[AFD] I don't know what to say

I can see you're all pretty pissed of with me at the moment, so I'll try and be brief.

To be honest, I have NO idea what's happened. It seems pretty clear that I hit the worng button. Halo is correct in that it's a few button combination, but if you don't realise that you pressed the wrong one to start with, it's easy to proceed unknowingly.

Well, that's probably crap as well. I guess I was just too excited at having found the forum that I just wasn't concentrating.

I am gutted that in my first week as GSA, I've made such a massive ****-up. I really don't know what else to say to you except that I am so so sorry

I'm talking with the other admins about whether my position is tenable. In the meantime, I will be taking a break from responsibility.

Your leaving us hanging with 1/2 fixed boards?

 

To be frank, I don't have the first clue as to how to go about trying to fix this. It's all way over my head. The other admins have had a lot more experience with board functions. I've had a week, and I've never had to do anything like this. All I can do is work with them and try and retrace my steps. I'm still here, but let's just say I'm not in a position to use any mod or admin functions at the moment

 

QFT. I think your stock just went up, Ben. I'll bug Dajuan about it.... The only thing that may prevent it is a somewhat irrational fear they may have of letting the RMFF gain any more control than we already have.

 

I'm up for helping too if it's needed.

I usually get irritated by most things, but I've seen probably 2 dozen forums all have problems at some point or another, including forums that were solely under my control. It's a fact of life. And when you take into account how many posts we had, I find it amazing that something bad didn't happen sooner.

In any case, good luck getting the boards operational again. If you need any help, let me know -- I've adminned a couple of boards, and have ~13 years experience in web/SQL programming.

Hopefully there's at least a backup of the data. But we also haven't posted in more than maybe 30 threads over the last 6 months anyway, so maybe it's time for a fresh start. /shrug

In two hours, we have created 161 posts and 19 threads. That's more activity than most FF's have in a month. Or a year.


They can take our post count, but they can't take our FREEEEEEEDOOOOOMMMMMMM to post!

 

Whatever, Zoo. You complaining isn't going to fix it. Give them time. You know as well as I do that the last thing the guy fixing something needs is an irate user. If anything, the louder you complain will just make everyone go to lunch and come back tomorrow.

 

I know they'll do their best to rectify this. Give it time.
