    "Excellent work my friends. Thanks to your efforts, Zorilla has lost another Hutt fleet and control of the planet Alluyen. In the light of her blunder, support for Zorilla among the ruling clans has plummeted. Perhaps now the Hutt cartel will be more willing to negotiate with us on our terms."
    Darth Master Titus
    "Welcome back. It would have been a shame for our Overlord Thuro to lose his Hand to the Republic. Try not to get captured again.;)"

    "Ah, it's good to be back. I just felt like spending some time in the dank darkness with our good ol' Hutt friend. Nice place she had there, very hospitable. It seems I overstayed my welcome and she got tired of my presence there," Titus said with a grin on his face. "Thanks to The Star Wars Archivist, and the rest of you guys, I didn't lose my head for it, or worse, be sold to the Republic."

    Bulk cruiser Enslaver, Deep Space, Alluyen Sector

    Scholomancer stood on the holoprojector, and signaled his communications officer to begin:

    "Glad to see Darth Master Titus safely recovered. My pirates groups are withdrawing with their loot and their captives, and to rest, recover and in some cases lick their wounds. In the near future we can expect prices in the slave and black markets to be lowered as our goods flood the market.

    Beware to all Vigos and their businesses; we have undoubtedly stirred a hornet's nest with our range of attacks on the Hutts, and no matter what future agreement we make, there will counter-attacks on our own businesses, outposts and shipping. We must be careful in our dealings and operations in the near future, or the next flood of goods on the black market could be our own."

    At that, he stepped from the projector and made his way to the Enslaver's command deck. Sitting his in bridge chair, he signaled to his lead captain:

    "It appears Lady Zorilla's main strength is engaged elsewhere. Begin the operation"

