Ditto about buying any Guide books/mags until after Episode III. :) The New Essential Guide to Characters look preety good though. But I didn't like how they only put one big Anakin's head, one Padmé and Darth Vader on the cover.

It is pre - EP 2,
if you look on the bottom of the big red cardboard on with issue one, down the bottom is 4 of the SW logo's - EP1, EP4, EP5, & EP6.

You're right, I didn't look there. The Galactic Map must have been reprinted or is a new addition for us here in New Zealand. :)

well the systems were worked out right from the start just not wot went on on them

the sw ccg had naboo sites 1 year before ep1

and the gensoians didnt design the death star they stole them from the fella who invented it thats how i see it

I'm not sure that either Naboo or the Episode II cards were availble a year before the movie, but were possibly availble a month before.

I've now twice seen a TV advert for these Star Wars Fact Files. :)

Some how i knew that question what coming

See look what my money buys

First go buy the 1st issue at now @ 1.50
then the next 7 issues after it @ 6.95

    you total is $50.15

and if you subcribe it is free postage, of both the fact files and your free gifts.

it seems they post out the gifts at
different times depending how many fact files you have received.

I bought the $1.50 one, but am undecided whether or not to continue with it / subscribe.

All the info within is freely available on the web.

It does look kinda cool though, and the gifts are OK.

If I saw the whole ting, complete, with gifts in a shop for $55 (or whatever) would I buy it?

    Well, would I?

The whole thing is actually 75 issues ($515.80), so if I saw it for $55 I'd definitely buy it. :D

If I saw a star wars mouse pad, tshirt, cap, ringbinder, and mug + 8 fact file issues, all for $55, I'd say that's a bargin.

    I saw them at Whilcoulls today. Man, has all the SW fans in Auckland been through them all? 8-} Or did they all come in separated and missing pages? 8-}

It's got some cool pics and a nice Galaxy map. I still decided not to buy it because AOTC's not mentioned in it. Maybe when EpIII comes out. :)

Except that then they might just release some Episode II (which is also missing) and III update pages. :)

I'm not sure if it's the same company, but I see there's an advert on TV for a similar multi-part magazine about robots and you get a piece each week that allows you to build your own robot, programmable from your Windows PC.

Looks semi-interesting, but I'm not going to bother with it.

You may find since this is a new series has that they will have issue one on the shelves for two or three weeks to allow people to find out about them, and then start the actual weekly series - it may also depend on when the stock arrives from overseas. The TV advert is still saying issue one is in shops now.

When I subscribed the lady at the the distributors said the warehouse batch processes them, so your first subscribed issue (and free gift) should arrive at some stage over the next two or three weeks. PLUS, I'm not sure you get an issue delivered every week - you probably get four issues delivered once a month. :)
