They're a pretty small percentage of all the movies that are being made, in spite of all the "everything is a superhero now!" narrative. I'd like to see a straight breakdown of, say, the 100 top rated on letterboxd movies of, let's go with 2019, so we're pre-pandemic and just get a pure percentage point of how many of them are superhero movies. I'd predict maybe fifteen percent? Not more than twenty. And every time you increase the sample size, the superhero percentage point drops, I suspect.