    ~~~~~~~~~
    Glittering Jewels Repair Yard, Derilyn System:
    Several Black Sun cruisers with escorting starfighters decanted from hyperspace in the Derilyn system. Long rows of cargo containers were grouped around Glittering Jewels freight and repair yard for this sector. Pieces of Black Sun fighters and freighters were evidence of the last failed attack Scholomancer did not deal with failure well, and resolved to come in force.
    Zorilla's defences were on alert, but outnumbered. The main cargo and repair yards disgorged squadrons of fighters, and several Corellian Corvettes backed by large armed freighters moved into barrier positions as the Black Sun cruisers moved into. Around both groups of ships the starfighters began their attack runs, lighting the battle planes with laser field and the flares of missiles.
    The bulk cruisers focused on one Hutt ship at a time, working it over and turning into a wreck before moving to the next. The Black Sun cruiser Karinne slewed out of formation with it's port engines ablaze, but the remaining ships destroyed or forced the remaining Hutt forces into retreat.
    "Signal the cargo haulers to pick up the cargo containers. Signal the boarding transports to seize control of the cargo and repair yards. These stations will be a great asset to Black Sun in the Alluyen sector."
    Shadow Trooper: Indeed, Black Sun has achieved a major victory over its enemies. I do not see Zorilla the Hutt recovering anytime soon. Like you said, now would be the perfect time for Black Sun to approach its allies on the Hutt council. Can you set up a meeting with the Besadii? Maybe, as a sign of good faith, we should help Durga the Hutt seize Klatooine. Perhaps, that would a job for Scholomancer or The Star Wars Archivist?
    Darth Master Titus: I hope your recovery goes well. Is there any intel you can give us on Zorilla's activities? I know you probably won't have noticed much because you were held captive, but there is always a chance...
    Scholomancer: You are absolutely right about being careful. Some Hutts have betrayed Black Sun in the past, a thing like that shall not happen again. Still I think if we were to make a deal with the Besadii, Black Sun should leave their allies properties alone. Do you have any further suggestions how to deal with the other Hutts? Also I am most certain in the light of the recent events, you have more than earned the title of Vigo. Doesn't he, my Underlord, Thuro?
    Of course. When one proves themselves they should be rewarded according to their actions, and so he shall. Enjoy your status, and revel in your status as one of the new rulers of Black Sun.
    We must seize our advantage before this opportunity slips through our fingers. Let us join with the Hutts and extend our reach.
    I propose we put a spy into the Besadii clan to keep us informed, and guard against betrayal.
    I am honoured, and the rays of the Black Sun falter and dim while I am Vigo.
    For the Klatooine proposal, most of my forces are still full from the recent round of combat. Some groups are recovering their losses and repairing their ships, and the crews of others are satiated with loot, and are spending their shares in smoky cantinas and fleshpots across the galaxy.
    A couple of groups may still prove to be hungry for profit, but their numbers would only be sufficient as secondary forces.
    A proposal for the Overlord, Underlord and all Vigos: The Star Wars Archivist, Darth Master Titus, Thuro, General Immodet, Shadow Trooper
    Due to the recent Republic laws that allow major galactic corporations to arm themselves, most of these operations, notably but not including the Commerce Guild and the Trade Federation, have invested in heavily armed and armoured super-freighters which often double as warships. Again, notably at Naboo but repeated across the Outer Rim, is that they are using their new fleets and armies to not only defend their possessions, but to make aggressive moves against companies, systems, and planets to force their designs
    Currently the Black Sun has dozens of both legitimate shipping and business concerns, as well as "fronts" for our other operations. I propose we combine as many businesses as we need to, to qualify for the new bill. This will legitimize any arms buildup, and prevent too many questions into our other dealings.
    Yes, my fellow Vigos, we would have to pay more business taxes to the Republic, but the benefit forces to rival a Trade Federation super-freighter or a Commerce Guild destroyer is well worth it.
    Shadow Trooper, have you received any information about Black Sun's assignment on Klatooine? What did Durga the Hutt wants us to do? The troops of The Star Wars Archivist and Scholomancer are spread thin, but when combined they still make a force to be reckoned with. Like The Star Wars Archivist said, it might be a good idea to put a spy into the Besadii... Someone with a more important position that would be aware of all the clan's dealings.
    The Trade Federation is still under investigation after the Battle of Naboo... Nute Gunray and his fellow Neimoidians are being trialed by the Republic.
    Your idea is most certainly interesting, Scholomancer, but I doubt Black Sun would be able to gather enough support for this bill. The Battle of Naboo is still fresh into everyone's memory, including ours.
