Yeah, the canon timeline is rather messy and too vague for my liking. I miss hard dates of the original EU where they were vague in some form but not frustratingly so. You can make a calendar :)

The closest we get to a hard date in The Bad Batch is at the start of the show, when Tech says (I believe) "it has been a cycle, or 180 rotations, since we were last on Kamino" and that would have presumably been very shortly after the Battle of Anaxes. That may not be the exact number he gives, I'd have to check, but it's around there.

I take the radical position that the clones were always referred to as Stormtroopers since the Battle of Geonosis. “Clone trooper” is just informal and helps differentiate them from regular troops pulled from planetary defense forces.

    I don't hate that.

Also fun info from the new Insider. Filoni apparently decided against having Yaddle talk like Yoda in TotJ, because Frank Oz had told him that he thought Yoda spoke that way to honor his Jedi Master. And Filoni wanted to keep that idea.

    @Sinrebirth, @HMTE, @Chrissonofpear2, @Kadar Ordo

Hey, can folks let me know what is missing from this list of established OneCanon retcons please! These are drawn from this thread and Tales from the OneCanon.

    1. Ben Solo is the fourth child of Han and Leia. He was born one year after Dark Empire: Empire's End, from Legends. This coincides with the Battle of Jakku in Canon. In that respect, all Canon post-Endor references begin from the Battle of Onderon, not the Battle of Endor. So anything set, for example, five years after Endor in Canon actually takes place in 15 ABY, such as Mandalorian season one.

    2. The Yuuzhan Vong War lasted four years.

    3. The Legacy of the Force novels take place in their original timeline placement i.e. 37 ABY, as mentioned in Betrayal.

    4. Episode VII: The Force Awakens, takes place in 41 ABY.

    5. After Mon Mothma steps down as Chief-of-State circa Champions of the Force, she retains the title of Chancellor - becoming the head of the senate. A role separate from that of Chief, a position Leia Organa will hold off and on for the next ten years.

    6. There are two Imperial Palaces, two Inquisitoriuses, Vader has two castles, all in the name of serving Sidious' ego and power

    7. Ben Solo was kept apart from his older siblings for the early years, but has spent time with them by the time he is 10. At which point he is apprenticed to Luke and sent to Ossus.

    8. Luke establishes a Jedi school on Ossus a few years after the one on Yavin 4

    9. The lightsaber Leia gives Luke on Ajan Klos per TRoS is the one she made shortly before the Thrawn Trilogy, he gives it back to her just before Planet of Twilight. It enters his permanent custody when she makes herself a new one during NJO. Eventually Luke gives it to Rey.

    10. Barriss Offee was arrested for bombing the Temple and only released after Order 66, when she becomes an Inquisitor. While hunting Shaak Ti on Felucia she experiences a Force vision that causes her to experience an alternate life where she didn't bomb the Temple and instead continued on as a healer until she was killed on Felucia, and her Padawan Zondor was killed by the Inquisitorius. Back in reality she manages to save Zondor from being killed.

    11. Anakin learned how to do the computer insertion technique Calista uses, and this is part of how he gets his fleet to Coruscant from the Outer Rim in an hour.

    12. Pie Dameron fought for the New Republic during the Yuuzhan Vong war

    13. After losing his daughter Wedge Antilles suffered a mental collapse and reverted mentally to a time where he was with Nora Wexley and not Iella Wesseri, presumably he will recover from that and put his life back together.

    14. After his defeat at Onderon Palpatine masquerades as the prophesied savior of a dark side cult to gain their resources in preparation for his rise on Exagol

    15. Dooku did not kill Yaddle during the events of The Sith Lord, he only severally wounded her. She was healed, with no memory of her attacker, and lived for a few more years.

    16. After its destruction in TBB Tipoca City is partially rebuilt by the Empire so it has full control over Kaminoan assets.

    17. The Ronin from Visions is Ajunta Pall

    18. Chewbacca was saved during Vector Prime thanks to Force shenanigans, and is reinserted into the timeline in the late 30s ABY.

After Wedge’s daughter is reported dead, I’d say.

