Padu, KY Dragon Con 08

Hey Guys,
As some of you know several members of the Paducah Imperials were able to attend Dragon Con in Atlanta, GA this weekend. We had a great time meeting many friends and celebrities throughout the convention. I'll do a brief day by day break down with pics in case you all want to take a look.

Friday: The con opened for us with a panel by the 501st celebrating the 10th anniversary of the thier 1st event, Dragon Con 98.
We spent the rest of the day enjoying the con, meeting celebs, and looking at the amazing costumes everyone had on.

Saturday: We started the day off with the parade, we had 7 members of the pimps walking in it this year.

We ended the day at the 501st mixer that night where we hung out with sw celebs, and the 501st creator himself, Alban Johnson.

Sunday: 5 of us have been building costumes for the last 6 weeks to enter into the Star Wars costume contest. We went to Dragon Con without
having them finished, and had to finish them the morning of the contest. We got to the contest at the con and put the costumes on for
the 1st time right out in the hallway of the auditorium. The contest was hosted by Jeremy Bulloch and judged by Dave Prowse (is Darth
Vader), Steve Sansweet (head of Fan Relations for LFL), and several members of the 501st. Are costumes were the Lego Cantina Band
and we won 1st place! We had a great time at DC and hope to return with many more members of the Paducah Imperials!

A kicka## plate! Whoo! I ate my dinner off of it last night!! It tasted of Star Wars, of Dragon*Con (which smells of gamer boy) and of WINNERS!!

 

TOP SECRET: We did win something else but it is a suprise hopefully to be enjoyed by all.

Man. Whoever thought up the idea for those costumes was high on Bondo... or a genius!

We could not have done it without our 5 handlers though. At all.
