Imagine that Tarkin wasn't Peter Cushing but someone else - with the same lines and actions. Would you be assessing him exactly the same? Or does his "being played by Cushing" make a difference to your assessment of his personality and actions?

The fact Wullf doesn't speak in SW doesn't void the fact he deserves visual consistency, Fett.

Darn straight the man makes the difference, IL! If Tarkin weren't Sir I'd have to even see if he 'spoke' to me at all to warrant analysis.

Stephen's Tarkin is not Sir's but I do appreciate his striving.

Which is kind of the point - the movies are limited by the medium. Tarkin is more than Cushing, or Stanton - he is a character of his own, who they only play - whose actions are in a lot of things - movie, TV series - and book.

When people only pay attention to him in the conference room, they may assume his uniform is entirely white/cream since you only see his upper body, like Hasbro did when they put him in the DS Conference Room set. I'm saying they should stay consistent with him outside the conference room, too... Black pants, black cap.

For some. It is the point indeed. The one performing impresses the Part. Each time it changes so does the Character and some reject said differences.

When I got to the part in Tarkin where it was said that Yularen was a colonel in the ISB, I thought there would be a huge opportunity to have him appear as a superior to Kallus. But yeah, towards the end of the novel it gets revealed that there is a rearrangement of personnel and departments, and that Naval Intelligence was folded into Military Intelligence with Yularen heading it. That still leaves plenty of opportunity for him to appear, but if he's in charge of intelligence, I can't imagine he'd really be the center of attention in the pursuit of the Rebels. But perhaps more likely just to make one or several small appearances via hologram to tip off Vader to where the Rebels are.

I make no such assumptions. Mouse as shown clearly they do what they want not what makes sense.

Ever compared an aged Wullf Yularen with Gilad Pellaeon? Wow.

Veteran officers like him, old, competent and respectable toward his troops, and POW's, would actually be a great addition to Rebels and give the Empire the edge it still needs. Sort of their version of Erwin Rommel.

Yularen's voice actor in TCW actually directly compared him to Rommel. But this comparison only works when the Empire is around.
Another problem is that the secret services are not exactly the services where you can show honour to the enemy. Even your own side better does not know too much... I remember the old EU tended to demonize the ISB-agents a lot.

    Not canon, but nice:

Nice. Seriously didn't even know he did. Unfortunately Admiral Yularen will never be. With Darth Vader 1# implying that everyone except Cassio Tagge was killed, they can't find a way to let him live past the point of the death star's destruction somehow.

But i do like to see how he handled ISB activities. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kallus report/consult with him in some way either. Think that would be a pretty logical way for them to go, and for him to get an appearance, if they ever decide to explore it's inner workings some more instead of having Kallus chase the Ghost crew all the time.

Coincidental? Yes, i'm sure he would have many other superior officers to report to. But he's a familiar face among fans. And i'm pretty sure the beginnings of an Rebellion would draw Yularen's attention where it's required, where Kallus is doing the fieldwork.

Well, it's canon in that he had the rank of Admiral in TCW, and that's how he appeared in ANH... the only thing they got wrong aside from the rank/appearance disconnect are the legs! But it's easy enough to swap them out with black Lego legs for a more ANH-accurate appearance.

Or, keep it as-is, but print out a Grand Admiral sticker and place it over his rank badge to have a Legends Grand Admiral Pellaeon :D

Yep; I think the idea is that it's this year's May The 4th promo figure (buy $X in SW Lego sets from S@H or in Lego Stores, get Yularen, like Darth Revan last year)

To me the minifig being real is a hint that Wulf may show up in Rebels. If I know Lego like I think I do, they generally avoid the more obscure characters. This is possibly hinting his appearance in the show! :)

*Looks up the Canon article for Naval Intelligence...*

Huh, Screed got recanonized? Funny that... Actually if we were to get Yularen in Rebels, I'd like to see him acting as Agent Kallus's superior... show more of the ISB and COMPNOR machinations.
White tunic with black pants and black cap is the uniform for ISB intelligence officers in the EU.

No. A white uniform is for a Grand Admiral in the EU (with or without gold epaulets), but regular Admirals wear gray uniforms as we saw with Ozzel & Piett in ESB & ROTJ. A Grand Admiral's rank badge is much closer to Grand Moff Tarkin's, with two rows of 6 pips: 3 columns of blue, then 3 yellow pips over 3 red pips.

Yularen's outfit was never supposed to be all-white, either, as I've stated multiple times. He wears a black cap & black trousers, visible outside the conference room:

I think Yularen will be like Tarkin and suspect who Vader is
