Is there any reason to think that Chewie is just dropping Rey off to see Luke and will then go his merry way or is she the new co-pilot of the Falcon?

Not really. It cuts from them flying off in the Falcon to Rey finding Luke. It's implied that she owns the Falcon now.

Huh. I would have figured that Rey would only "inherit" the Falcon if she were indeed Han's daughter, but it seems they found a way around that. It makes sense, as the Falcon is pretty much a character itself that's bound to continue being present in VIII and IX.

Now that I'm thinking it over, this route also saves a lot of time for Rian Johnson in Episode VIII so that he doesn't need to go out of his way to bring Chewie back into the story after going off on his own. Instead, he's there with Rey, Luke, Artoo and (maybe) BB-8? Is BB-8 there with them on Skellig Michael? Never found an answer on that one.

I have a theory that she might be Han's after all

I think BB-8 is with Rey. Can't be sure though.

And I'm pretty sure she's not Ham and Leia's daughter. Leia would have told her before she left.

IMHO the hug that Leia gives Rey is not a mother/daughter type of hug and definitely not the sort you'd give close family after not seeing them for years.
To me it was the type of hug that said "I know what lies ahead for you and I'm always here if you need me" type hug.
There's a solid reason her bloodline is not confirmed nor hinted at. For me she is neither Solo/Organa or Skywalker.
Could her lightsaber duelling style be a hint at her bloodline and the path that she will eventually take?

Just got back from morning screening and have been off the board for the last few days to avoid too many spoilers. It is fine with me that they left it unclear. That reveal can wait, see how the story develops for the next episode. Again mirroring the OT.

What was clear to me was that she known about by Kylo - the other grandchild of Vader? Looks and hints from Han and Leia suggest similar. As did the look in Luke's eyes, it's all in the eyes said some one short and orange!

My feeling is that she's a Skywalker. The whole flashback scene when she finds Anakin/Luke's lightsabre doesn't really make sense if she isn't. The scene with what we assume are the Knights of Ren is possibly when Ren turned against Luke and killed a load of people at Luke's Jedi academy. There's also a flashback scene to what looked like a corridor on Bespin when Vader and Luke fought in ESB. The fact that she seems to be a whizz with technology, fixing stuff on the Falcon etc ... could that be a reference to Anakin's ability to build and fix stuff when we first meet him in TPM? We shall see. I think she's a Skywalker, but it wouldn't necessarily disappoint me if it turns out differently.

Rey has to have some kind of connection to Kylo in order to put some strain on their conflict. He can't just be the bad guy who killed Rey's new friend Han and hurt Finn. Why not just want to kill him? She can and almost does. Where's the conflict in that? Where's the introspection? We all know the way TFA repeats ANH with darker beats. Certainly they have chosen to follow that model. Episode 8 will have a LOT of internal conflict and there's no more internal conflict than with family relationships. Even if Rey's parents were killed by Kylo, where's the decision making? Why not just go after him and kill him? That's where Luke was headed until he found out the truth. Hatred will make Rey want to hunt down Kylo. But there's got to be some sort of sympathetic, vulnerability that causes Rey to stall and end up down the wrong pathway. She seems to be more powerful, at the moment, than Kylo.

She's definitely a Skywalker, hints that screamed "Rey Skywalker" are all over the place in TFA.

    Rey Jarrus/Dume or Rey Bridger.

Totally off the wall and will never happen, but I'd be okay with it.

If it turns out that Luke isn't her father, then yeah Ezra was the speculation that I have as well.

SW Rebels will definitely have links to this trilogy in some form or another. Linking Rey's parentage to a SWR character makes sense.
I was puzzled as to what "ally" Lor San Tekka was and his possible history. I hope its explored in Rebels or Rogue One.

If not a Skywalker, I would love for Rey to be related to Ezra. I tried to get my wife to name our future son Ezra, but she's not for it, so Ezra needs to live on somehow! That said, I'm almost certain we will see Lor San Tekka in Rebels when all is said and done.

I think this is who Benicio Del Toro will be portraying in episode 8, now whether he is good/bad I don't know?

She sees him in her vision, so he must at least be a part of her suppressed memories.

I'm convinced i heard Adam Drivers voice saying "Come with me" during the flashback when child Rey watches the ship leave Jakku, or it may have been Lor San Tekka

It's certainly hinted at that she's got a connection to Luke Skywalker, they just aren't 100% conclusive hints.

Re: Ezra or anyone else from Rebels, if they're going to make Rey related to an established character, I don't think it'll be someone outside the main Saga (or maybe the film spin-offs). The majority of the audience probably hasn't even heard of SWR, let alone watched any of it.

I thinks she's either a Skywalker or neither.
But i also think Luke's known her since she was young and hid her and her power from Ren. Maybe this is why she mentions an Island and lots of water after touching the lightsaber, has she been there before or was she told she'd be taken there (which is why she needed to wait for her ride on Jakku). And why was R2D2 in low power mode for so long, holding on to the map to Luke, only to come back online and reveal it when she turned up.

And with only one black guy in the galaxy, we can assume Finn is Lando's right.???

Any merit in the idea that the Kylo / Rey connection could simply be related to Stormtrooper recruitment (see: Finn's story of being taken from his parents by the First Order)?

Why would Rey have a vision involving Kylo, but still be on Jakku?
