I especially liked his line that "if OJ Simpson was making his name in 2014, he wouldn't be able to hide his true self for one week."

Also, a stinging admission at the end of his monologue that he had been part of the media that turned a blind eye to Simpson's blatant and horrid record of domestic battery simply to keep the aura of this "great hero" alive. Keith will never be described as humble, but he is able to criticize himself and his industry in retrospect when applicable.

Yeah, it's my 3rd consecutive post here, but I find this bit of commentary from Olbermann intriguing, though a bit perplexing... I think he cares a bit more about baseball then he lets on. :p

Sorry Tunes, I must have missed the tag. I love this show, and more specifically, the ease with which Keith goes totally off-subject (generally in multiple directions), but always finds a way to loop it back to the main story. It's unique - he's an incredibly bright and talented analyst.

Thought the Cornell piece was great-still working on watching the new vid.

Edit: Oh man. That was so good. I'm guilty of so much of the stuff he talks about, but it was really good. Especially loved the shout-out to the great FIFA EA series and the fact that MLB's only playable game is available on one console alone.

    No worries, heels.

I think his point about MLB & video games is a bit overdone, well oversimplified... baseball has plenty of issues, but I don't think having more concise video games helps to solve the problems all that much.

    @Yanksfan, @dp4m, @heels1785

No matter what you think of the Jeter farewell tour -I've certainly made fun of it from time-to-time-, that's worth a view; holy ****, what well-made ad/video! Man, so many great shots there, but my favorite was the group of the mid-to-late 90's-Yankees legends & greats sitting at that table. Wow.

    Well played.

And I think the Cowherd auction has to be a troll. I can purchase two knives to jam into my ears for much cheaper than 6 grand.

Cuban auction is now up to 45k. I guess someone thinks he's going to give them genius business advice or a couple mil while they're watching the game.

It's probably someone he spurned on Shark Tank, wanting to throw it back in his face.

Or Shawn Marion, hoping for a contract offer.

Maybe David Stern, with one last fine for him

Haha, maybe, Juliet. However, a 45k entry fee for a TV show may be a bit steep. Would have to be one great idea!

Set aside the obvious fact that I couldn't make an actual bid for that... if I could smoke a cigar a la Red Auerbach during the game, then I would be completely down for that sort-of-thing.

Stuart Scott just got the Valvano award, and there wasn't a dry eye in that auditorium. One of the most incredible speeches I've ever heard.

    Here's Stu Scott's remarkable speech:

I also had no idea, but he's totally blind in his left eye, as well. What a champion this guy is, dealing with all of this and still just exuding positivity and spirit. Respect.
