I hope Gunn gets to do Suicide Squad. Really like to see him more is his grittier darker style with that.

Him being reinstated for Guardians has me thinking that eventually things will go south for any kind of James Gunn SS movie.

 

Disney closes the Fox deal on the 20th it looks. Very few see the one big Plus this could have beside the superhero’s.

Disney will officially own the original trilogy. So here’s hoping, for myself at least, that we can finally get high def unaltered originals.

 

But what about the sausage?

"Film from Quentin Tarantino" is enough for me, even if I didn't know how bonkers interesting this film was going to be otherwise.

 

I actually had to look up to confirm the guy on the left is in fact Brad Pitt. I don't know if he got a face lift or something but he looks a little different.

 

I know nothing about this film. I'm guessing it takes place in Hollywood? Tarantino Oscar bait since he's supposedly only doing 10 films and then retiring?

 

It takes place during the Manson family's spree.

 

qt doesn't need to make oscar bait. his films are genuinely just good. but i can't see him stopping at ten if he still has more ideas.

 

Not sure if you're serious or not; but I think it was CBS who aired a miniseries about a year or so ago whose setting was around the Manson murders. I watched it until the last show when it was cancelled. I don't know if it was the writing or the acting (David Ducovny starred in it), but it obviously didn't catch on.

 

She's serious. Margot Robbie has been cast as Sharon Tate.

From what I understand, this will be a loosely based on the Mason murders with being referenced and perhaps a focal point in the film, but not really any direct involvement with the main characters played by Pitt or DiCaprio. DiCaprio's character is scripted to be Sharon Tate's neighbor. As far as I know, no one has been cast to play Charles Manson.

 

Wasn't her neighbor killed?

 

I imagine it'll be like Ingloriuos Basterds - in that it'll be set during historical events but with QT's 'embellishments' , like it's not gonna be an accurate history.

 

the movie is done shooting, so yes manson has been cast (it's damon herriman who played dewey on justified).

 

That, I don't remember. However, I don't think so. I remember watching a documentary on Mason about a year ago and I don't remember police investigation a murder(s) regarding Sharon Tate's neighbor's home.

 

So in other words it could be a happy ending version where maybe Leo Decaprio and Pitt shoot up "the family" before they kill Tate, and she gives birth to a healthy baby and lives happily ever after with Roman Polanski.

 

As long as they kill Hitler again I'm down with it.

 

Didn't IB come out in the same year as Cruise's Valkyrie; which was pretty much the same story (but based on truth)?
