I've searched the internet and could only find one nonsense thread on some other website that didn't answer my question. If this has already been posted, or I posted in the wrong place, I apologize.

Battle takes place in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

No one has the element of surprise. They both meet in the main hall, about 40-50 feet apart. They are expecting each other.

Neither jedi starts the battle exhausted or tired. They both have the same level of energy at the beginning of the fight.

Qui-Gon is the one from The Phantom Menace. Shaak Ti is the one from Revenge of the Sith.

    Fight to the death.

Round one: Lightsabers only. They are allowed to use the force to enhance their saber skills and acrobatics (like Ataru), but no force powers (like force push or pull).

Round two: Anything goes. Lightsabers and force powers are allowed.

Even though we never get to see her skills with a lightsaber in the PT, I wanna say Shaak Ti.

Qui Gon, although wise and powerful in the force, was beaten by a Sith Apprentice his own Padawan beat. Shaak Ti survived Order 66, and gave Starkiller a pretty good run for his money. Also, she survived an encounter against Grievous aswell.

Neeson is very heavy-handed with blades. I'd go Ti round one and Jinn in two. Draw.

Just pure assumptions, and any information that can be gathered from EU. For fun, pretty much.

Are they really?[face_dunno]I didn't know, sorry...
Are they allowed anywhere on the site (different section, like PT), or not? Thanks!

I believe in the forum of SW Community, there is an on going thread of ____ vs ____. It's actually called that too, if I remember correctly.

"Versus" threads generally seem to fall under the category of 'what-if's, and as such, Saga isn't really the best place for them. So - moving to Star Wars Community.

From what I have seen and read, Qui-Gon will most possibly win the first round, because he is very good with his blade. As for the second round, maybe a tie there. Qui-Gon is very strong in the Living Force.

I dunno, Qui-Gon strikes me as more spontaneous and impulsive, whereas Shaak Ti seems cunning enough to know how to use his weaknesses against him. But if this were about physical strength then Qui-Gon would win (...probably).

Qui-Gon takes Round 1 easily, he was known as one of the best lightsaber duelists in the Order during his time. The fact that he lost to Maul just shows how good Maul is IMO. Also, Shaak Ti's most impressive displays that I've seen were with the Force - to me, she wasn't all that impressive with the lightsaber compared to the other Masters.

Shaak Ti takes Round 2, if she can stay out of Qui-Gon's reach, through use of the Force and cunning (like with the MagnaGuards in the microseries where used the train to smash them). If he can get to her then Qui-Gon takes it.

    Darkslayer Thanks for the reply!

This is pretty much what I was thinking. Qui-Gon was on par with Mace at one point in terms of saber skills, when the best Shaak Ti could do was deflect a few merry-go-round swings from Grievous.

I did notice, however, that Qui-Gon does not have the most impressive force feats (failed mind trick on Watto was the only one we ever see him do, IIRC). I also saw that Shaak Ti has ~2,000 (20%) more midi-cholorians than Qui on one or two other forums, if this truly does impact force abilities in battle. [face_shhh]

No problem! Also, I haven't seen that Shaak Ti midichlorian stat before so I wouldn't know if it's right or not.:)

Also, I enjoy versus debates so I'm glad you made this thread! I once did a bunch of research and ranked the 3 Jedi Councils from each movie by most-least powerful member (as well as 2 of the Councils from the EU), and started on a comprehensive list of the Council members as well lol.

BTW, I like your username. SWTOR FTW!!!

Darkslayer Thanks a ton, once more! Sorry for the late reply. Your threads sound quite interesting, so I'll be sure to check them out. I'm glad you like SWTOR, because I will be posting another one of these threads soon. :)
    Cheers![face_party]

OK, guys we've been pretty lax in letting y'all do one of these every now and again but frankly we have a vs. game to encompass all of these sorts of threads. If you want more in depth discussions look at the Jedi Draft game.