    19. Palpatine founds the One Sith under the pseudonym White Eyes.

    20. Palpatine’s fake hologram commanding the Second Imperium is also, at times, truly him.

    21. The New Sith Wars legally ended in 1032 BBY but policing against Sith continues until 1009 BBY.

As a minor plot point @Delpheas, Chewbacca returns just after the events of Crucible, which is set in 40 ABY, just before the Massacre at Ossus and a year before The Force Awakens.

    22. Thrawn was exiled to Peridea after the series finale of Rebels. He used Nightsister magicks to puppet a clone of himself. Thrawn used that clone, while exiled in the Far Galaxy, to fight the Mount Tantiss campaign. The clone was killed at Bilbringi in 9 ABY, negating Thrawn's influence and necessitating Morgan Elsbeth's plan to retrieve him using the Eye of Scion.

    23. Gilad Pellaeon's promotion as an Admiral and Supreme Commander by the Council of Moffs governing the Imperial Remnant in the New Territories is ignored by the Shadow Council, which insistently refers to him as a Captain due to the Shadow Council's distaste for the Moffs. Pellaeon goes along with it because he's trying to knit the two factions together and doesn't want to alienate any Imperials further (and yes, deep down it does bother him).

    24. Much of the Legends accounts of the Clone Wars prior to Anakin's Knighting is compressed down to the seven weeks between Geonosis and the Battle of Christophsis (though I personally prefer @Golbolco interpretation of there being two Clone Wars, each lasting three years, the one immediately followed by the other.)

    25. Han and Leia's first wedding occurred just after Truce at Bakura, and is portrayed by the events of the novel Princess and the Scoundrel. The Alderaanian Council considers the marriage illegitimate due to its provincial nature and lack of legal backing and repeatedly tries to break up the relationship. An attempt is made to have a "legitimate" marriage, but the wedding ceremony is broken up by Triclops. An "official" wedding is held to silence the naysayers as part of an olive branch extended by Mon Mothma after the events of The Courtship of Princess Leia in 8 ABY.

I was just wondering about something if it's okay to bring it up.

This question is mainly for Cole.

It's about George Lucas' Sequel Trilogy, and since Cole owns the book The Star Wars Archives: Episodes I-III (1999-2005) that it's mentioned in, then....well, I thought it'd be a good idea to ask him.

Here's an image of the book in case anyone was wondering:

Now what I'm wondering is: there are multiple videos on YouTube that talk about George's Sequel Trilogy, but there are three in particular that caught my attention. The first talks about information that's within the book, but the second has a thumbnail that shows something strange with an Episode X, Episode XI, and Episode XII being visible like there was supposed to be two Trilogies which would be a total of six movies and would bring the overall story to twelve movies....and then the third and final video mentions Luke's son being the one who's turned to the Dark Side by Talon instead of Leia's and Han's son in Jacen's place, and also states that there was supposed to be two Trilogies just like the second video.

I'm gonna leave links to all three to see what Cole has to say about them. They're all gonna be posted in respective order.

    Here's the first one:

    Here's the second one:

And, finally, here's the third one:

I'm very interested to hear what Cole has to say.

@Jacen Skywalker I'd not give much on youtube pics or recaptions of what one can read faster and more direct in books.

From TFA concept art and abandoned ideas we can see how Lucas ideas are the foundation of what Disney took and then altered into the Sequels we got. Classical and rhyming with the PT, Lucas would have started in the NR era post Endor to show the next gen at the Jedi Academy and how it gets corrupted. Then fast forward till when it is dark and needs redemption in second and third movie. Disney basically cut the first movie relegating it to crawl and flashback past hardly mentioned to dive right into the darker parts and shifted around a lot by removing a much more prominent Luke to an absent one that needed to be found. That's how we lost the next gen being the heroes kids and instead got Rey, Finn, Poe and only Kylo as bloodrelative.

good quotes and links in here:

Originally Disney intended to, if their ST would have been a success, continue with X-XII down the line. They wanted to keep Kylo around and have intertrilogy some kind of cold war or such, with IX originally having a dark ending that left the First Order in power under Kylo. And Rey slowly building up Jedi and a Rebellion, which the Resistance was never meant to be, too small and all. But TROS rushed it with calling the galaxy to help out and end it, with Palpatine slapped in late, too. Disney wanted originally to develop the intertrilogy timeline paralell to the post-ROTJ one publishing wise with stories and backstories released in tandem and building ties between both eras.