    General Immodet Durga assures me this won't require many of our soldiers. He simply wants us to deploy some hit squads to kill specific Klatoonians and Hutt business partners under the protection of Oruk the Hutt, a relation of Zorilla. Durga hopes to show that Oruk is incapable of defending Klatooine from us and that clan Besadii is a much more suitable choice to govern the planet. Zorilla has already been shamed for her failure to win Ryloth as well as her loss of the prisoner and an entire fleet. This may be just what we need to erode her support further.
    An interesting idea to be sure, but I do not wish to draw extra attention to our activities. As Shadow Trooper has said, it is much to soon to enact such plans. People have not yet forgotten the atrocities at Naboo.
    In time all shall pass as is necessary.
    Hm, then it appear Black Sun will have to accept this mission to Klatooine.
    Although we all do not like to take orders from any Hutts, we must do so once to gain an ally in this conflict.
    Scholomancer and The Star Wars Archivist: Can you send some of your men to Klatooine to make some trouble? The sooner we get this over with the better.
    Shadow Trooper: Do you have any idea how Black Sun could put a spy into the Besadii's upper circles? Is there a way for your informer to gain some more prestige?
    Unfortunately they still do not trust him very well. He is a supposed defector from Black Sun, so his trustworthiness to the Besadii is dubious at best. Even if they are certain he is no longer loyal to us, they likely would not be to trusting of an already proven turncoat. Afterall he supposedly betrayed us for a few credits, what stops him from betraying them when he gets a better offer? I will try to get more of my people to infiltrate his inner circle, but it will be difficult. I do not have the gift for subterfuge like our former Vigo Shadowmancer did.
    Our forces are indeed spread thin. It is becoming increasingly difficult to distribute soldiers without losing the necessary protection of our assets.
    I currently only have 3000 men to spare along with 1250 pieces of artillery/heavy weapons. I would assume I would need to send at maximum two companies of the soldiers I have available to assist Durga.
    On the note of a spy, is there not someone we could hire (perhaps already in the Besadii ranks)? Someone to fill the void that Shadowmancer left behind after their passing?
    Perhaps Scholomancer can assist me in this regard. If I recall correctly, he has taken over our slaving operations. My plan is simple. Many Hutts are known to have strange fetishes for Twilek dancing slaves. As one of our Vigos still controls Ryloth, we are the only supplier of these dancers at the moment. Perhaps we could slip implant some bugs and transmitters among the next batch of slaves Vigo Scholomancer sells to the Besadii. These slaves would be more privy to important information than conventional informants as the Hutts will often keep them close at all times, even during confidential meetings, and they will not expect a simple dancing girl to be a mole for Black Sun. The best part is, even the slaves would be unaware of our devices therefore they could not betray us if they were caught.
    A delightful idea. In fact, we could no doubt expand this project to encompass not only Hutt targets, but others whom use slaves as well. We could also find spies via the traditional manner, volunteering, in exchange for freedom and a substantial credit reward.
    On the Klatooine matter, several crews have signalled readiness to join up for that battle. To ally my captain's fears of being "Hutt fodder" I will lead the group personally. It would amount to three bulk cruisers and armed merchant cruisers, a pair of corvettes, boarding transports, and two squadrons of mixed fighters. What targets does Durga have for us? Deep space assassination? Kidnapping? Out and out raids and theft?
    Shadow Trooper and Scholomancer: Using slaves as spies... That seems like a brilliant plan. How soon can we start doing this? Black Sun must have someone in the Besadii's midst before the main negotiations start.
    The Star Wars Archivist and Scholomancer: I understand about your troops being spread thin. Still, the number of men you proposed to do the job would most certainly be enough. Durga wants us to make some trouble on Klatooine, so her opponents look weak. This should not require much of our men. Can the both of you work together to take care of this assignment?
    Very well. I will distribute my soldiers at a rendezvous just outside the Klatooine system.
    They await your men, Scholomancer.
    If you wish to take control of the mission, then do so. But I believe our captains are competent enough to carry out a few raids.
    OOC The Star Wars Archivist: I was going to either hit multiple Hutt outposts or hit Klatooine cities and towns that put themselves under Hutt protection. Either way it will sow confusion and expose Oruk and Zorilla's faction as being even more weak. Ideally that will trigger the other Hutts to move in and complete their destruction of internal competition. In a future post or two I was going to absorb some of Zorilla and Oruk's pirate crews into our own, much as Black Sun operators went over to the Hutts in the first place. Perhaps some of the Hutts mercenaries will defect to your forcess if we seem to be winning, or if we've bankrupted the Hutts into not paying them! If you want to write up any combat posts, let me know or PM me directly and we'll put together an operation.
