I'm choosing to see this through the common idiom of "dirtying one's hands" meaning to commit some sort of sin. In which case while I care about both things, I'm more worried about and fear more about whether or not my own hands are dirty.

Unless we're talking about handling food, in which case I care about mine being dirty always, and yours depending on whether or not you touch the food I'm going to eat.
