named Meetra Surik, nor did the exile just forget all of Kreia´s lessons to become just a sidekick to Revan
    3. Palpatine´s first name is Cosinga
    4. Maul died in Episode 1 and didn`t come back
    5. Ashoka did exist, but she was Plo Kons Padawan not Anakins, though Anakin and Obi Wan substitutet for Plo Kon several times when he was busy elsewhere. She still left the Jedi order, but not because Barris was a Traitor, but general dislike for the orders strict rules. She still fell in with the Martez sisters, but this time they never made it of Coruscant, being arrested instead for their smuggling attempt. Ashoka was still in prison, under a fake name, when the Empire rose, and thus avoided being found. She and Trace Martez eventually began a relationship and eventually escaped during a prison riot. Hiding out in the underworld during the Empires reign the two eventually get married and live happily on the liberated Coruscant. Until the Vong attack... Ashoka then sacrifices her life to protect civilians in the inthial invasion. Trace survives the war and later passes on Ashokas story to the public. Which is eventually adapted in the fictional "The Clone Wars" series that exxagerates Ashokas historical importance quite a bit.
    6. As said above TCW was an IU fictional show made many decades after TCW during the time of the galactic Alliance. It takes many liberties with the events its depicting
    7. Ventress meanwhile was way closer to her TCW self than her comic book version (though several elements of the Comic Book persist as rumors surrounding her), she and Obi Wan were also somewhat into each other. She survives the war as in my canon she joins up with Lassa Rhayme, becoming her right hand woman for many years.
    8. For the Age of the Empire I include the Tarkin (minus Sheev) and Lords of the Sith novels, from the new canon. Plus the plot of Lost Stars up until Endor (not sure on how to conclude that yet)
    9. Fallen Order is included as well, with the caveat that it takes an alternate ending from a fanfiction I can`t link here, were Cal actually manages to save Trilla, though at the cost of Ceres life. Cal, Trilla and Merrin eventually settle back on Dathomir and form a new tribe with other Nightsister Survivors and other outcasts and escaped slaves.
    10. Some bits and pieces of rebels, most certain characters. The main plot didn`t happen though as Calbe Dume died during order 66 as his master was in prison and a coma at the time.
    11. Including pretty much all stories from "A certain point of View 1+2" and yes that means Tarkin is bi in my headcanon
    12. Including the "Black Sheep" and "Caines Heroes" RPG from this very forum
    13. The Dark Empire Palpatine was a insane Clone, just like Mara suggested
    14. Eryl Besa survived the events of SBS
    15. Includes the "The Last Stand RPG" as companion piece to LotF, also through it all of @Adalia-Durron lore on the character of the same name
    16. Jacen survives the end of LotF, though this remains a secret with only his family a few close friends knowing the truth. For the rest of the galaxy and later historians he died there.
    17. Includes my fanfictions, primarilly but not limited to Jacen´s adventures after LotF and the Eriaduan expansion into the deeper Southwest of the Galaxy.
    18. Legacy is somewhat more broad strokes than most of the other material but remains.
    19. Parnassos is a thing, and Phasma and her tribe exist there but of course no first order lands there
    20. Generally all the ST/NEU worlds and species exist
    21. The GoL is canon to me, with Mira Grau being a Jedi master and council member in the time between FotJ and Legacy

    I suspect as I go on to read and write more, further stuff will change about this but its what I currently have and what I´m comfortable with.

    @Anedon
    I like your ideas about Ahsoka, even though I have a different version.

    In my head-canon, she has the same personality as her Rebels version and the same physical appearance as her own adult version that is seen in the Mortis arc in TCW. She was trained by a random master who has never been seen in the films and was never part of the Council, one master among many, and was appointed as a Jedi Knight before the Battle of Geonosis. During the Clone Wars, she was 22 years old (the same age as Anakin in ROTS) and was in command of her own battalion of Clones. She fought heroically during the war, as she was convinced that it was necessary to restore peace to the Galaxy and defeat the Separatists and the Sith. However, during the course of the war she began to mature ideological and philosophical differences with the Jedi Order and begun to convince herself that the strict rules of the Order were wrong, so much so that she started to develop feelings for one of her commanders. She even planned to leave the Order and go her own way after the war, but unfortunately she was killed during Order 66. She never had anything to do with Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padmé, etc.

    I agree on this too. As far as I'm concerned, everything post-NJO is an IU fanfic/work as well.

    Yah TCW has a lot of issues. I just reject the whole series. My biggest gripe is that it barrows heavily from the EU then completely disrespects it. Ryloth is tidally locked, that's what makes it interesting! And Lego doesn't have to exist. We got it in Episode I from a 6 year old repeating tales he's heard or overheard them talking about. The stories are just tall tails they tell each other, never claiming they went there themselves, it doesn't actually exist.
    Moving on to what's more along the lines of fan theories...
    The "Kessel run in 12 parsecs" is by far best explained by Han making up stuff to impress who he things are a couple of ignorant locals (hicks?) who wouldn't know any better. The script even says "he is obviously lying," what more do you need?
    (That said, for story reasons I'm accepting the version with the Maw cluster. However it can't be a realspace trip since it would take centuries, but then how does the Empire chase you? (I found a solution for the next story I'm going to write.)