Lucas as far as I know only intended 1 sequel trilogy, not two. But he had several ideas over the years and not all were used in his last interview based ST. So if anybody wanted to use all ideas, they'd probably somehow fit it in 2 trilogies I guess with changing some characters to make it fit and align.

One of the best files on that:

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/17j5Ge-N6Bty_KFM3vr0jPNvCSzlaZam72uHR1NAdTsk/edit?pli=1&tab=t.0

But there are good topics about this here too if you search for them. OneCanon might incorporate stuff from these ideas and STs, but so far it did not sadly.

As for OneCanoning some Lucas STs ideas:

    - one could retool the old pre-ROTJ ST idea of Luke searching for his sister (not Leia) into maybe Rey searching for Dark Rey, if there was more to that vision from TROS than just a quick shocker. If keeping it with Luke, it could be instead turned into a search for his mother, like the Black Fleet Crisis Trilogy had him and Akanah search for her but that turned out a fake story. I'd say, follow up on that and make it real! What if Padmé did not die and that was just a lie the Jedi told to ferry her to safety, but she could not stay with the twins and was hidden with the Fallanassi after all? How did her life continue, how did she truly die then?

    - one might use the Maul / Talon ST idea post Crucible and replace the Solokid generation with Allana's generation and have it end with Talon in stasis till Legacy as well as set further Abeloth / Throne of Balance shenangians after this trilogy. Maul could be another clone/proxy for White Eyes and One Sith. Tie in some of the abandoned Maul game art with Darth Krayt and the redesigned troopers and Krayt armor of an earlier era than Legacy comics! Both featured Talon.

    - microbiotic world screams Mortis Knights quest and Throne of Balance to me... so that may be dealt with in a trilogy after the Maul/Talon ST one, starring Allana old enough to take the throne

    - Disney ST OneCanon alread adressed, including Trevorow's great Duel of the Fates that can be merged or incorporated into it with some tweaks and changes (some have it set after TROS, though I once proposed a tweaked version set ahead and also concurrent with it!)

    - Visions Ronin story many favor in Hundred Year Darkness times... though others set it post ST in Legacy era. I could as easily see it in both, either as a precurser to and rhyming with the Throne of Balance, or a post Throne of Balance story with Rei'izu being in the Hapes Cluster where it can easily be hidden or vanish and with a kingdom of Witches and witchcraft, necromancing included seems highly likely befitting both light and dark Throne of Balance visions actually!

I'm actually working on a post TRoS Rey story about her looking for other Palpatine descendants, which is kinda similar to your suggestion.

Would love to see your suggestions for incorporating it with tRoS!

It's in another topic, but basically, contrary to Sinre setting it after TROS, my version had DotF take place before TROS with Kuat and all, but at some point folks like Finn and Rose would have to have to hand the rest of the Coruscant plot over to other characters as they leave for their part in TROS. We got good underused other characters from DU that can replace them even easily and keep that story the same then.

    https://boards.theforce.net/threads/star-wars-episode-ix-duel-of-the-fates.50053184/

    copied from over there:

    ColeFardreamer said:
so who all here has actually read the full Trevorrow script and not just the summaries? Reading the full thing is very different than just reading the summaries. Given I love both, TROS and the Trevorrow version and would prefer a merger of both storywise where possible, or at least a lot of the script reused set before, after and during TROS, maybe with other characters in some roles, I need whoever read the actual thing for discussion of some points. Maybe I create a topic of its own for that purpose. If anybody here is interested?

