Shouldn't that that be "Mandolon"? o_O

"Jediration" makes more sense, IMHO, and you can use it as an expletive.:D

Sounds too much like a musical insturment. [face_mischief]

Add a hyphen, and you can use it as a food... Jedi-ration. Could you imagine though "I am Master Jean-Luc Picard, of the Jedi Order?"

The closest I can think of to "Klingolorian" is either chimes or maybe kazoo. "Mandolon needs only replace an o with an i. Also, who would play a Klingolorian? A Klingolorianist?

    Excerpt here.

Along with a longer, more detailed description-

[i]Star Wars: Boba Fett: A Practical Man by Karen Traviss brings the reader back to the very beginning of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. This original novella is the latest Star Wars eBook publication, from Del Rey Books and will be available at eBook retailers on August 15, 2006. It also includes an exclusive excerpt from the eagerly anticipated STAR WARS: LEGACY OF THE FORCE: BLOODLINES (on?sale 8/29/06) and an interview with the author.[/i]

On the surface, it seems like just another routine contract for Boba Fett and his Mandalorian commandos, but the mystery client who hires them to start a small war is more dangerous than any of them can possibly imagine. When the Yuuzhan Vong invasion force sweeps into the galaxy, the Mandalorians find they?re on the wrong side?fighting for an alien culture that will bring about the end of their own.

Now Fett has to choose between his honor and the survival of his people. Since he?s a practical man, he?s determined help the resistance beat the Yuuzhan Vong?even if it means working with a Jedi agent. Trouble is, no one trusts a man with Fett?s reputation. So convincing the New Republic that they?re fighting on the same side is a tall order. Denounced as traitors, Fett?s Mandalorians need to stay one step ahead of their Yuuzhan Vong paymasters?and the Republic who sees them as collaborators with the most destructive enemy the galaxy has ever faced? .[hr][/blockquote]

    Thanks for the heads-up, Ph0enix.

The excerpt's nifty, and the description is intriguing... seems like Boba and his Mandos had some sort of no choice... and that Boba was deceived, by Nom Anor most likely... damn, I want to read the whole thing. :(

Likewise. I think it seems a bit clearer now as to what was actually meant by "fighting on the side of the Vong" back at Comic Con. Not exactly what everyone thought, when they were all jumping to conclusions like grasshoppers to your face when it's dark.

EDIT: is it just me, or was that analogy disturbingly similar in style - if not in execution - to one of Ex's? I think I need to get my head checked.

Yep, that's what I mean... Karen pretty much confused everyone back then.

And, what do you mean with the analogy? I don't get it...

My analogy about jumping to conclusions was along the lines of something Ex would say.

Hey, we all do it from time to time.[:D]:p

As for the excerpt, all I can say is that I'm now seriously tempted to purchase this thing. This is looking good...[face_cowboy]

    I can only imagine...:p

Oddly enough though, it echoes the argument I've made on occasion for the somewhat triune nature of the relationship between the Jedi, the Mandalororians and the Sith.[face_thinking]

I tried ordering this off of Barnes $ Noble's site but they charged me for shipping & handling. Why do you have to pay shipping on an e-book? They are digitally distributed, correct?

Well, Ex will be happy to see a fat Rodian.

What is "Bar Jaraniz?" A ship?

Edit: "You can run," he said. "But you'll only die tired." I think that's a common saying among snipers. Pretty cool, probably a shout-out to the sniper who built a verp for Karen.

For anyone who's got it - does it give a specific date/reference as to when it takes place?

AFAIK, it's in the early beginning of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion... at least part of, another part might play sooner, when you look at the quote with Nom Anor about "preparing the battlefield".
