ST Favorite Things About the Existence of the ST

This is more about what the fact of having an ST means, rather than anything we know in particular about Ep. 7 (which is scant anyway). My 5 favorite things about the fact of an ST are:

5. More visually distinct backdrops and styles
4. The excitement of seeing a story continued after a huuuuuge gap in chapters
3. More musical motifs and concert arrangements of those motifs
2. The renewal of traditional New SW movie anticipation checklists and speculations
1. The very real possibility, for future generations watching the Saga, of Luke falling to the Dark Side in Episode VI

We're going to see something that we were told wouldn't happen and its story was written by good ol' Georgie boy

 

In no particular order:
1. A new era, with new characters, locations, etc. to explore
2. An ending to the seemingly infinite Clone Wars Era
3. Possible new Weird Al parody
4. Star Wars hype everywhere!
5. As a Disney fan first, Disney Hollywood Studios getting Star Wars Land (Goodness gracious does that park need it)
6. New Battlefront

 

In a bit of off-the-cuff inspiration:

Old-timer heroes and young generations
New space adventures with soaring emotions
Plots and intrigues that tug at our heartstrings
These are a few of my favorite things

Jedi fighting Sith and amazing actions
Planets and systems and new constellations
Bright, shining ships with starlight on their wings

Fantastic costumes with inspiring designs
Music that stays in our hearts and in our minds
Breathtaking CG that off the screen springs

When the time flies, when the wait stings
When I'm feeling sad

Star Wars Battlefront may have more varied maps now.

 

.....Well done Maria...I mean Laure' (sorry, forgot my hotkeys to insert alternate letters).

I want to see the completion of 7, 8 and 9 in a fashion that gives me the feeling I had when I first saw Ep IV for the first time; however with a good balance of CG that is not overdone. I want to see the old character well developed as if they fought, loved, learned and became wiser - not just a mere older version of their past characters. I want to see a new generation of characters that are fresh, but still have the charisma and draw to make you want to invest your time in...

 

New locations/backdrops are probably the biggest draw for me as well.

 

My favourite consequence of the Sequel Trilogy is that Star Wars has a future again.

 

I just cannot wait to see what happens to the Big 3 post-ROTJ. It's something I always wondered about since I was 9. Well, not all the time since I was 9 but you know what I mean.
Can't wait to see it!

 

I can't wait to cry again at the end of Episode IX's credits, knowing that it's the end of the saga. That feeling at the end of ROTS was... indescribable.

 

New music, characters, ships, planets
New stories with the OT Big 3,
No more Clone Wars era stuff!
New maps for Battlefront

 

Bit if a masochist, mmm?

Another thing I like is more Hallowwen/Midnight Showing costumes!

 

Despite how much of the PT turned out, I still get the chills whenever I see that particular clip.

 

The possibility of seeing Palpatine's spirit behave in a more-prequel consistent matter than he did in Dark Empire.

 

My favorite thing is seeing the characters from the OT in their 60's, just as George told us over the years. Seeing the completion of the 9 Episode Saga. Seeing Jedi Master Luke Skywalker at full power, with a family. Seeing the new generation and how they interact with each other and the OT characters. Seeing the New Republic and the Jedi Order reborn. Seeing how the ST changes the way we view the Saga.

 

This. Right here. Sitting around with other nerds, reveling in the knowledge that there will be another Star Wars movie. I enjoy TCW, and the games, and to some extent the comics, but none of them come close to the excitement of sitting in a movie theater waiting for "A Long Time Ago..."

 

1. Meeting new characters, locations, weapons, aliens
2. Seeing the old casts roles in the movie
3. All the future slash fan fic I will find thanks to tumblr
4. Fan reactions to it all
5. Not knowing everything ahead of time like you do with prequels (you basicly know who lives and dies when it comes to prequel films to almost any franchise)

 

1. That the story will continue and it will create more Star Wars fans and enthusiasm.
2. Reading and posting in the ST discussions on the JC.
3. Seeing what happens after ROTJ (something the PT didn't show us) and seeing cast members reprise their roles.

AMEN. It all still feels a bit surreal, but in a great way.

 

More Han, Luke, and Leia. I can't wait to see what happens to those crazy kids. It's like catching up with old friends from childhood. I'm psyched.
