I saw a suggestion that have Baylan in between just be injured and disfigured and now he's wearing a helmet/mask ala Darth Vader
With Baylan, I think recasting is the only option. Luke deepfake and CG Tarkin is a completely different kettle of fish IMO. But it will be tough. Stevenson was brilliant in the role, and he was by far my favourite character in the series. It will be hard.
Yes, but it doesn't always tend to work that way on a major property. They need someone who can successfully follow Stevenson, which is a pretty high bar. Now, you can have an unknown actor in the role, but Disney and LFL will have to go out and make the case for him. They will need to back him up, as the response initially will be: Who the hell is this?
Between Ahsoka and Mado season 3 dose anyone else have the feeling they could be building to a live action clone wars or prequel based show?
Why bother? I wouldn't mind little "special presentation" events, but really what's the point? To further undermine the legitimacy of animation as a storytelling platform in the eyes of a lot of people? I'd rather they give us animation for the NR era with Luke, Han, Leia and Ben than do more Clone Wars in live action.
I think any prequel show is best served for pre Clone Wars. Between TPM and ATOC, or just before TPM all leading to the rise of the Sith. We could get a Syfo Dyas tv show
I am not a fan of what I'm going to propose, but it's an idea: continue with live action Ahsoka without Baylan, but follow his plot in another medium. An animated series or video game. That way his story continues. I mostly favor recasting as well, but I'm not sure if he's absolutely necessary for the Ahsoka plot depending on how they play their cards. The character is interesting, and Stevenson gave him an excellent introduction.
1x08 SMH at the episode title. Spoiler Nightsister stuff is cool but takes up too much of the episode. I’d have preferred more Thrawn and his Thrawning. Ezra needs to get rid of his beard. Also, reading Timelines and it bothers me that Huyang is over 25,000 years old. That is ridiculous. Random thought: I want a Ghost LEGO. Not for $160 though. That thing is too small for that price. Spoiler Thrawn’s face is great. The battle against the Night Troopers was a good scene to watch. I really like watching Ezra, Ahsoka, and Sabine together. I was looking forward to the Zombie troopers and even more than before I want to reread Red Harvest. Side note: Morgan’s hair looks cool. I never really looked at it before. Ahsoka’s headtails were bit distracting, flopping about before fighting Morgan. It would really up the ante if one of the heroes died. Not that I want Ezra or Sabine to actually die, but it’s overly predictable and I feel like the stakes are low. Maybe Ahsoka could die? They could rename the show to “Rebels All Growed Up.” BUT yay, the Kanan/Ezra push except with Sabine this time But of course she stayed back and Ezra can go off into the unkown yet again. [later: or not heh. Bloody weird Chopper knows him. Maybe Chop analyzed his walking?] Oh yay we get the Thrawn Thrawning that makes me very happy. But how do Ahsoka and Sabine just smile afterwards? Very odd. DATHOMIR. Hrm. Weird end, from both POVs. There was no need for Anakin.
There are a lot of things about this season's writing I disliked that @Golbolco nailed about two pages ago, but one thing that stood out as a success was an excellent soundtrack. Kiner can be fantastic at times. The Thrawn theme was particularly wild, especially how it was almost certainly playing off Arrival's eerie score:
You know if they wanted to keep Rangers of the New Republic concept, doing a show about Spoiler dealing with increased imperial warlord activity as a result of thrawns return as a built up to ahsoka season 2 would be pretty good
Regarding Spoiler Ezra returning to GFFA and meeting people and (hopefully) eventual tie-ins to Mandoverse - Spoiler I would like to see a story about Luke and Ezra together performing the exorcism on Grand Inquisitor's spirit, so that he can finaly have peace.
How did I not notice that Baylan Skoll is staring at a flashing light beacon pointing to the sky from a distant mountain when he's on the statue?
