Could be a young Snoke in a flashback?

 

Based off the NuCanon, Hux's dad is pretty freaking dead. He was killed by Phasma, who acted in conspiracy with Hux the younger.

 

Flashback. Back when Rae Sloane played by Naomi Ackie and Hux's dad entered UR and met Snoke.

Anyway, I think Obi-Wan could work for him. EM might be too young to play old Obi-Wan.

 

I think if we're expecting him to play an old/young version of a known character, or someone we know in a flashback, or whatever, we're setting ourselves up for assured disappointment. He'll almost certainly play a new character, who will have some relevance to the plot, but that could be anywhere between a few minutes of screentime (Lor San Tekka) or a pivotal supporting role (Admiral Holdo).

 

I'm not expecting him to play anything. I'm having fun speculating. I'm a person of low expectations in general which is why movies rarely disappoint me, if ever. FO officer Boringpants is the low expectations bet for me.

 

Though the new character might turn out to be Snoke's actual "master" and Snoke was a literal puppet all along.

With this now set as the final I don't see Ren not becoming "Ben" again and reuniting with his family at the end. We still don't know his story or what happened to him so while difficult it's not impossible to work it that he's been under the baleful (or is that Baneful?) influence of some Dark side Master all along.

I kind of doubt that they would include actors in the casting announcement that are merely in a flashback.

 

Officer of some sort (for FO or Resistance) or a KOR. Probably a small role.

 

Fanservicy, awesome, but unlikely possibilities:

• Thrawn
• Younger Snoke

Much more likely answer:

• First Order or Resistance General/Admiral

 

We have a new enemy GoT connection.

 

Canady's brother, looking for revenge against Hux.

 

What about serious looking Rebel commander standing in front of a hologram of a Death Star.

 

Guys, his face screams FO officer. It's still a mistery though if his role will be small as captain Peavy or something like Hux or Phasma.

 

I thought he had a little bit of Paul Bettany about him.

 

Actual Snoke, not the force projection that we have seen in 7-8.

 

Imperial Remnant Officer, or something.

I went back and looked at the VIII casting announcement for clues:

Holdo, DJ & Rose all announced then but really only them. No Canaddy. No Peavy. No D’acy. So, these characters mentioned right below the returning cast are going to be far more than just small cameos. These are significant supporting cast roles who’ll be big parts of full arcs.

His face and looking like FO officer? His face looks like a lot of people. He resembles Alec Guinness, David Prowse, Snoke, and kind of even Ian McDiarmid.

 

He's playing Claude Frollo. You heard it here first.

 

He obviously looks like FO high-ranking officer.
