Off topic, but does "Escape from the Death Star" have any unique Death Star-related info in it?

On page 21 of the Gamemaster Kit, Cracken mentions a "Beta system."

Page 33 of the Rules Companion mentions a planet named "Heterkus." Also: The adventure at the end of the book, "To Free the Forgotten," takes place on the Imperial prison moon Captivity, located in the Grehollo system. It's described as being located near Ord Mantell.

Nothing in Escape from the Death Star or the Gamemaster Screen. IIRC, both editions of the DSTC are identical, there's very little that's different between them lore-wise. I checked through a few sections that I thought might have been changed, but there's nothing new.

Not as far as I can tell, no.

Thanks Xicer. Any context for Beta system?

Cracken mentions it as an example to some of his students:

' "The next step is to learn all you can about the extent of the Imperial presence in the system. Sometimes, the Alliance knows why the Empire has chosen to pay special attention to one system over another, but often that is not the case. During your travels, you must try to find out, discreetly, what the Empire wants with, say, the Beta System. Are there valuable resources in the system? Is it a strategic port? Does some important personage visit there on holiday?" General Cracken allowed himself a wry smile. "Does the Grand Moff of the sector particularly enjoy one of the local wines?" '

Hmm. That doesn't strike me as an actual system, more of a hypothetical example...

could be, though I'd rather go for the Moff's favored beverage

Yeah, I wasn't too sure about it either. Still, it could be taken either way. Just thought I'd bring it up to see what Jason would make of it.

True, but I think it could be read either as a hypothetical example completely made up, or a hypothetical situation with a real star system used as an example. To demonstrate, let's swap in a more familiar situation:

In some ways, it actually makes more sense in the first case than in the second. The "say" feels extraneous with a fake location following it.

Except that you yourself have established Beta is a letter of the alphabet, so it is more like:

Has anyone considered contacting the author of that Cracken bit? He or she could easily clarify the original authorial intent.

Good point. I've gotten too used to Star Trek, where stand-alone Greek letters are legitimate names for star systems.

Or worse, legitimate names for planets that have native life, who apparently conform with that greek letter as the name.

    Case in point: The Deltans.

then again we have alphanumerical names for planets and I still wonder how the inhabitants would be called then? 47237842ndians? though mostly it is not native life or just a rogue droid population founded by HK's and others :p

Jason, hopefully I didn't just miss them, but I found some planets in the GG5: Return of the Jedi, 2nd Edition that I didn't notice in the Atlas list.

The adventure at the end mentions an officer was stationed on Vo Tunbren, a planet in the Tadra sector. A smaller adventure seed in the same section mentions an Imperial-held planet called Adras. Both of these are on Wookieepedia.

I must admit, considering how long that list is and how through you've been, I'm surprised to find anything not on the list!

The Atlas has a Fenel system, which I believe is from the Fenelar species first mentioned in The History of the Mandalorians. However, the Atlas does not have a "Felen system" derived from the Felenar armor found in Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Is this because you considered Felenar as a spelling mistake for the Fenelar?

(For the record, neither describes the physical appearance of the respective group, but Kyle Katar's Tale does link the Fenelar with durable armor.)

I have a nagging feeling I may have asked this before, but I can't find it.

The Star Wars Trilogy SB - Special Edition gives the homeworld of the Letaki as... Letaki:
    "Orbus, a sarcastic, multi-tentacled alien from the planet Letaki..." - p. 91

Jason, the second editions of Galaxy Guide 4 and 6 don't appear to have any new material. The 2nd edition of GG1: A New Hope has some new material, including a new adventure, but I didn't notice any new planet info.

Nope, no new world in the 2nd edition of GG1 (I scanned the book during the soccer-match Netherlands - Urugay)

But about the Planets guides, didn't you guys scan this, or did you go by the later Planets Collection?

including the detailed description (with lesser new hyperlane names) of the route from Kynachi to Coruscant via the the Namadii Corridor among others
