    It probably accessed your camera, saw the six fingers and couldn’t tell if it was Manchester or Arkansas.

    Go here:

    In the sample pages, go to page 8 (marked as page 3). There is your sample text.

    For the upload, use either youtube or I think artists like @tom use soundcloud?

    Lol, Paul, I know you think I'm being a stupid American, but I've read Trainspotting and know there's absolutely no passage there that can be read on the JCC. Also, the Edinburgh accent I do isn't a Leith accent. Nor do I speak Scots. I do a slightly more posh Edinburgh accent. Not Morningside posh, but, you know. General Edinburgh.

    I found a better solution and will present it later today when I'm bored enough, or when the NFL playoff games

    O my Luve's like a red, red rose,
    That's newly sprung in June;
    O my Luve's like the melodie
    That's sweetly play'd in tune.

    As fair are thou, my bonie lass,
    So deep in luve am I;
    And I will luve thee still, my Dear,
    Till a' the seas gang dry.

    Till a' the seas gang dry, my Dear,
    And the rocks melt wi' the sun:
    I will luve thee still, my dear,
    While the sands o' life shall run.

    And fare thee weel, my only Luve!
    And fare thee weel, a while!
    And I will come again, my Luve,
    Tho' it were ten thousand mile!

    Okay, fellow dorks. Here we go. One of these is me, but I won't say which one yet. We're all reading the same passage, and the other two are real Scottish women from the Edinburgh area.

    Sample 1
    Sample 2
    Sample 3

    I would say let the mockery begin, but I'm pretty sure it's been going on a long time now :p

    #2 sounds off to me, but I think you're #1?

    I think Ender is right about you being #1, not because the accent is bad (I think all the samples sound convincing, but I readily admit to not having an ear for accents), but because #2 and #3 sound very relaxed, while #1 is very precise and focused, and I associate you with being very intense.

    #2 sounds off because her microphone is letting in more background noise than #1 or #3, imo; I think she sounds a bit younger than I'd expect solojones to sound, but that might just be the slightly higher pitch of her voice.

    The thing is, with enough practice you can probably do a very good accent but the trick really is to learn the intonation and rhythm of the dialect and be able to speak freely, without a script, that makes an accent good. #1 feels like it's working on all fronts; the other 2 sound like they're reading but #2 is a much more diluted Edinburgh accent, suggesting maybe a private education or time away from Scotland?
