I really want to rewatch The Last Exile. None of my services ever get it.

It’s on Crunchyroll. You can do a free trial, watch it, then cancel.

To be fair, Pumas, Sukuna knew he had to
hold back against Gojo. He had Yuta, Maki and the rest to fight after, and even then he had to land Black Flash twice to restore his Domain, and it’s not even a fully functional one.

I expect more twists but it’s going roughly as expected keeping in mind whatever Gojo and Sukuna do is basically impossible. [face_laugh]

I saw Ghost in the Shell 2 in theaters as I didn't know what happens in it, and only way to see it aside from signing up for another streaming service. It's even slower than the first movie but there's a few good scenes. I didn't know how Major is used in the film and technically she is in it near in end in a floppy doll body, but cool she "shows up"

GitS 2 is very cerebral. My buddy claims it's his favorite, but I think it's just bluster.
He owns all the old GitS movies/shows, but I've never known him to watch GitS 2 again.

Has anyone watched Eden of the East? I saw the series on Blu-ray for $3 at a thrift store and thought why not. The premise sounds interesting at least, and can't go wrong with Production I.G.

Saw 1 or 2 episodes years ago.

It wasn't bad, but not compelling enough to continue. I remember almost nothing.

Production I.G. is good, but even they can have misses.

Still, for 3 bucks, even a bad anime is worth that investment.

I did not know it's pronounced "blom". I have never read it, and this rundown made me thing of A Short Stay In Hell by Stephen Peck.

In regards to shonen....it's Hunter X Hunter and then everything else. Togashi just writes his ass off.

So I haven't seen Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex but there is a free 2 hr and 40 minutes movie on YouTube called Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex: The Laughing Man which is apparently a compilation film of the series? I can dig it, it's still the same story as far as I know

There are two (3?) Seasons. One season is focused on the Laughing Man case. The other is focused, quite topically, on the government's handling of a refugee crisis.

The Ghost in the Shell series is one of my favorites, especially the second season.

And it has one of my favorite openings:

Kazundo Gouda was much better than the whole thing with Laughing Man, yes.

A well done political thriller that deals with contemporary issues is definitely more compelling than a weird mystery that's trying to be too smart.

Now can you explain what happened with that Netflix Ghost in the Shell 3D show where the plot was "The economy is war" or something? It was such a letdown coming off Second Gig.

Yeah, I only got about 10 minutes in. The line I quoted is where I noped out. It’s very much like Key and Peele’s Substitute Teacher 2 skit, where someone makes something brilliant and then follows up with something that makes you deeply question their brilliance.

I'm assuming this laughing man movie is basically that entire season cut together in a single flick

Which is a shame because the stand alone episodes are great for world building and losing out on those for just the main story arc makes it worse.

Love SAC, and especially 2nd Gig.

1st season was solid, and really established the world for SAC and how it was different from the original films.

2nd Gig's story is just way more compelling in a "real world" sense, where the first season was still dedicated to making the "Ghost" element much more necessary to the overall plot.

Solid State Society was tremendous as well...just much too short.
