Yoda is a prominent character in the PT and naturally he has many awesome moments. So what is your favorite?

Mine has to be this right here:

The way he says the line and whips out that saber is awesome.

    "Destroy the Sith we must."

"Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed that is."

    And the classic...

"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."

    Favorite lines:

"To see you alive brings warm feelings to my heart."
"Truly wonderful the mind of a child is."

    Favorite moment:

    Yoda bouncing around vs Dooku.

The CT thread saw unanimous praise of basically every Yoda moment and line in the CT. Should be interesting to see the results here.

"if informed the senate is, multiply our adversaries will" - at last the Jedi at least try a bit of common sense in these movies.

The CT thread saw unanimous praise of basically every Yoda moment and line in the CT. Should be interesting to see the results here.

that's because to be fair...there aren't as many in the PT, imo.

(Sorry Yoda comrades in the yoda fan club [face_blush])

Are there any bad Yoda lines, really? ;)

Well ****. I forgot my favorite one.

"Lost a planet, Master Obi-Wan has. How embarrassing. How embarrassing."

I liked that entire scene, with Yoda using Obi-Wan's question as a teachable moment for the kids.

'Good relations with the Wookiees, I have.'

    Just kiddin' ;)

I like a lot of them, most of which have already been mentioned in this thread. Here's a personal favorite of mine, which has not yet been mentioned:
'Always two, there are. No more, no less. A master and an apprentice.'

Several of my favourites have been said already, but some others include:

"At an end your rule is. And not short enough it was."

"A flaw more and more common among Jedi. Too sure of themselves, they are. Even the older, more experienced ones."

And of course, while it's certainly not one of his better lines, "Around the survivors, a perimeter create" always makes me chuckle. :p

It's already been partly said but I adore the scene where Anakin is first brought before the Council in TPM. The whole scene, but particularly
"What has that got to do with anything?"
"Everything! Fear is the path to the darkside. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering! I sense much fear in you."
With the music and transition to the next scene it is really foreboding and depressing. Great moment.

I love his whole convo with the Emperor.
That's one of the things that exceeded my expectation. I always wanted to see those two go at it in a lightsaber duel as a kid,and it was better than advertised.

"Always two, there are. No more, no less. A master and an apprentice." - intriguing information.

"Seeing you alive brings warm feelings to my heart." - Aw. [face_love]

Yoda vs Dooku - Master vs apprentice.

Yoda vs Sidious - the heads of each Order going head to head.

After the puppet in TPM, I don't think there's anything I dislike about Yoda in the PT.

Common sense, mate? To me that indicates proof of exactly what Sidious says. Not sense at all.

Prophesy *misread* may have been. Is one of mine. Proves Jedi aren't infallible like many around here like to act.

The most profound or important line is, "your focus determines your reality" -- in my lazily unfocused, semi-determined, unrealistic point-of-view.

But that's not a Yoda line, so...

"And a little more knowledge might light our way."

Notice the tentative quality of that remark and how revealing of great wisdom it is.

Sometimes, as the saying goes, a little knowledge is more dangerous than no knowledge at all.

Then there's something plain heroic about it. For all the darkness that has taken hold, Yoda shrewdly allows hope to keep him from the cliff-edge of the Dark Side, just shy of the jaws of despair.

Well, until he happens upon the dead younglings, anyway. A lot of hope seems to leave him in that instant. In fact, that would be the second brilliant Yoda line of ROTS:

"Killed not by clones, this padawan, but by a lightsaber, he was."

That line brilliantly encapsulates the entire tragedy of Anakin Skywalker. It's a very symbolic line.

It wasn't clones that got to Anakin, but militarized ideals passed onto him by the Jedi. You can also say the line alludes to Anakin "falling on his sword" -- again, symbolically -- on Mustafar.

I dunno. Just something about the deployment of certain lines that grabs me. And how can a person not be choked up by the simple, but oh-so-powerful:

"Into exile, I must go. Failed, I have."

Consider the levels Yoda thinks he might just have failed on.

But yeah, "fear is the path to the Dark Side" is an absolute corker, and one I often think of in day-to-day life.

The simple trash-talk between Yoda and Dooku, and Yoda and Sidious, is classic, too.

And the younglings scene from AOTC.

But I also like violent Yoda: decapitating the clones about to murder him (or maybe offer him milk and cookies?) on Kashyyyk during Order 66, throwing his saber into the chest of a hapless clone outside the Jedi Temple upon his return to Coruscant (and I love the lighting), flinging the royal guards, and throwing the Emperor over his chair, not to mention lighting up and blocking his way. Oh, and that seriously mean look he gives Sidious in the close-up of him reflecting the lightning. Damn!

Should I like violent Yoda? Probably not. It's hard not to like the warrior's heart beating to its fullest in those moments, though. The other side of Yoda. The not-so-peaceable green frog having a very bad day. He's still feeling some residual anger when Bail interrupts him on Polis Massa. I LOVE that piece of animation! It's all in the eyes.

But you know what I like most about prequel Yoda? The little hand movements. They're a fantastic touch. He's always trying to send good vibes out in a very discreet way. And how tragic a little green beast that makes him. But how venerable, too.

Oh, and -- I just can't stop, can I? -- the exquisitely sombre look he has at the end of AOTC. He kind of knows it's all over in that instant, but he'll soldier on, anyway: put on the Jedi stars and stripes, keep going in spite of it all. Yoda is a haunting, sad, and complex character. IMO, anyway.

Such devastation expressed by a CGI character.

"If into the security recordings you go, only pain will you find".

That one must have stuck with me, because I find myself using "if into x you go, only pain will you find" in real life.

It's so confusing to see people characterize Yoda as a cold, unemotional robot.

    This thread has been refreshing.

    Thanks for the reply's everyone.

Another moment I like is how Yoda looks at Palpatine in the beginning of AOTC.
