Hayley Mills had a British accent in the original "Parent Trap" (despite having two American parents and being raised in the US) and I had no trouble accepting that as a kid. So *shrug* if Han and Leia's kid has an accent I'm sure I wouldn't blink an eye. I've been trained by Disney already not to question these things. :p

I've always hated the idea that Maul's face and body = Sith tattoos. The Sith were in hiding, so why would they tattoo themselves in a way that's recognizable as Sith?

Never understood why accents matter to some people. It's the person's acting that stands out to me. Don't care how they sound as long as they're articulate.

    So.
If the new description of the trailer is correct, It appears that the love interest is different than I originally though.

However, if Daisy is a solo, it kinda makes sense.

I still think it's a triangle (boyega-ridley-isaac) regardless of the whether the trailer is accurate. People can disagree but I don't see a straightforward romance over three films. Yeah, that was the case with Padme and Anakin but we already sort of knew the story and it was boring as hell. Which, of course, can also be attributed to the writing, lack of chemistry between the actors, etc... I'm also considering that JJ definitely likes his love triangles.

I consider Kirk x spock x uhura to be the love triangle. Everybody wants a piece of that Pine. ;)

That wasn't a love triangle in my opinion. Neither was Luke/Han/Leia.

Kirk and Luke simply had crushes early on, but they fell out of the running pretty quickly.

Oh I wasn't talking about Kirk X Uhura if you know what I mean. I'm talking about the REAL romance of the Star Trek reboot. :p

well yeah but that is a tv show, any tv show that last long enough is basically going to have at least one love triangle.

    There wasn't.

Kirk didn't have a crush on Uhura - he just had a quota. ;)

    Movies do love triangles too.

If Kira is our point of view character and protagonist I don't seriously think she will disempower herself by getting entangled with an obviously older guy like Isaacs. It would work better with a more malleable, younger dude. Perhaps even someone who is in doubt about himself and his allegiances. It doesn't really work with a focal character that is not fully in charge of his or her situation. Just a thought.

    Also, Alias and Fringe.

So Kira would seem stronger if she's with a weaker guy who is a little messed up? I don't see that at all. You know if won't be resolved until Ep. IX, so I think she'll appear like a strong woman who is fine on her own without a man for the majority of the trilogy. Who she may pick in the end, if anyone, won't disempower her in the least given what she'll have accomplished.

Nah, Luke/Han/Leia were kind of a love triangle. It was definitely hinted at in ANH, but by the beginning of ESB it's mostly in Han and Luke's minds. Leia already made up her mind.

For a love triangle to be a love triangle, there needed to be a spark between Luke and Leia. Luke just had a teenage crush that amounted to nothing pretty quickly.

The second and third party need to be "In Love" with the first party for it to be considered a love triangle.

Psuedo Love Triangle it was more then Kirk which was Uhura is hot, I want to check that off my bang list.

As for Daisy dating older men not necessarily and issue depends on execution but if ur main heroes are a White Women and a Black Man well then yes there is some stuff u have to watch moreso then if your Lead is a White Man.

I don't even know if Legacy explained the origins of the tattoos well (or at all), the One Sith wasn't really 'in hiding'. They just kept to Korriban until they revealed themselves to the Empire, and then to the rest of the galaxy in the Sith-Imperial War. Post-Legacy vol 1, tho, they were in hiding, and the tats were largely absent... removing tattoos was probably easier in the GFFA than here, so maybe that's how so many were able to infiltrate all levels of government across the galaxy. I never liked Maul's tats being reclassified as Sith tats at first, or even as "Dathomiri Zabrak male" tats in TCW... I guess since TCW showed he definitely survived, that could've been more inspiration for Krayt's One Sith and their tats? Since before that, it was pretty much accepted that Maul died, and the Jedi hardly knew anything about him, so Krayt learning about the tats would've needed a different source, like his Sith-spirit mentor, or holocrons or something. I liked a lot about Legacy (love the Imperial Knights, for instance, and their identical silver-bladed sabers), but never liked the One Sith's tattoo-fetish. It just smacked of "wouldn't it be cool if everyone looked like Maul?!"

As for romantic stuff between Daisy & Boyega... there are no special considerations to take due to race! Let the bigots cry or gnash their teeth in frustration/annoyance. Besides, there's still no guarantee that'll be the romantic focus of the films. Maybe Ridley or Boyaga's character is more into the nonhuman member of the new heroic group :p

That's why I said "kinda". Han certainly thought there was something to worry about in ROTJ. The fact that we knew differently doesn't change that. But yeah, it wasn't the traditional love triangle, in the sense that Leia was definitely into Han by ESB.

…..And since she picked Han, they probably had a kid that will end up being played by Daisy Ridley….at least, I still think that's the case. (There, back on topic).

EDIT: Also, it was very much up in air in ANH who Leia would chose. You can't tell me there weren't people back in 1977 who thought Luke might get the girl.

Except maybe Sean Connery as a Russian submarine commander ;) - he is still awesome :D

What is an "accent" anyway? Everybody sounds different.

    Fringe?

John Scott was long dead before Olivia and Peter ever moved beyond just banter.
