Zonama Sekot??????

When will they bring this planet back into the mix and connect the two stories to eachother. Also, when will Luke Skywalker meet Vergere and have her give him great insite into the old order, and into his father as a child?

 

I am searching the deep recesses of the Lucasfilm databases, and I find....nothing.

Maybe it'll happen toward the end of the NJO. I'm not sure if they're planning to bring Zonama Sekot back into the story, but you never know. It'll probably be referred to by the time the series is over.

 

Zonama Sekot is the planet from 'Rogue Planet'. It's the Vong's first entry into the galaxy, as a scouting mission. They mention this mission a little bit in the Yuuzhan Vong issue of SW Gamer (#8, I think).

 

Try Rogue Planet Kuller. The Vong Advanced Force attacked the planet more than fifty years before the start of the NJO, and it was Vergere who got them to stop their attack. Zonama Sekot produced bio-tech ships, the fastest in the galaxy at that time. The advanced force was trying to learn the secerts of Sekotan ship building, and when the the people of Zonama Sekot refused to share their secert, the Vong attacked them.

Personally, I'd like to see the planet return and start producing bio-tech X-wings.

Actually, isn't there laminaminum (sp?) armor on Lando's YVH droids? Doesn't that stuff come from Zonoma Sekot? Although it's probably also manufactured elsewhere, since it's 35+ years since Anakin and Obi-Wan went there. Rogue Planet wasn't the greatest SW book, IMO, but interesting anyway since it was one of the first glimpses of Obi-Wan and Anakin's relationship. The planet itself was written to be so awesome and mysterious that it was dull and predictable. But that's just my humble opinion...

Is this explicitly stated anywhere? Is the Vong's first entry (whether it be ZS or otherwise) stated explicitly anywhere?

I mean it seems like a bit of a coincidence that their first entry into the galaxy and they happen upon ZS.

Even if they didn't just 'happen' upon it, and they actually learned about it, this would require a scout/spy network to have already been strongly established. Furthermore, I imagine that if they'd just entered the galaxy, I doubt finding out about ZS bio-tech would be that high on their list of things to do.

Please, this is all just speculation on my part, so if my reasoning is flawed by way of facts I am unaware of, please enlighten me.

I mean, you enter a galaxy. What are the chances you find out straight away about some obscure technology on some obscure world any time soon? And why would you go straight for that when you find out about it. They've got more important things to do- scouting things. intel things. They advance team wouldn't have been there with a mind towards furthering Vong technology, would they?

 

ZS, just like Vergere, will likely rear its head again.

Otherwise the inclusion of RP into the storyline by DR was JPS.

 

In the essential gide to aliens it says that the Vong where scouting the GFFA as far back as 50 years bby.

 

The reason you cant find Zonama Sekot? Go ask the bear clan...

Ok, let's look at a brief timeline here:

  The Battle of Naboo. During the battle, Qui-Gon is killed by a Sith Agent, who in turn is killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Gungans fight a major land battle with the droid army of the Trade Federation, but it is all a diversion to allow the Queen to sneak back into the palace and capture the Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray. Naboo space forces attack the droid control ship, with Anakin taking part in the assualt and actually destroying the ship. The Queen captures Gunray, resulting in the freeing of her people and the end of the battle. After the battle, the Jedi Council decides to allow Anakin to become a Jedi, training under Obi-Wan Kenobi.



• 30 BBY Jedi Knight Vergere is sent on a mission to the planet Zonama Sekot. At this time, a group of aliens the people of Zonama Sekot refer to as the Far Outsiders attack the planet. Vergere convinces the Far Outsiders (the Vong Advanced Force) to leave the planet. She also leaves behind a message in her seed partners to any Jedi who come looking for her(which are used in the making of living starships) in which she says the Far Outsiders know nothing of the Force and the Force knows nothing of the Far Outsiders. Her seed partners are returned to the potentium to become the possible partners of future ship buyers.



• 29 BBY Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are sent on a mission to Zonama Sekot to learn what happened to fellow Jedi Knight Vergere. They arrive under the pretense of being a teacher and his rich student looking to purchase a Sekotan ship, and recieve seed partners of their own, three of which were Vergere's and carry her message. They learn of the Far Outsiders and Vergere's message, and also help to defend the planet from forces lead by future Grand Moff Tarkin.



• 25 BBY The Vong Advanced Force lands on the planet Bimmiel. A member of this force is left behind when the rest of it leaves the planet.



• The Battle of Yavin (BY) The Rebel Alliance scores it's biggest victory to date in the Battle of Yavin when they defeat Imperial forces by destorying their Death Star battle station.



• 25 ABY The Yuuzhan Vong invade the galaxy. At this time, a group of scientist on the planet Bimmiel uncover the remains of the Vong Advanced Force member left behind on the planet and date their death at around fifty years before, revealing that the Vong have been in the Galaxy before.

Ok, so looking at the timeline, we can see that the Vong Advanced Force was in the galaxy a lot longer than fifty years before the invasion began. In fact, they were in the galaxy at least fifty-five years before the invasion began and their entrance probably dates back even further than that.
