Like I said at the meeting. They need to get an Ewok from Jedi to make this Expo complete.

Maybe this is off topic but at the February meeting I mentioned that I would be able to be at the fanforce table on saturday. So if someone could keep myself [Cam] informed, please email me at therevcy@hotmail.com. as to what needs to be accomplished before the event. And thanks to everyone who came to my house for the last meeting.

If you're unable to make Thursdays meeting this week, but would like to volunteer to help out at our FF table, please post here with what times you are available.

    Thanks!

Okay - we're doing 2 hour shifts manning our table for the Expo. You'll be buddied up with someone else during the time, so no worries about being left alone. The times are as follows:

    Saturday, April 26
    10-12
    12-2
    2-4
    4-6
    6-7

    Sunday, April 27
    10-12
    12-2
    2-4
    4-6

Once you've looked over the panel info (which should be posted this weekend at the Expo site), post here as to what times you'd be available to help out. Remember, the key is to engage people as they pass our booth. We want them to know what a cool and fun group we are.

Let's make this a great event!!

Volunteer information is up at the Expo site.

REMEMBER - volunteering at our table does NOT mean you get in free. You HAVE to volunteer for the EXPO itself. If you volunteer for 1 shift, you get a pass for one day, 2 shifts gets you a 2 day pass. See the site for more info.

I signed up for set up, tear down, and security/crowd control on Saturday morning. Depending on my work schedule, I'd love to do some bag stuffing as well.

I'll take a shift or two, but someone will need to bring me up to date as to what's been going on lately. I've been living under a rock!

    Cheers,
    M.

Michelle!! Good to hear from you!!

Were you looking to volunteer for our table? Or for the Expo itself? I know you'll probably be busy with 501st stuff as well, so just let us know what you'd be up for (don't want to stretch you too thin).

Hey guys. Over on the Mandalorian Mercs forums we've been having a little discussion about possible theatrics to perform at the CCEE.
    http://mercs.firespray.net/forum/index.php?topic=2625.30

One idea was to have a Jedi run into the main hall yelling, "The Mandos are coming! The Mandos are coming!" The Mandalorians confront the group of Jedi in front of Daniel Logan's table, and gun them down. Then we could walk away chanting Vode An or something. We could probably return the favour and let you guys chop us apart with lightsabers. Anyways, I just thought I'd see if anyone was interested.

What do you have a bad feeling about, Dooks?

Does no one else like getting into character when they're in costume? Portraying a role? I find that hard to believe. I've witnessed several FF members expressing their desire to actually be "Doing something" at events rather than just standing around. This is something to do. Remember at CIV how there were skits like a group of Jawas carrying R2, or stormies escorting rebel prisoners? Same sort of thing.

Shawn I think that works well for a huge convention like C4 where everybody is there for Star Wars. What we don't want is the negative looks and remarks that it might generate. Yes when in costume role play but some people can take it to extremes. Also why would jedi run screaming the mandos are coming.

I think this would make us look worst then Trekies. But thats just my opinion. Were trying to promote the group no scare people away. And I really don't think Daniel Logan would really much care.

I think if the mandos walk in looking bad a$$ that would be cooler in my opinion.

Remember at CIV how there were skits like a group of Jawas carrying R2, or stormies escorting rebel prisoners? Same sort of thing.

What you're suggesting is NOT the same sort of thing. At C4, those skits were re-enactments from the film. None of what those folks did was demeaning to their characters. Quite honestly, what you're suggesting, I find in poor taste. THIS Jedi (or whatever character Jedi I play) would NOT run, screaming from Mandolorians. It would be a cold day in hell before that ever happened. If I couldn't find a peaceful resolution, I would face my enemy - because the Force is my ally, and a powerful ally it is.

I appreciate what you're trying to create but I think you have to rethink your plans.

Nicole, I'll put you down for the 10-12 shift.
I'll post the finalized schedule the week before the Expo. But just so you guys know, we're really strapped for help on Sunday.
