Alright, now apparently, there's one thing you must note about the above picture....... very strangely.... [b]gabe[/b] commented recently that jp-30 looks like.... [i]Lorenzo Llamas?[/i] Right. Moving on.

I give you all...... [i]His Royal Majestic Holiness [b]Pope Jon-Paul III the Great[/b][/i]! Or more colloquially known as [b]jp-30[/b].

After Yay-nay-ne, harp the story, and cojones, the above is my pitiful attempt to follow all those with(out) dignity. [face_tongue]

My dialogue is in [i]italics[/i], [b]jp-30[/b]'s is not.

[i]The username: [b]jp-30[/b]. How did you come up with it? Why did you go with it? Would you have registered a different one today?[/i]

My name is Jon-Paul. Everyone calls me JP as my actual name sucks. So using JP as the basis for my username was a given. You need something with 3 or more characters though, so I tacked -30 on the end to make it vaguely Star Wars Protocol Droid-ish.

It wasn't until several years later when the "So, how do you pronounce jp-30?" thread popped up that I realised most people were reading my name as [i]J.P. Thirty[/i].

[i]Jay Pee Three Oh[/i] -> [i]See Three Pee Oh.[/i] See?

Why didn't I register J-P30 to show the C-3PO origins you may wonder? I have no idea. But at least my usual Protocol Droid icon gives away hints as to my username pronunciation.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe I would have gone with J-P30. I'm kinda attached to this one now. I also had the Jaepee user name too. That was from my pilot in the old LucasArts classic "X-Wing". I used one username to post from work and one from home, but the Jaepee one fell into neglect once I emailed my jp-30 password from home to work. Or vice versa.

Very early on I think I had the Commander Antilles icon in X-Wing suit - a hangover from the Jaepee username that was inspired by my X-Wing game pilot. I chose a not-C3PO icon because I was trying to "be" a different protocol droid to that one. A more cheeky one. And that blank stare on the icon sure gives off that [face_plain] vibe, I reckon.

At one point I also had an image of the TC-14 action figure in my bio carrying that stupid drinks tray that looks like a huge metal dildo. Some caption along the lines of [i]"As requested, I have brought you something to sit on sir"[/i] too. Someone complained (probably Wylding or Valiento) when I was modded ([link=http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=6140503]5 years ago today![/link] [note: As of 3/22/06]) and head admin Vertical kindly suggested I remove it.

Had a bit of a good natured battle for the icon with [b]Griffz[/b] too at one stage, but he really owned the [i]Old Beru[/i] icon.

I live on the edge of the largest forest in the greater Auckland area. Auckland has 1,000,000 people and is the largest city in NZ. The forest is 35 minutes drive from downtown Auckland, and is a semi-tropical rain forest named the [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waitakere_Ranges]Waitakere Ranges[/link]. It's not got National Park status, but is a Regional Park, and has a high level of protection.

In the last few years a major eradication programme has been in place to reduce the numbe

Aside from my hair going gray I have a resemblence to JP30.

He's a knock off of one of them.... coruscant was the inspiration for the retractable sharpie highlighter as well... true story.