Especially I intend to salvage and reintegrate in and around TROS:
-A brief Mortis visit by Kylo and Rey
-Force Ghost Luke nagging Kylo and communicating with Leia
-Courscant Uprising and Stormtrooper Rebellion joining the Kids and average citizens rising up
-Ancient tech below the Jedi Temple like the Kyberlight-Communication-Network (and montage across the galaxy)
-The Oracle / Tor Valum and how that concept ties to Palpatine and Plagueis
-expanded role for Rose and Finn

    My still imperfect headcanon attempt:

1 - Prelude to TROS: Mission to Coruscant Part 1: Spying on the FO Finn and Rose infiltrate the capital and see how it has fallen apart and meet the people living below the elite above (repeating the elite Canto Bight feels vs. the poor below theme). Trying to help the local people, Finn meets another FN trooper and inspires him to leave the FO. Rose learns of an ancient Jedi communication system that might be useful for the resistance calling the galaxy to war as in ancient times. But before they can continue they are recalled to Ajan Kloss for another urgent mission, handing the Coruscant duties off to other characters that will continue it offscreen in their stead. (some important known folks who did not cameo in TROS maybe from comics or books or games?)
2 - Luke and Leia communicate occasionally when Rey is training or not present.
3 - When taking the Wayfinder on Mustafar, Kylo is interrupted by a voice and as he turns sees the Oracle creature / Tor Valum in the pond behind the burning trees with Vader's castle near by. Be it the ash and smoke from the fight and fires or the Force the scene is misty and clouded like a Force vision though as if it might not be fully real as he briefly converses with the creature before draining its life for he does not like what he is told by it.
4 - Force Ghost Luke added nagging Kylo on Mustafar as well as on Exogol and elsewhere including the sabergrab scene.
5 - When Kylo and Rey duel through and over the Death Star ruins, we may re-integrate a Forceflash element to the fight as they had on Kijimi/Kylos Quarters. As they clash, it is as if they are battling for the fate of the galaxy and flash to various places across the galaxy, including the Mortis temple with its Yin-Yang courtyard from TCW and other known locales briefly.
6 - Coruscant Mission part 2: Finn and Rose's replacement resistance contacts arrive on Coruscant and are infiltrating the Jedi Temple and already begun work on the ancient kyberlight communication network. The inspired stormtrooper meanwhile freed more brothers and sisters and entire platoons deserted and joined the growing uprising on the capital at war.
7 - Mortis part 2: On Exogol, Ben and Rey learn a dark truth: Nobody ever found Mortis because Mortis is no more. They are standing on what Mortis has become, Exogol, a world no longer safe within a monolith/Tho Yor but with one parked right over the place she meets Palpatine. The Sith had taken Mortis and its power already!
8 - Coruscant part 3: With Lando taking the Falcon to head to the Core systems and call for help, he arrives at Coruscant and meets the local heroes kicking off the ancient kyberlight systems galaxywide call to arms with a recorded message of Leia Organa herself from days before she passed away to reach her son. Montage to the light and call reaching countless worlds as in the script.
9 - It all coming together: Coruscant uprising is successful as are others across the galaxy as seen in the victory montage in TROS, Lando took a huge fleet back to Exegol/Mortis to win the day.

    Thoughts? Additions? Tweaks?
    ColeFardreamer said:
Can't edit my post anymore so here is a little add on:

As for the replacement characters for Finn and Rose on the latter parts of the Coruscant mission, I'd propose this:

Neeku and Tam Rivora from Resistance. Both are great mechanics, quick to making friends and Tam herself has FO background now as a deserter. They have a good character dynamic like Finn and Rose and may fill the roles nicely. We know Kaz, Torra and Jeager fly in the Exogol battle via Lando's fleet arrival, so lets give other Resistance tv show heroes something to do!

Also I'd replace the Eclipse from the Trevorrow script with the Colossus from Resistance to keep a mega-vessel in the Coruscant space battle. Albeit a fully reinforced, armored and armed Colossus that when nearly crushed by incoming FO fleets is saved by Lando's ragtag fleet converging on Coruscant before heading off to Exogol.. or converging on Coruscant right after Exogol.

And if adding in more missing headcanon scenes, I'd place Broomboy on some farflung world getting the kyberlight call leading another local insurrection.

