You could also read the Crispin trilogy and then read the Daley books in Rebel Dawn when it gets to the interludes.

 

My mistake I thought there was a duology.

 

You could, but it would interrupt reading Rebel Dawn for quite some time. If you're not the type to interrupt a novel and still get a satisfying read out of it, this would wreck the narration of the story (the entire Bria trilogy, actually) for the sake of timeline obsession.

And besides, wouldn't you then have to hunt down all the other Han-flavored novels and comic books in that timefame as well?

 

My gut feeling is that Brian Daley's Han Solo Adventures won't contradict Disney canon that much (but I could be wrong). The Han Solo Trilogy by AC Crispin, however, already contradicts Rogue One.

So you might want to stick with the Daley stuff for Han stories that "might" still be kept in head-canon. The comic adaptation of Han Solo at Stars' End might also, by sheer chance, remove anything in that novel that could conflict with the new Han movie. (The way the Thrawn Trilogy comic adaptations inadvertently removed most of the prequel-contradicting references of the novels).

 

Anybody else want to see a Han Solo and Jyn Erso team up? It would be a good chance to see Jyn's background, how she ended up in prison, and see a lighter side of her personality.

Eh, if you want to read some entertaining novels, I'd choose Legends stuff not on whether it might still be sneaked into nuCanon. I'd choose Legends stuff on whether it's good.

...and in that regard, I'd choose Daley over Crispin any day, so same difference.

The real Han Solo wouldn't be all smiles if so many people tried to crowd the cockpit like that. Look, and at least three of them are trying to make a grab for the controls! What nerve!

 

So not looking forward to this movie

 

I'm actually looking forward to this more and more. They've assembled a decent cast anyways.

 

This cast is epic! Thandie Newton is also in it as we've all probably seen. I can't wait for it. I do know everyone except the girl sitting between AE & DG, who is she?

 

He's smiling because at the moment it's Lando's, and he knows it's about to be his.

 

I'm only worried about Emilia Clarke's acting. Otherwise it all looks nice.

 

In some ways so am I, but I have to admit they are making some strong casting choices. but at them same time If this move succeeds I don't want all these star was anthology's that follow to be centered around characters (even though I want a Jango Fett or Mace Windu movie) over events like rouge one.

 

Mace Windu played by anyone other than Sam Jackson would be even more sacrilegious than Han Solo not being played by Harrison Ford.

 

It's not Harrison Ford though and Ford is Han Solo. It feels like it's just Disney milking a recognised name for all it's worth. Hence the Boba Fett and Yoda movies

 

Both of the latter have no official announcement or any casting news.

 

I'm excited more by the cast and the creative team behind this movie than the actual concept. But I've enjoyed just about everything that Miller & Lord have directed over the past decade, they managed to wrangle some great comedy performances out of rather unexpressive actors in the past *coughChanningTatum* so I'm pretty confident that they'll get the absolute best out of this cast.