    The biggest problem with the "18-19 years of Empire" theory is that Obi-wan could be in his 50's, which for a Jedi is toward the end but still within "fighting age," but he winds up in his 70's with the old 35 years figure. Even worse, a newly minted Jedi Knight of 20 years old just before the purge wouldn't even be 40 yet, and still in prime fighting age!

    Super Star Destroyers come in two sizes - the 11 mile/ 17700 meter one from TESB and RotJ (an ILM employee is on the record as saying they scaled it to 11 miles, which is at least as good as an actual line in a movie as far as I'm concerned and settles the matter for all time as far as I'm concerned, and analysis comes out to about the same.) The other is the "economy" 8 km version. (Such as Iceheart's flagship in The Bacta War.) (I've got a lot of theories regarding that ship.)

    The Home One is 3800 meters long (from analysis), and mounts 144 turbolasers (the oldest reference is a placard when the models first went on display shortly after the movie gave "35 batteries of 5," I'm off by one for 4-gun batteries,) and 72 ion cannons.
    MC80's at 1200 meters are the smallest Star Cruisers, and half or even more Star Cruisers are bigger, some flagships 2200 meters+..

    I love this idea! I think that the next time i'll be seeing TCW i'll try to watch it with this mentality. As if i was in-universe, as Galactic Alliance citizen, tuning into the HoloNet at saturday morning, see how it works lol.

    Right now, I feel pretty detached from Star Wars. I don’t care about it as much as I did in the past. Aside from the absolute core of the Saga (which is the films) I don’t care about it at all. Therefore, right now my personal Canon is:
    • Episode I: The Phantom Menace
    • Episode II: March of the Clones (my fanedit)
    • Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
    • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
    • Episode IV: A New Hope
    • Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
    • Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
    That's it. I stopped caring about anything Cannon or Legends, I don’t care anymore about any TV show or any new movie they will eventually release; I don’t care anymore about any book, comic, or video game. I only care about what I listed above. This is Star Wars to me right now. No more, no less,

    Timeline 1-the EU as we know it.
    Timeline 2-the NEU as we know it.
    Timeline/Dimension 3-the Infinity Realm-Infinities, alternate game endings, Choose Your Own Adventures stories, Visions, Legos, Indiana Jones, everything else, etc.
    The Bedlam Spirits create Timeline 2 to hide from the Celestials, but once they leave to complete their plans of conquest (The Cosmic Wars) in Timeline 1, the Celestials take over caring for timeline 2. Timeline 3 is an experimental Realm for the Bedlam Spirits.
    Typhojem inadvertently connects the three Realms, so everyone except in a few rare instances exist in all 3 Realms, and there are many similarities. Palpatine surviving ROTJ, a Skywalker descendant falls, etc.
    And the Celestials take over caring for the Infinity Realm once the Second Cosmic War ends.
    And when the 7th Seal is destroyed, the 4th Cosmic War begins. Everyone from the EU, NEU, and Infinity Realm are involved.
    Once the Father of Shadows is defeated, those in the Light can rest forever more, the evil ones are in hell forever more, and a select few like R2-D2 and C-3PO join the Celestials in forming a new Galaxy/timeline, which, will be the next reboot when that inevitably happens.

    Everything from the OT, old comics, PT, EU, ST, NuCanon, etc... Everything. Including licensed but unpublished material. There's stories I like more than others, and stuff I haven't read yet, but I don't reject it.

    I do also include some fanfic:
    Fialleril's Tatooine Slave Culture lore which greatly expands on Anakin and Luke’s relationships to Tatooine.

    Tales from the OneCanon

    and two authors attempts to finish out Legends stories:

    HandofThrawn45's stuff, https://archiveofourown.org/users/HandofThrawn45/pseuds/HandofThrawn45
    • Sword of the Jedi Trilogy
    • Twilight of the Republic Duology

    And QualityAutism's three excellent junior novellas that conclude the Jedi Prince series. https://m.fanfiction.net/u/15484227/

    My own personal canon

    The Original Trilogy, Rogue One and Andor are true expressions of what happened in a galaxy far far away (although there is some question as to the true nature of the ewoks )

    The Prequel Trilogy and some of the Clone Wars novels are an approximation of events, to the best of our current knowledge - written way after the events and within the context of the destruction of much that was written at the time and Imperial propaganda (the 2 not being entirely unrelated). One day, hopefully, more sources will come to light and we'll be able to re-write those stories and get closer to the truth.
