Snoke, to my mind, pretty obviously brings up "Smoke". Smoke, elusive, wispy, hard to get a hold of, smoke, bad, dangerous, fire, etc.

Actually, the name sounds like one of Gryph's aliases. Now I'm already sad that it likely isn't true.

A "wedge" is a tool. You know what else is a tool? A screw. So, following the pattern we have established, we could also get:

    Screw Maldives.

Actually sounds good, as long you're not Maldivian.

Same kind of name as the series that brought you Sheev.

Yeah but Sheev was a finale troll move by Lucas, this appears to be serious.

I understand that Sheev was part of the material Lucas had presented as developed for the Star Wars: Underworld live action series taking place during the 3-4 gap that he very much originally intended to put into production.

I actually have come to really, really like the name Sheev Palpatine. To each their own.

Sure to each his own and I like the name in principle but found it totally unnecessary, as I still like him as The Emperor and would in fact have loved the PT consistently just going by his titles for added effect. ;)

After all the missheevs with the name, I have come to think of it as brilliant. You have to smile every time you see it. Which fits Palpatine perfectly... wait what?

It is about what I expected.

I also think the character he will be playing is Jar Jar in disguise.

Sheev's not that bad really. We can still just call him Palpatine. And Sheev gives us all a good laugh.

    Always remember, This is Sheev:

I suppose they could have done this for when he's Sidious, but as Senator/Chancellor Palpatine he is supposed to seem human. His lack of a name in the OT made him seem less human, as if he's above names. I'm with you in believing that they were right not to use a name in the OT.
