OTP Challenge #31: Romantic 3+1s​

This one is a little like our 5+1 challenge from December 2020, but on a slightly smaller scale. Once again, the first three scenes or sections feature the same kind of event or the same kind of thing being done, and in the last section it’s reversed. (And of course all of it is romantic, since this is the OTP thread, after all!) For example, your story might be...

• Three times Luke kisses Mara and one time Mara kisses Luke.
• Three times Kanan gives Hera a gift and one time Hera gives Kanan one.
• Three times Owen is protective of Beru and one time Beru protects Owen.

As with the 5+1 challenge, the options are limitless! Your fic can go anywhere and use any events you want; it can be fluffy, angsty, humorous, serious, or any mixture thereof. To get the brainwaves rolling, here are some suggestions (collected from various Tumblr sites) that anyone can feel free to use, and you’re by no means limited to these choices:

1. 3 times Person A wanted to tell Person B they love them + the 1 time they finally did
2. 3 times Person A had perfect plans go awry + 1 time they were perfect
3. 3 times Person A was Person B’s hero + 1 time Person A needed saving
4. 3 times Person A thought Person B had a crush on them + 1 time Person A knew
5. 3 times Person A made Person B laugh + 1 time Person A made Person B cry
6. 3 times Person A pranked Person B + 1 time Person B got revenge
7. 3 places Person A and Person B almost kissed + 1 where they were not interrupted
8. 3 times Person A embarrassed themself + 1 time Person B did it for them
9. 3 times Person A complimented Person B + 1 time Person B complimented Person A
10. 3 times Person A cheered Person B up + 1 time they couldn’t

You’ll have the usual eight (8) weeks to write, with stories coming due Thursday, October 26, at 11:59 pm (23:59) PST. TOS, as always, applies. Have fun!

Congrats @devilinthedetails for the win and a wonderful story! And kudos to all participants; though I haven't commented yet I read and enjoyed all the entries.

 

This is a little late (I thought I'd posted already ) but congratulations to @devilinthedetails and a big round of applause to all the participants in the last challenge!

And I just have a question for the current challenge. Does it have to be Character A/Character B for each segment, or can it be something like "3 breakups (with Character A/different characters) + 1 time the relationship (Character A/Character B) lasts"? Thanks!

 

Yes, that would fit the criteria of a situation going one way versus the other. I just framed it as A & B because of the pairing/couplistic nature/focus. But having A and B lasting sounds like a wonderful resolution to all the false starts from before.

I so wanted to do this challenge and so I used @Chyntuck's amazing Greek Island challenge as the setting for this (hopefully) romantic story about Obi-Wan stumbling around for the perfect words.

OTP Challenge #32: Baci Chocolate Quotes

If you’ve ever had one of the Baci (“kisses”) chocolate-hazelnut truffles made by the Italian chocolatier Perugina, you’ll know not only that they’re delicious but that each one includes a small fortune tucked inside its wrapper, featuring a motto or quote (mostly about love but not exclusively) in several languages. Perugina has been including these fortunes in their Baci chocolates since 1922, and they were inspired by the secret love messages one of the founders of the company, Luisa Spagnoli, used to send one of the other founders, Giovanni Buitoni, inside the wrappers of the chocolates.

Well, it turns out your hostess and various members of her family are fans of Baci chocolates and have built up quite a collection of these fortunes over the years! And naturally I got to thinking that they would make excellent raw material for an OTP challenge (YKYAFFWW…).

So, I dug back through all the fortunes I’d saved and chose fifteen (15) quotes to bring together into a roulette challenge for this thread. (Yes, I realize this challenge essentially amounts to another Romance Quotes Challenge. The only real difference is that each of the quotes happens to come from a chocolate-hazelnut truffle that I or a close family member has personally eaten! )

You know the drill: pick a number and receive one quote to serve as a story prompt. (It will be just the English version of the quote this time, I’m afraid; hope that is OK.) Alternatively, I can pick one for you based on what I know of your writing interests!

The due date for stories is in the usual eight (8) weeks, on January 11, 2024, at 11:59 pm (23:59) PST. TOS rules apply, as always. Other than that, the sky’s the limit, and happy writing!