Regarding other characters needing replacement in the Coruscant plot: Hux can't be Chancellor, so how about Chancellor Rae Sloane? Fighting till the end, committing suicide in the face of defeat?

I quite like a lot of that @ColeFardreamer, and once I read the script proper I'll have some thoughts on it.

Though immediately I think Rae can't be Chancellor cus she dead. I might wanna use a Legends character there, just to tie things together better. Idk if Dalaa is still around post FotJ but she strikes me as the right kind of fascist.

Unrelated, how likely do we think it is that the 2025 marvel Star Wars run is gonna continue to place Han and Leia's home on Chandrila instead of Coruscant?

I ask because I started Last Shot and they are still on Chandrila, which conclflicts with legends and upcoming OneCanon stories. Unless we move Last Shot to immediately after the Battle of Jakku, before Power Games and Sinre's WIP story.

We could also just retcon to say they're on Coruscant.

Edit: The latter option may make more sense with other things going on in Last Shot, like Lando sleeping with old flings, a thing he seems unlikely to be doing while pretending to date Mara. And that is broken off circa Darksaber.

In Power Games Sinre does have Leia think that Mon will be based on Chandrila and her on Coruscant, so that can be our establishing moment.

Give the man his suicide and have him survive it... stabby by lightsaber isn't what it used to be. Imagine his shock when waking up in hospital with a hole in his chest but still living with a mechanical heart or such. And Pryde's face there when he wakes up. Pure gold!

Besides, how can he be Chancellor after betraying the FO in TROS? I'd rather see him do that after a failed suicide!

Sorry I am gonna die on the hill of my placement. Nevertheless I enjoy yours, too!

Remind me how he did that again? (Hux)

Anyway, the whole post TROS era might be a case of hold your banthas, in some regards. Perhaps best not to jump too far ahead?

But I already consider War of the Galaxies and likely Hidden Temple as a loose end point anyway, to this timeline (barring Legacy of course)

I generally like retconning away minor continuity clashes wherever possible (ie, Leia absentmindedly confused a message from Lowbacca or Waru, in Bloodlines, with one from Chewie) So having some of the government on Chandrila as of 12 to 15 ABY seems like one such simple fix.

Or of more complex ones - like NRI having Leia agree to a disinformation campaign toward the source of Vader being her father (bit trickier that one) to muddy waters.

Regarding the NR government, having some of it on Chandrila (or wherever else the Senate moves it seat) is fine. I'm curious about where Leia lives, because in Last Shot, currently set in 14ABY OneCanon years, she's on Chandrila, but in three books set in 13-14, Children of the Jedi, Darksaber, and Planet of Twilight, she lives on Coruscant. Not to mention the Jedi Academy Trilogy set in 12 ABY, where she's moved her family back onto Coruscant.

And as I think Last Shot needs to be set after Lando and Mara's "breakup", 14 ABY is best for it. Therefore, do we assume that anything depicting Leia living on Chandrila with Han and Ben after 11ABY is actually depicting them living on Coruscant?

Regarding Duel of the Fates, after starting reading it, I'm inclined to follow @ColeFardreamer. My instinct is actually to take the script and make a OneCanon edit that does three things:

Weaves it through the plot of tRoS following Cole's suggestions, fixes inconsistencies like Vader's helmet, Rey's lightsaber, and the names of the Knights of Ren, and incorporates Jaina, Ben, Jagged, and other Legends characters (assuming a world state for them based on Sword of the Jedi by HandofThrawn45).

I might also want to replace some of the moments where Ghost Luke is training Rey with Leia, so we get more scenes of Jedi Master Leia training her final student.

Considering her wealth, can't Leia and Han maintain multiple penthouses on significant worlds to the Republic?

Come to think of it, I've never thought about what Luke's chambers on Yavin are like. Are they even described in any detail?

They could, maybe they stay with Ben on Chandrila (where they have a protocol droid who isn't 3PO and gourmet chef droid Lando gifted them) and on Coruscant they keep the other kids. Certainly facilitates keeping them apart while also providing a sense of family and stability.