    On a side note, I would like to bring another issue to the table.
    Does Black Sun have any existing contracts with arms dealers? If there are, than I would like to be given the specific details of them as soon as possible.
    If not, I would like permission to negotiate a contract with a dealer of my choice.
    --------
    I would also like to add that Scholomancer and myself are currently organising the attacks on Klatooine. We should have things sorted out soon.
    Hecloo City, Klatooine, Hutt Space
    Throughout the squat, stout low buildings of the Klatoonian species, all was quiet in the flint blue sky. A rising rumble was the first inclination of danger. Suddenly, thunderbolts flashed out of the clear sky to hit the city haphazardly. Bolts flashed through buildings, plazas and landing fields.
    As the civil defences alerts began to sound, and the Klatooine and Hutt mercenaries began to boil out of their barracks to their defence positions, the Black Sun transports arrived.
    With a swoosh, Black Sun snubfighters spit laser fire and missiles across the city, attempting to suppress the defenders and to instill panic in the popular. Behind them, transports flared down and disgorged Black Sun pirates and military-grade hovercraft. The pirates began to spread through out the city in search of loot and plunder.
    In the far overhead, Black Sun cruisers oversaw two other operations as this, watching from afar the blink of explosions and the rising smoke.
    Hutt Planetary Base, Klatooine
    As the raiding alerts began to pour in from the other hemisphere, the main Hutt outpost, a major planetary defence base and training area, began to mobilize and stream towards the pirates. Several starfighter squadrons began to deploy against the cruisers and transports filled with troopers moved towards the threatened cities. Pirates, Oruk reasoned, were cowardly and a heavy show of force should cut their activities short.
    As the last wave of transports departed, their orbital arrays picked up another group of freighters and bulk cruisers descending on the outpost itself.
    Immediately, Oruk understood the strategm and sought to recall at least some of his fighters and troopers. The Star Wars Archivist 's military and mercenaries began a bombardment of the facility as they dove on the outpost. Several buildings were either destroyed or smoking before the outpost shields went up.
    The Black Sun transports landed, and in a far cry from Scholomancer's pirate ragtag horde, disgorging disciplined units heavy tanks, artillery and fast-moving armoured troopers. A fierce battle grew around the Black Sun attack wedges as they entered the base perimeter, working through the buildings one by one.
    Overhead, Black Sun snubfighters tangled with Hutt ships at both battle planes and Hutt mercenaries, backed by the Klatooine planetary guard, fought running battles with Black Sun pirates and troopers in the streets and between the buildings.
    In the Enslaver stationed above Hecloo City, Scholomancer watched his units cause heavy damage and devastation to the target cities. He watched as pirates filled ship after ship with loot and Klatoonians, then turning back to search for more loot and captives.
    As he noticed the Hutt defence grids tightening, the shock and confusion disappearing into solid defence lines and coordinated tactics, and looking at the timer, he signalled his groups.
    "Begin withdrawal, we've done the damage that we could. Take everything."
    Looking over the holomaps the Black Sun military units were overrunning the weakened Hutt military base.
    "Commander," referring to The Star Wars Archivist's on-site officer, "Begin the pullback now. Deploy your salvage teams to recover as much war material as well. If you've gained any prisoners we may have able to offer them more gainful employment, as well. You may have to enslave the Klatoonians however. We have attacked their home world and they will not be as.. malleable."
    Pirate Cruiser Enslaver, Deep Space
    Durga's "relief" fleet arrived just as the Black Sun ships were in full retreat and heading for their hyperspace vectors. Scholomancer was pleasantly surprised that Durga kept to the plan instead of some further betrayal.
    With the Black Sun ships full of loot, prisoners and captives, and with several cities and a major base damaged or in ruins, Zorilla and Oruk had failed in upholding the Hutt end of the Treaty of Vontor. Durga now had good cause to take over the defences in the name of the Hutt Council, simply in order to prevent a slave uprising. Scholomancer signaled The Star Wars Archivist.
    "It is completed, and most profitable.."
    Shadow Trooper and Scholomancer: We have kept our end of the bargain. This should have gained Black Sun the opportunity to meet with some high ranking members of the Besadii clan in person to discuss a possible alliance. Please contact Durga the Hutt, Shadow Trooper, and request him for an audience. Also, I would like to ask both of you whether there already have been shipped slaves to the Besadii which are active as spies.
    The Star Wars Archivist: Black Sun has many different kind of connections with arms dealers. Some of our members handle them through legal channels using legal companies. Other members of ours simply steal shipments of weapons. If you can get a new arms dealer to support us with weapons in some way, you are free to do so. The more weapons the better.
