Fanclub Yuuzhan'tar: The Yuuzhan Vong Homeworld

So I'm curious, what does Yun-Lingni represent? I find it a bit odd the SW encyclopedia would create another Vong deity with no prior reference in any primary source material. I wonder why that was done.

Maybe that was done because of planned NJO Volumes not published, s. Knightfall Trilogy. Or the continuation of the Invasion Comic line. Actually I couldn't imagine a lower deity than Yun-Shuno, so maybe at some point Yun-Shuno replaced Yun-Lingni and the latter name wasn't removed from the story panel?

 

Maybe it was in preparation for the planned Vong appearance in TCW?

 

The SW encyclopedia came out in 2008. The invasion comic was in 2012-2013. The timeline doesn't line up. Also Yun-Lingni is referred to as a "he" whereas Yun-Shuno is female.

Possible I guess. Someone should ask Hidalgo or whoever was involved with it if they remember that.

These concepts don't have a deity in the Vong religion that represent them. So I would think its something along that line(though I'm probably putting more thought into it than whoever added that to the encyclopedia).

 

It's been a minute....but the Ahsoka series. I'm still holding out hope that Filoni is going to introduce the Yuuzhan Vong into canon.

 

@jhc36 That would be great - what minute are you hinting at or is that phrase for something high contextual metaphorical? I have seen the Ahsoka series recently.

If they were going to introduce the Vong, they would have done so by now.

I don’t think they will.

 

I had never imagined Peridea to belong to the YV galaxy. Perhaps the GFFA is the satellite galaxy to the YV galaxy.

 

I would have loved to know all the Lore of the Yuuzhan Vong Galaxy i would have liked to read a Prequel Novel with the Vong as Protagonists

 

A prequel novel? We need a whole prequel trilogy about how the situation was on the world ships before they entered into this GFFA. The time when Shimrra and Tsavong Lah plotted against Quoreal and Czulkang Lah. Then a TOR-like pre-prequel trilogy about the time when the Yuuzhan Vong left their galaxy.

 

More Vong stories pre NJO would be amazing

 

Just read The High Republic, Adventures, 9 (2021) and there is ... a vonduun crab mask - in the timeline 231 BBY. So the Jedi named Qort for the longest time in the series is a crab guy. An easter egg for sure, because it takes a while until the Yuuzhan Vong will enter the galaxy - and I liked it. Maybe we'll see some more YV content in the future.

Realistically they wouldn’t be in a rush, the Vong have a specific story context and you can’t just drop them in any story

 

Its not as SE isn't legends canon. I have stated elsewhere how much I despise the idea though. I don't want to rehash my flaming animus against SE on this thread.

Also, I don't see why worldships couldn't be grown organically.

A specific context that doesn't exist in canon, nor do the Vong fit canon tonally whatsoever.

 

In general they’ve held off on a lot of Legends concepts/characters outside of Zahn’s work, but I don’t know that that means we’ll never get anything else or that there’s a specific timetable these things operate under.

 

Dead ass, I would SHAMELESSLY endorse a third return of emperor Palpatine as a herald of the Vong

or shall I say, Overlord Palpatine

Palpatine initially fought the Yuuzhan Vong and pretended to have erect the Empire to defend the galaxy from them. But before becoming their new overlord he has to get past Onimi.