In JAT the whole Temple setup is kinda Spartan, idk about later. It stills seems pretty simple as of Darksaber.

also my head canon for Tor Valum was he was a zeffo birthed xenomorph (Using the inclusion of them from SE)

empty, spartan.more like an office in which he sleeps.

The Solos are so often on the move, and in between kids in Anoth base, I guess its good to have several places.

Given Jaina and Jacen are together in Anoth, I'd love to see Ben Solo and Anakin Solo together in Anoth with Ben instilling in Anakin the fear of Vader's past and or discuss it with him given his influence from Snoke and else. But where Ben loves it.. Anakin does not at all.

And the Solos evading kidnappings by having multiple homes and maybe even doubles inhabiting them when they are not there to mislead the empire... imagine how often Imperial kidnappers returned with their stunt doubles lol!

Bet when Jag told Jaina about the shadow child tactic she was like "Old news, when I was little we did that all the time!"

    PS:
Do you have good detailed summaries of HOT45s stories? Does he have a wook or such for his continuations? A while ago I read some and did not like them at all. Especially what he did with some characters fates. Thus I stopped and ignored them. Never got what people like about them aside that he consistently puts in much effort to continue and finish a lot, which is commendable, just not my stuff choicewise. But summaries with details and spoilers I would love to check out (in text, not youtube vids!).. or excerpts of his best scenes to maybe win me back to trying some again.

Yub I agree at the Zeffo Tor Valum mutant. But xenomorph? Why then is he tree-like like an evil Neti/Drengir and rooted? I guess he is a longlivety experminet gone wrong/right using Neti rooting for longlivety. Of course that could involve black goo and Xeno stages.

The Poe-mance, well yeah.. we cut that.

As for Mortis.. became a dark and dead world. It kinda makes sense I think, but the dead real world Mortis may not be same as the ethereal dream of Mortis inside the Monolith the Mortis Knights are hunting for! Even if the Sith took Mortis, its power may be gone despite still retaining ties to the absent power that took off with a Monolith. The Duel on Mortis may just be the beginning of its healing (and Tor Valum's end) and lead to its renewed rise, much like Mustafar gets greener slowly. Switching Mortis with Peridea is a nice idea! Especially given the Dyad can flash there like in their duels.
Another idea I had is, what if Mortis is not ONE place but several that share aspects of it? in Neverland (Peter Pan / Hook verse) movie, Neverland is at the 4 corners of the universe, yet all 4 corners folded back to the middle are one singular place, Neverland. In the same way I could imagine Mortis being a place one can reach, but that actually is connected to or split into 4 (or more? less?) places at the edges of the galaxy. Much like Yoda reached the Midichlorian Force World through Dagobah, or Lego SW had 1 cornerstone (of howmany?) hidden on Dagobah's burried tree-cave-temple. Tales comics had one with Aurra sing hunting shapeshifters on 4 elemental planets crucial to the galaxy, these were Bespin (air), Tatooine (fire), Hoth (water) and Endor (earth). What if these or others serve likewise? Or we use Dagobah, Lothal, Ach-to and Exegol... or others like one of Abeloths worlds, Peridea, etc. many candidates exist. That way we can connect some mysterious places, keep Mortis connected yet separate and mustn't have all of Mortis in Sith hands but maybe just one cornerstone of it.

2 Snokes running around is fun!

Ben redeemed I favor, too. But what if one runs with a darker half of Ben splitting off? Palpatine having cloned him? or else... did he ever visit Dantooine?

@Delpheas, quite a few Legends characters are present in Episode X, I thoroughly enjoyed adapting the script to a game.

    Rey/Poe aside, that is.

A second set of Knights of Ren works for me, after the former is slaughtered, too.

I am mildly in love with the idea that Kylo Ren's dark half, like Darth Revan, carries on after his light part dies in TROS.

I appreciate you had a blast Sinre adapting it to a game, but I wanna read my Star Wars, even the video games have kinda lost their shine for me. And I realize I could read the RPG thread, but it being the result of people playing a game pushes me to want to consider it an Infinities story. [face_dunno]But that's just me.
