Amph Marvel's Daredevil (Born Again, Again, Being Filmed Again)

I hadn't thought that a Marvel casting was this perfect since, dunno, Robert Downey Jr. for Tony Stark.

 

Or D'Onofrio as Kingpin. This show has been casting phenomenally

 

It's amazing how much easier it is to get the right people involved when you have a confluence of factors like a) a property that is consistently profitable across different media; b) the right format for a particular story; c) a resurgence in TV media; and d) what looks to be an extremely good casting staff.

I personally haven't seen a wrong step being made with this series.

 

The costume will almost certainly take some flak from fans - it's so difficult to make something that is faithful to the comic-book and doesn't look silly. So I imagine that will be the first sour note in this, it's inevitable.

 

They won't be able to please everyone obviously, but it could be well received or poorly received. For example, Captain America's costume in the Avengers was not well received, Captain America's costume in Avengers 2 has been well received.

 

Random commentator on another msg board theorized that Rosario Dawson could be playing Elecktra, since they haven't announced her character yet. I fully approve of that, if true. Dawon is a sexy gal and a pretty darn good actress as well which could be the right mix of seductive and crazy that Elecktra is supposed to have. Even check out Rosario's Dawnson's performances in bad movies (of which she, unfortunately, happens to be in a lot of 'em) she's still doing something interesting and fun to watch each time out.

 

I think they said she was playing a Hell's Kitchen social activist.

 

Hmmm, true, also very unnamed and vague in the press release:

Rosario Dawson will play a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city. Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television: “Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock’s journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil.”

So she's either exactly that, an random activist who probably ends up getting pancaked by Fisk which spurns Matt along to Daredevil-dom. Or vague character description because she's Electrka! I really hope it's the latter.

 

I'm hoping she'll eventually be revealed to be Stilt-Man.

 

There is a rumour that she is playing Claire Temple, a nurse who later falls in love with Luke Cage. That could help connect the shows together.

 

Things are looking good so far. Only negative thing about it is the name Loeb connected with it.

 

Lisa's a cutie though.

I wonder if he'll end up with a version of his better known red costume or if he'll keep on his Frank Miller ninja attire.

 

I suspect by Defenders, he'll have the more traditional look. Whether he keeps this outfit all throughout the series depends on the story. But I have trouble believing this is going to be the costume through the entire series.

 

Given his lack of fashion in his personal life I feel like he'll continue to make poor decisions with his costume.

 

Yeah it's fair to say Matt has no eye for haute couture.

 

This reminds me that I had the D.C. of Daredevil on Blu-Ray that I need to watch still. Thanks TFN!
