It's hard to see but her costume seems to be mostly black, grey and she still has the white bandages on her arms. I don't know if she still has buns or if her hair looks to be down either.

The title of Episode VIII is officially The Last Jedi.

Discuss this awesome title.

 

I'm intrigued. I'm assuming it refers to Luke. Also interesting the Title was red instead of yellow.

 

I actually like it. At least it make more sense than Force Awakens. Simplicity is always best.

 

Awful title- especially if it implies the sort of extremist view some hold in fandom that the Jedi shouldn't return in larger number-

Although "JEDI" could be plural so who knows, their may be more

The Last Jedi is so 2013.

 

I think it's a cool title. Can't say much more when it's so fresh in my mind, but I can now finally complete my episodic version of the title.

 

I bet it's plural jedi, not single jedi.

Luke and Rey training and that kind of stuff.

We shall wait and see.

 

"The last Jedi"... A reference to Luke since Yoda told him, in ROTJ, that he would be the last Jedi after his death?

 

I don't think we'll even have to wait until release. We'll just have to wait for the official translations of the title in different languages where the plural for Jedi isn't the same as singular Jedi.

 

I feel a teaser isn't too far off now. How long was it from TFA title reveal to its first teaser?

Good ideia. Let's keep an eye on the matter.

 

It's immensely petty on my part, but a part of me was initially disappointed that it didn't fit the Attack of the Clones/The Empire Strikes Back sort of title scheme after the previous film did match-up somewhat with its other trilogy counterparts. (With the title seemingly referring to Rey, the new player that will shake-up the status quo at least somewhat similarly to the characters referred to by The Phantom Menace and A New Hope) Which may seem hypocritical given that I'm one of those who complained about how derivative The Force Awakens was. I guess I've got no other defense than to say I love the idea of the main saga having a poetic structure to it, but still want to see a substantive amount of originality as the meat filling in the skeleton for lack of better words. I dunno, I guess I might just have to accept that was more Lucas' game. Whatever, I'll guess I'll get used to it eventually!

 

Don't really like this for the middle act.

"The Last Jedi" feels like it should be a "bookend" title rather than a "bridge" title.

Attack of the Clones. The Empire Strikes Back. The Last Jedi?????

Would be OK for Episode IX and would've been OK for Episode VII but the middle act of the trilogy?

I find everything Disney does with Star Wars just tremendously "safe" and underwhelming.

But as I said when there was all the uproar over "Attack of the Clones" it's just a title...

Am still interested to see what Rian does with TLJ and hoping he can produce an original work of art and even sneak a few surprises under Disney's radar lol!

 

I hate the new title. Breaks the naming conventions. Would have worked good for Ep 7 though.

 

Can we expect a three word title for episode IX too?
