This sounds awesome, but I'm kind of amused that they apparently had to put "of the Republic" in there to distinguish it from the last "Jedi: Mace Windu" set during the Clone Wars.

Well that cover gave me massive Dark Horse vibes, looking forward to it, I hope it's a lot of fun. :) It'd be sweet to see them follow up on this with stories of other Jedi like Kit Fisto, Ki-Adi-Mundu, or... a Quinlan Vos story written by Ostrander! Sound good no?

Someone tell Sam Jackson that Mace is alive!
    ...during the Clone Wars only!

    Woo hoo

I think this is the 1st time we have gotten some pre-TCW clone wars in the new canon.

Looking forward to see more of Mace, while getting some new jedi characters.

"Jedi of the Republic" is a great title for an ongoing series, which I hope to see. Basically become a nu canon version of Star Wars Republic.

Besides seeing adventures dealing with Jedi in the clone wars, "Jedi of the Republic" can also go back to peacetime between TPM and AoTC and even pre-TPM.

Legends Mace is only considered cool because of Shatterpoint which in itself was an overly dark ( and horrible IMO) depiction of star wars

Really looking forward to this. Wonder if this will take place before or after the Battle of Ryloth?

Shatterpoint was an entirely needed and necessary cleanser to the 'realism' direction DR had taken SW over the last few years before it, by showing the logical endpoint of that direction.

And, oh look, suddenly people weren't so keen having a gritty war story under the Star Wars banner after all.

As a one-off, which it is, I love Shatterpoint - it is a well-told story but I don't want a series of that for SW.

I'm excited by this news. Mace can be an interesting character sometimes.

Jedi of the Republic would be a good banner to do some one-shots under.

Ah, but they both started at the same time.

Alas.... There can only be one.

Very cool news. Hope 'Jedi of the Republic' becomes a recurring mini-series theme. But either way it's awesome to get a Windu comic.

I wonder if flashbacks could show up. I have been wanting to see a young Mace appear.

I hope for future installments they explore more between TPM/AOTC. That period was relatively unexplored even in Legends.

Maybe they'll show the battles Windu was involved into that were only mentioned in TCW?

    Now we should later get....

    Star Wars Confederacy

A title that applies to upcoming stories about CIS characters. With also a focus on the non-droid side of the movement. Stories could even harken back before the clone wars, to people tied to the future CIS, such as Jango Fett and Ventress.

I wonder if Obi-Wan and Anakin could be considered an installment of "Jedi of the Republic" now.

People hating Shatterpoint? Now I've seen everything.

I actually think it's funny to compare Shatterpoint with Rogue One. Both were sold as gritty, mature, ground-level looks at the 'war' in Star Wars. It's just that one of those made sure to make the battle scenes seductively awesome, include a lot of quippy dialogue, and ensure that the genocidal battle droid made a lot of jokes, and the other showed that war is traumatic and actually not that fun. Don't get me wrong, I liked Rogue One, but it tried to both have its cake and eat it with its "realistic" approach to Star Wars' star wars, while Stover had no qualms diving headfirst into it.

And seriously... Shatterpoint is actually the only Star Wars book I recommend to friends who like sci-fi but are unwilling to dive into any sort of franchise spinoff stuff.

I'd take Shatterpoint over Rouge One anyday. :D Even if I do prefer the GCW era to CW.

And meanwhile, I'm over here having always thought that people exaggerate how "dark" Shatterpoint actually is. (Which I mean as a positive).
