I'm sure Ethan Hunt will probably still think that character is an ***. Or maybe I'm thinking of his character from the movie version of Clear and Present Danger.

 

It’s here and it looks incredible! Love the desert setting. And the action scenes look as thrilling as ever. Some interesting new characters. Bring it on!

 

This entry in the Mi series gives me Skyfall and The Dark Knight Rises vibes! Oh yeah! Really excited.

 

Oh, wow! Tom Cruise running! We've never seen anything like that before!

 

The motorcycle stunt looked cool.

 

I always like these movies up until the moment Cruise starts running. Then I suddenly think "what kind of ridiculous thing am I watching".
But apparantly it's a feature

For sure it has Skyfall vibes no doubt i thought same thing lol, Javier Barden in part 2 as Ethan Hunts old buddy and now new enemy lol

Saw it last night. Some great individual parts, especially the car chase in Rome, but on the whole I thought this was a step down from Rogue Nation and Fallout. Also, I’ve liked Haley Atwell and Pom Klementieff’s work in the MCU well enough, but their performances here are on another level.

like the last few villains have been guys bent on nuclear annihilation to restart the world, but the Entity as a freaky unknowable AI pushes it to sci-fi territory which is pretty unexpected

 

I saw it tonight. It felt shorter than its run time. The opening sequence was good. Excellent acting throughout. It’s fine as an action movie. The characters are the best part,

I liked it about as much as the last few MI movies more or less.

Was this setting up Part 2 possibly including a lengthy flashback of Ethan Hunt’s origin.

 

The most important question: does anyone in the movie, for the first time ever, display any personality at all?

 

Ethan brings back his sleight of hand trickery to great effect, a character trait that has been sort of forgotten for the last few decades since 1996 Mission: Impossible but he's suddenly way into it again. Probably because Kitridge shows up from '96 as well.

 

Yeah I. . .when they explained the villain/problem of the movie it just sounded like the dumbest possible thing imaginable. The whole film I never really shook that impression.
